Got fitted for T100S last autum and I have been very happy with them. I reccomend fitting all the time. My handicap has been stable between 6 and 7 but I have more lower rounds this summer than the previos ones. Also, since the loft is quite strong in the T100S model I switch to a hybrid for the 5 iron and that has given me better scoring options on the longer approach shots and longer par 3's. So all in all, fitting and Titlest clubs are a great combo.

Dan I purchased a set of T200 without a fit and boy has it transformed my iron play. I have tried most of the other brands but just couldn’t get anything that I liked and seen the T200 bought them and boom feel in love with them. The only thing I change was the weight of the shaft from 105 stiff to 96 stiff on the back of a lesson the pro said I would benefit from a lighter shaft and he was spot on. Plus I love the way they look down at the ball. One day I might go to a titleist fit for myself just need to save the penny’s lol

I really love Titleist. I got fitted for a TSR3 driver at a demo day, had a great fitter who gave me 100% of his attention for an hour. My specs haven’t varied a whole lot over the years, so it was a pretty easy fit. Although we tried a whole bunch of options. I was left with a lot of time left and my fitter asked me if I wanted to try anything else. So I did - irons and hybrids. Amazing experience - Titleist is second to none.

did a fitting this past monday and will end up with a 3 way combo; T100 pw-9, t150 8-6 and T200 5-2. some ajustment to the loft but not more then 1-2 degree depending on club, just to make not more then 4 degree difference in the set. Very happy with that due to the fact that a do think wedges and down to 8 irion is alot easier to do different swings with snd longer irions are more "one-swing clubs exept for punches for me. Exited to take them out on the course.

I just tried the T100 today. I currently play the 712 MB. The T100s feel as solid as the MBs but with more distance and forgiveness. I tried the T200 utility build but with a different shaft. I play X100 130 grams. I had the same results as you but I need to try it with the X100 and it will probably be great. The one 4 iron I hit well with the wrong shaft was great. Nice and high. I didn't get to try the T150 4 iron but seeing your results, I'd either go with the T100 or T200 4 iron and probably skip the T150.

Changed from Callaway X-22 Tour to Ping G430 a couple of months ago for similar reasons - more forgiveness and distance from less effort. Took a bit of getting used to the significantly bigger head shape but loving the extra distance. If the Titleist range had hit the market a few months earlier I definately would have tried them out as the original AP2's almost went in the bag instead of the Callaways I ended up buying. Seeing the Chrome finish on the T200 I would naturally be more interested in the T150's matt/brushed style.

Headed out tomorrow for my Titleist fitting. Trying my best to go with an open mind. Very interesting fitting for yourself, Dan. Totally understand not chasing distance to get the proper landing angle. Would have thought T150 would have been the club, but as I said, I need to reset my head to just be open to the fitting. Hoping your experience with the new sticks goes really well. I'm over the top excited for tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your experience.

  • @roadtoscratchgolf3481
    @roadtoscratchgolf3481 Год назад

Excellent video. Talking about things other than distance is good, such as launch, peak height, descent angle are very important as well as shaft selection. This reminds me of a heated debate I had with a YT instructor who was pushing jacked up lofts and more distance, who didn’t like me saying that low handicappers are not interested in more distance in their irons. That low handicappers were more interested in the very things you we’re talking about. He then came back with who doesn’t want more distance and I said we low handicappers only want more distance in our drivers and maybe our woods, but certainly not our irons. If we were only interested in distance in our irons, we and all Tour PROS would all play game improvement or even super game improvement irons., but we don’t because when we hit a specific iron we want it to go that distance only. He scoffed at this and said I didn’t know what I was talking about. I finally said, if this is what and how you teach, then you should not be teaching golf, something else maybe, but certainly not golf. Cheers

      @billdunlop8683 Год назад +1

In my Opinion you are absolutely bang on correct , I am not a low handicapper ( 62 yrs old and @ 9 handicap) but I strive on hitting my irons desired distances, When I'm 157 yrds from the pin I want my 7 iron to perform @152-154 consistently, I don't want "Hot spots" in my irons that cause 5-7 yrd variances. I will tweak and fiddle with my driver/3 wood all day long for distance and launch but my Irons distances/launch need to be consistent. Personally I could care less what the number on the club says , whether it's stamped a 5 or a 7 , It's accuracy both in distance and direction that's key.

Have had similar results trying to switch from my MBs to a more forgiving players cavity back design. I would get the occasional flier that would go 10-15 yards longer than expected. Usually long over the green into trouble. Also ended up having to play 5 wedges because of the stronger lofts.
So, I’m back in my blades and if I mishit one it is on me.
I have replaced my 4 iron with a 5 hybrid. The yardage gap between my 26 degree 5 iron and my 24 degree 5 hybrid is a little bigger than I like. Have tried replacing the 5 iron with a utility iron but it is too close to the 5 hybrid.
Experimented also with replacing the 5 iron with a 6 hybrid, but the 6 hybrid launches so high that it balloons in any sort of wind. Sold it to a friend that needed help with launching the ball and he loves it.
The MBs just look and feel so good that I’d rather play them even if they demand more from me.

I'd had my eye on the 620MBs for a couple of years, just because it's the most gorgeous iron I've ever seen. I'm not a huge fan of Titleist normally, but I finally bought a set of the 620MBs in 6-PW over Christmas. I'm a decent ball-striker, and currently a 4 hcp, but that's more due to a pretty good short game and keeping it in play off the tee most of the time. I've been surprised by how well I've hit the 620s. They're not "forgiving" by any means, but they're not really punishing unless you really get wide of the sweet spot by quite a bit. The really bad shots I've hit with them would have been awful shots with ANY iron. I've gamed other blades and smaller cavity-back irons and I always enjoy them. And I've played Hot Metal Pros and P790s and I enjoy those, too! But the control and the ease of flighting and the feel of those 620MBs is incomparable. And the 9-iron may be the ultimate bump-and-run club for me. The sole shape is perfect, turf interaction is perfect, and distance control on those longer chips just seems like a breeze. I am swapping the 6 out for a T150 and adding a T200 5-iron, though!

Interesting video but not everyone’s Titliest experience is like yours.
Last year I was “fitted” at a titliest demo day with range balls.
Your fitting cost £500 to normal golfers
    I purchased a tsi3 driver and tsi2 three wood
The driver fit was a disaster, the shaft was so wrong.
I was initially advised to purchase a heavier head weight as a remedy.
It took 6 months to finally get a refit at St Ives by titliest.
Their customer service experience was extremely difficult.
You were offered different 4 irons to take away and try out.
The result of my driver refit demonstrated i was in a suboptimal head.
Titliest eventually sent me a new shaft ….. it wasn’t even the shaft I was fit for at St Ives.
    Great company!

I’d rather be short than long with my irons. Given my inconsistency in hitting the centre, I’d not want to be cursing my good shots. Regarding blending, I’m more interested in the trajectory associated with distance, so i favour hybrids and high lofted woods for the circa 200 yard and more approaches.

Noticed after i got them alot of misses left and badly left which was never for me before. I was putting it down to extra offset in the 223.
Nope the completely wrong shaft fitted and i should have known myself to not stray from dynamic gold shafts which i have been playing for 20+ years but was going on the advice of the fitter at the time.

Question Dan; The feeling you described from the X100 shaft is what I get from everything I try to change into from my S300 (my irons are older as well, MP4 and MP64, and so maybe heavier), so what weight was that X100 shaft and why did it feel lighter than a Modus 120s? The reason I ask is I spin the ball too much with current set up and was thinking about going lighter in to X100 AMT or X100 120's, but your (excellent) review has thrown me a bit. How do Modus 120 feel heavier than anything X100?

If I were Dan, I would definitely change to T150. Hitting one iron less from same distance makes the spin actually go up. 8-iron spin T150 is for sure more than 7-iron spin T100. So 160-165 would be 8-iron with the T150. No problem. Too much Emphasis on spin. Landangle imho more important. And height definitely. Under 27 meters is low for Dans great swing. I really like his fluent swinmotion, so effortless 👍

Lovely video! What shaft did you end up in? I ask because it sounded like modus was best.. but in the sum up part of the video at the end you were holding the amt? Which I didn’t think you ever hit- unless just in the 4?

From what I can see from this and other Fitting's that have been posted on YT Titleist has finally nailed it with their latest T range👍👍
It will be interesting to hear/see how you get on with your new set-up, particularly the Modus shafts, personally, I never liked the feel of ProjectX shafts they always felt "boardy"

It was a very involved test. How many balls did you hit? Too many could be a problem for the older golfer as getting tired would give a false picture.

Titleist fittings are great. I paid 100 dollars for mine. The 100 was credited back upon purchase of club(s). One on one with the fitter. No interruption. Other OEM demo day fittings don’t charge and it’s mass confusion. Guys coming from all directions talking to the fitter. Can I hit this or that. Doesn’t work.

  • @michaelscore6763

I like your fitting videos because your numbers are so "normal " to me. You are not looking for less spin and more distance, for hitting a 7 iron 190 or more. For me that's all nonsense, control over the ball is more the key for successful golf.... To be fair, i thought about buying the old model t100 on ebay still in wrapper, but your thoughts about their feel stopped me doing this. I'm a old man and my swings speed and accuracy will not come back win the next years, maybe i get 88 mp/h with my 7 iron if I'm in good shape. Si i also thought going away from my old blades (which I love over all!) to a little bit forgiving irons with good feel and look. For all i think I should change my shaft from a DG s400 which i use since i started with golf to a 120 gramm shaft, maybe a DG 120 or a NS pro 120 - but this one in x-stiff because the stiff shaft is only 113 in weight! The Titleist man failed here! Now I will see, wait how happy you are with the new set and maybe testing some shafts... By the way : in springtime I thought about buying a new Mizuno 221 set from a friendly pro who played in his young career already the open. He also changed in a NS pro 120 stiff shaft and he told me how excellent this shafts are.... At the end the length of the 221s was a little bit to short si that i still need new clubs - this t100 with a 4 iron t150 and a iron t200 maybe?.... We will see! Have fun with your new set of clubs Dan! All the best and thanks again for your great content!

First few rounds and really enjoying the T100’s. I think the combo of shaft and head really make them feel so soft. T200 4 iron seems to be blending well 👍

Dans ego won’t let him choose a more forgiving club, and will find any excuse not to use them. I will be surprised if he chooses the 150’s despite them working really well for him.

Had a fitting and guess what? My ping G25s senior flex performed better than the t200 and t350. Fitter put me in different soft shafts and numbers were not good. Decent angle. Etc. So with that said will be staying with my ping G25s senior flex. I know now I am in the best club and shaft for me. I believe lower ball speed and swing speed newer clubs are not the answer. Older clubs will higher lofts are best. Making the lofts stronger for older players just not the right thing to do. Manufacturers are going to need to have higher lofts( go back to the way they were) and softer shafts is the right combination for slower than normal swing speeds.

Who’s the 🤡…. Guys like you get so caught up in numbers when you’re swinging with no stress. Grant Horvath will play circles around you and he just moved to Taylormade 770s and scoring better.
