Easy Zürich City Tour Summer Switzerland - Easy Walking Tour on a Budget [Travel Guide]

- Zürich is the largest city of Switzerland and one of the most visited places in the country. Zürich is very beautiful but at the same time often ranks on the top of the world’s most expensive cities. Nevertheless, Zürich can be explored on an easy walking tour. Walk around the Limmatquai, roam around the old city of Zürich; simple and easy tour on a budget. Very pretty is the Augustinergasse, this alluring alley with its many flags and colorful houses. The Limmatquai has some great photospots, especially at the Hotel Restaurant Storchen it's nice to take some photos. The lookout point at the Lindenhof is just in the middle of the old city and provides a great view over the Limmatquai, ETH and the University of Zürich. You may also see the Grossmünster (grand minster), which is the centre of the Swiss Reformation. Paradeplatz is the centre of Swiss banking, worth to just walk by and then proceed to the Fraumünster, one of Zurich's major churches. Then, cross the bridge and head to the Bellevue, which is at the lake front. On sunny days, you may see the snow mountains and many people are going to be around. The Sechseläuten square is just nearby. There, you may see the Opera house. Visit also the Niederdörfli, the best preserved part of Zurich's old city. There are many guilder houses (Zünfte) that play an important role in the history and culture of Zurich. They will march on a yearly base through the centre of Zürich on the festival called Sechseläuten. All in all, it's easy to explore Zurich just by walk and even without having to pay any entrance fee; thus an easy tour for budget travelers!

I enjoyed the video. I have been in a long distance relationship for 3 months and my girlfriend lives in Zurich. I was in the Navy and stationed in Germany for 2 yrs. While there, I took a weekend bus tour and got to visit Bern and Lucerne. She is coming here to Arizona, U.S.A. in November. Next year we will make a trip back there to Zurich to meet her mum and friends. Looking forward to visiting Switzerland again. A beautiful country 😊😊

I enjoyed your video. We are 2 middle aged couples visiting Zurich for 1 day, next week (Tuesday. It is to be hot. ☀) Could you possibly suggest any medium priced, nice places to go for dinner in the early evening? Beautiful city and country but I’m biased being born in Bern and living in Büren as a child, now living in the states the one thing I always notice in these Swiss travel videos is the absolute lack of litter compared to the largest city I live near, Seattle is probably dirtier then Swiss landfills.

Hi. You can take the train to Zürich HB, which is central. sbb.ch has the timetables. You can do this short tour easily in 3 hours.

It's a shame, you are showing Zurich perhaps in the Spring,( I assume ) and not in the summer, when it's a lot more colorful and packed with all kinds of people!! I lived in Kluzplatz and now go just about every summer
Hi Javier. The video was indeed recorded during Summer (June) 🫢 Just that in 2021, Spring and Summer were quite cold and mostly rainy. My next Zürich video will be with footage from June August and September.
@@DjemoGraphic Well, in Zurich, you just never know about the weather. I went in June 2019 in early June, weather was normally hot, went to Denmark, Sweden and Norway, left Denmark, weather was on mid 60s, landed in Kloten, it was 100, 😂
So expensive keeps the masses out and very few 3rd world people, just costs too much for them. But interesting city, just expect a fairly limited (mostly 1st world group) of tourists who can afford it.
Hi Nino. Most of the popular cities in the world (New York, Paris, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong-Kong, Tel Aviv) are expensive and Zürich is one of them. I don't think Zürich is aiming to attract large masses of tourists like Barcelona does. It seems, the current amount of tourists is just fine for them as it is. Zürich can be visited on a day trip. One can bring sandwiches along and stay in hotels in other towns. That's what I mostly would advise to people to save costs. Zürich can be explored in one day.
@@DjemoGraphic Yes I agree entirely, it's a lovely city you can investigate in a day to get a slice of Switzerland. And I think it's high costs and quiet non-Venice like nature are a benefit. No over-the-the-top cruise ships which have wrecked places like Venice and Croatia (till COVID hit anyway).

@@DjemoGraphic I was once in Zürich for a lot more than a few days. I was familiar with the Swiss sentiment already: quietly reserved, but very kind people, (no best-friends-in-10-minutes stuff! - and I didn't expect it either.) But the ones I got to know closely I just loved, and always used to think when I was there that over the mountains during WW2 people were in a safe, tolerant place. I love the country, even if my German struggles a bit with the accent and funny words! My advice is that it's a great country, and just keep it to yourselves!
