    Turkish original roughly translates to:
    Ah girl from Uşak, girl from Uşak
    Girl with lips like cherries
    Now you are being a bride
    Girl with veil on her head
    Precious girl, precious girl,
    Girl with ten arts (crafts) on her ten fingers
    Now you are being a bride
    Some lines are repeated several times.

    In the end the mixture of the cultures has produced sounds to echo in eternity. No music can stir the soul as beautifully as this. Its a pity we ve been raised to fear each other when we are so alike...

    its really really great to see that we turks and greeks can help create a common friendly culture despite what the prejudicests say about our relations! We are both mediterrenean countries and we share the same blood since the history so we should be proud of such a hospitality and share of common culture rather than letting those jerks fight over it. I really love greek culture, food, music and people! Love from Turkey!

    I do not think that is easy to find greek names of cities and music styles, because after the Turkish indepoendences or earlier, I am not sure, most places were renamed using turkish names, but still if you look in Italian or greek maps there are still names in both languages (greek-turkis name of a city. Such us Izmis in Italian and greek is Smerne/ Smirni still. So, you need an encyclopedia mostly...

    I have not much time so my info wont be detailed.
    The greeks say that in Pondus (north turkey) there used to live more that 300.000 Rums (greeks), but turkish authorities insist in much less. I am not sure. Is not an easy thing to find out,, because greeks are insisting on rum and pontiac genocieds, something that turkis are tatally unawear or disagree. So maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle, and needs a lot of search fro both sides...in case you find out please send me a message too.:D

      The Song tells us about a girl from the city of Uşak. But it doesn’t tell us if the girl is Türk or Rum. There where Rums in Uşak in the past.

    yeah, and Flavios was most propably a Roman Emperor, (Flaviopolis=city of Flavios)

  • @YiannisThiakos
    @YiannisThiakos 16 лет назад

    I like Roman and greeks times at first. Then I could say that WW II is also my favourite pariod for reeding and searching... But when I search i find allways bad sories and death, however I enjoy it... Is like all history is a blink of an eye, likea fluid that contains all the actions and creations of our kind... is very strange...
