      I have it too, but I’ve noticed that Dolby Vision/Atmos doesn’t work on the Max native Google TV app. As someone that uses HBO a lot, I’m pretty disappointed. Are you aware of this? Am I missing something? I suppose I can use some streaming stick that supports it, but as my secondary TV, I didn’t want to start plugging stuff into it. I just wanted to be satisfied with the TV apps it came with.

    • @easyrider76
      @easyrider76 10 месяцев назад

      But then you say that TCL Minileds also have worse upscaling, because I have in mind to buy TCL C805(C755) because there is no better TV available in the 50" or 43" size for a good price. They are probably the European Hisense U7KQ and the panel itself is probably ADS IPS and not VA, but the operating system is Vidaa U7 and not Google TV.

I now also notice that the TCL C805 doesn't handle the image so well with poorer image playback, but such scenes are hardly watched at all. Sony is still the god among TVs as far as upscaling is concerned, and anyone who wants a TV that will process a bad picture well should buy a Sony TV.

With high quality content the TCL looks pretty good but when watching cable or other lower quality content the C3 looks way better. It tells me the big brands are still far ahead in terms of picture processing and upscaling. I did have one question regarding the commentary starting around 19:10 (the city nightscape). The thing that struck me was not the brightness differences of the foreground tower, but how on the QM8 the back portion of the city was significantly dimmer than either of the two other sets. Also, given your observations on how quickly the Hisense image processing has improved this year, perhaps that bodes well for the about-to-ship 85UX. When you test that model I would appreciate your commenting the fact that it might not have a true 10-bit panel. Thanks again.

    Do you know anything about this? I have an LG OLED in the living room. Its native apps (and my Apple TV device) support HDR and Dolby Vision on all of the apps that use it, and it actually works.
    But the marriage of Google + Max + Hisense isn’t letting Dolby Vision/Atmos work via TV apps.

    Good afternoon! I choose TV 75". LG 75QNED916PA, LG 82UP81006LA, TCL 75C845 and Hisense 75U8HQ are now worth one dollar. Which one should I give preference to and why? Now I have an LG 65UF850V. Thanks!

    Did you test its audio passthrough capabilities? Strangely, only a handful of eARC TVs will pass through all the possible HDMI audio formats, mostly Sony; thus far it appears all eARC TVs that support all the major HDR formats either limit LPCM to 2.0 channels (not 5.1 or 7.1) or block DTS bitstreams. I was hoping the 2023 Hisense models would end that silly limitation.

    Thanks FOMO. I've been trying to find a decent 65" set for my brother in law. 95% of the usage will be 720p streamed content (TV shows, sports) via a Fire Stick or antenna. For a mid range TV, I was thinking the QM8, but the U7K is $200 less at $700 @BB. This looks to be a comparable option for less. For an OLED TV, I told him about the LG B3 for $1300. Thoughts?

    Love the reviews!! I just purchased the 75U7K. But I don’t have the ability to enable Dynamic Tone Mapping. It keeps saying unavailable. I also do not see the Backlight setting. Is this due to a software update or is it based on the content? Just confused!

    • @birdtj82
      @birdtj82 Год назад +4

      Okay the Backlight-setting , the Name has been changed to “ BRIGHTNESS 🔆 ” lol.
      The U8H “Brightness” (which is black level control) has been changed to --“Black level “
      I think for consumers,,,,its tooo confusing especially like grandparents.
      It makes so much sense tho, because a LOT of ppl did NOT know from last 3 yrs in Hisense that “Brightness” was NOT for -total panel brightness lol. It got a lot of ppl -calling Hisene blooming etc (cuz they were touching the Front light that control Black level, but forget to turn down the backlight).
      I am sure Hisense have noticed it n changed it to like simple making it just -“Brightness”, then “Black level “.
      So no more confusion. 😊

    • @birdtj82
      @birdtj82 Год назад +1

      If u just turn down Brightness level to like 60-80% depends day time or night time. Sunny room or black room with dim light, n turn down “black level” to -down to like -2 to -3 or so, (some guys like it very dramatic -5) it should be utter great. N on a -Standard MODE.
      Lol i can do it at back of my head i have 2 Hisense TVs lol. 😊

    I purchased the 65u7k which fits really well in the space. 75 inch would not fit for sure. Upgrading from a LG plasma 1080p, this TV is amazing. Trying to educate myself. One thing I noticed while watching HDR content, the Dynamic tone mapping seems to be available on only some UHD HDR content. Trying to figure that out. I have not noticed to much blooming at all. I just watch Avatar "Disney Plus" way of the water which did allow me to turn on DTM. I am so impressed with the image, colors etc.. For 700 dollars, I am glad I purchased this tv over last years model u7h. Now lets see if it lasts for 6-7 years. thanks for the info. I have not calibrated this tv so if you do, lets know the settings..thanks

    • @aumont007
      @aumont007 11 месяцев назад +2

      My reply is a little late, but just so you know, dynamic tone mapping wont be available when viewing dolby vision content, thats probably the reason why you dont have it available sometimes. Hdr10 content will allow access to dynamic tone mapping.

    There is NO bad panel here. Any of these are BETTER Value than thoes QN85B or SONY X85L 85K etc. or LG QNED. If ur OLED fan get OLED. Stop mocking MINI LED. IF u like vibrant panels, get TCL/HISENSE.
    If u have extra money to throw, get QD OLED. If u do not want burn in, get MINI LED.
    It’s like truck vs SUV vs small coup vs electronic car. 🎉Each product has its market :) 😅🎉

    Hello! I purchased a 65U7K Hisense google version late last year in 2023. The issue I'm having is when i stream MLB TV it's choppy, laggy and "broken up", it's unwatchable. It only happens in this app. I've cleared the cache, restarted the app, u istalled the app, changed all the settings from all off to all on and everything in between, tried sports mode, you name it, I've tried it, so I think. Any idea as to why all hulu, netflix, prime and peacock are perfect minus MLB] streaming a baseball game?

    I've had the U7K (75 inch) for 5 months and I'm a bit disappointed. First of all, there's quite a bit of jutter on my tv. Another thing is that whenever I wanted to watch Thursday night football on Prime, I had to watch it on another tv because it's very choppy. I went to watch the Orioles game on the MLB app. and it was unwatchable...very choppy. The picture is clear, but the colors don't punch like my old TCL R655. I liked the picture quality from that tv better, but I had just the 55". If I could trade in the tv and pay more for a better tv, I would.
