I was confused about why I didn’t have a tachometer in the dashboard, so I i dove into the settings, and I found that if you change the settings in the cluster part of your dashboard settings ( you can do that through the steering wheel in the instrument cluster) , you can actually switch your power consumption gauge to a traditional tachometer. I have an older Sonata Hybrid that works the same way and really like the way the system works. So tempted for one of these or the Santa Cruz but Hyundai’s brine problems in the last generation has me worried, even though these are newer engines. Most of their designs and features just make them so temping for the price!
On all of these cars that have the capacitive touch buttons, you should implement a glove test. "Can the buttons be touched while wearing some kind of light-duty to medium winter glove"
Just picked my hybrid limited up yesterday This vehicle is way nicer than I would have ever thought - my first Hyundai. It actually listed for $39,930 (US) which was $700 less than my 2013 Acura RDX. What value!
The signals down low wouldn't be that much of an issue if people stop with some distance in front of them, I was taught to stop to the point where the rear tires of the car in front are just visable, almost like they're sitting on top of my hood. That leaves the bumper fully visable and decreases the risk of you being pushed into the car in front when you get rear ended, It's always good to have space
Bought one of these yesterday in Red... Couple cool features they didn't mention... You can remote start this from most anywhere with the Hyundai App on your phone and set the the climate controls to set the temperature before you get in... A part of that it has a "diffuse" button which on hot days will suck the air out of the car, which also can be triggered remotely from the app... With the App you can have preset remote start parameters... I've got mine set to start, diffuse hot air, and set AC to 73... Never have to get into a hot car again... (It times out after 10mins)
I think you just answered your question in regards to the rear turning signal. You proved that if you are close to the car, you cannot see their turning signals. But by leaving more space in between you and the car in front, you can see them. I think they did that to prevent rear end collisions by increasing the gap in between cars.
Although I'm not a fan of the insanely angular look - I'm impressed that Hyundai is breaking the "crossover" mold and making something that looks unique.
2 things guys. 1. On EU version there are kids shades included. Not sure why they didn't included them also on CA version. 2. You can switch the gauges to have Tachometer on every mode from settings. I did that on my Tucson but I don't feel it's useful on the Hybrid with automatic gearbox. Probably only is you prefer the paddles. Anyway, glad you like it. I have it since December and I completely love it. For a car this spacious and heavy, to have a gas consumption around 6-6.5L per km, it's great.
Both Hyundai and Kia have come a long way within the last 10 years. They went from the laughing stock of car brands to being the nicest, safest, and most premium feeling vehicles out there. If you removed the Hyundai badging in this car it could easily pass for a European luxury crossover such as Mercedes-Benz. I think what skyrocketed their success streak was the release of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata/Kia Optima along with the 2011 Hyundai Sonata and Kia Sportage. They were radical departures from their blobby 90s and 2000s counterparts. They literally looked like upscale Japanese cars and still do to this day. Kudos to both brands for making strides to become the most recommended entry-level vehicles out there.
Wow this is one of the best 2022 suvs i seen. I cannot believe how sick hyundai made the tucson. It looks soo sick inside and outside front and rear. Wow, might be getting one. 👍
I agree with with the turn signals. People in Pittsburgh beep at me all the time and I have to tell them off and then I have to tell them to get off my butt and that it's not my fault
Well I think those turn signals are allowed to be at the lower parts because the lower parts of the SUVs actually have the similar Heights as higher parts of sedans so practically if you have hard time seeing the turn signals in the lower parts of the SUVs you would have similar problems with sedans
Rav4 prime has 300 horsepower while this has ~230. If you want performance, toyota is the better option. But for anything else, Hyundai is much better.
When you stop behind a vehicle you are suppose to leave room, enough that if you got rear-ended you would not hit the vehicle in front. The rule of thumb is far enough back to see the rear tires. So that said.....you can see the turn signals just fine.
Great review. The rear turn signals positioned so low are a real safety hazard however and the US/Canada legislation should make them illegal. Clearly an example of designers overruling engineers.
designers so attached to the low level headlights and matching or symmetrical tail lights. Consumers don't care, just put the turn signal lights with the higher up lights and leave reflectors in the bottom.
While I understand where the comment about the rear turn lights come from, it doesn't change the fact you're never supposed to be that close to the car in front of you. At a stop, you're supposed to be able to see the front car's tires. Otherwise, if you get rear-ended at a stop, you'll rear-end the guy in front of you and it'll be your fault.
I’m in this car as a rental and I can’t tell the year, so I’m going to take a guess and assume it’s a more basic model 2022\2023 and it’s still stunning. The only thing that is bothersome is it’s a little loud with the ambient traffic noise (with the windows closed). I think I’m going to get this car. I didn’t like the Toyota rav 4 body and it’s was clunky to use any of the stuff in the middle section. “Hundi” did good on this one. 😂❤

I've been driving mine for 2 months, a '22 model and it's been AMAZING. Not the hybrid model but unless I'm stuck in town, I'm getting upper 20's MPG. Highway runs, 37 MPG is doable. And that I could put a tow hitch on so easily was great. A little heavy high ride coming from an Elantra GT but still stable. Been great.
Damn that kick at 0:29 .. it won't surprise anyone of us if that gas pedal breaks after the review 🤣🤣
yea lol i could just imagine a huge fireball coming up from the footwell, dude went 0-100 real quick!!!
Thank you for bringing up that whole thing about GMs reverse lights and turn signals down low on a lot of cars. Form over function
The headlights alone sold me on this car. Loving it so far. Let's just hope there are no engine recalls like the previous models....
I’ve been checking for this video for weeks omg
If you mess around in the menus with the steering wheel buttons you can make any of the modes display RPM or the funky Charge/Power meter
I don't know why, but your guys' economy SUV videos are so much more interesting to watch than Doug's quirks and features. Not that I have anything against him, the way he points out quirks and features in interesting cars is super fun. But something about your format just works so well, even for 'boring' cars.

@@kibskibs498 Have you owned one? I find the whole reputation to be not so true. Take care of any car and it usually will do completely fine. I’m over 70,000 miles heavily modified no problems.
I mean those tires probably aren’t that great lmao
In the settings menu you can actually change the gauge cluster to show the RPMs regardless of the mode you are currently in.
How can I access it?
We just picked ours up five days ago, and have decided there is not a single feature that we can imagine wanting in a car that we didn't get in this one. Not a single complaint at this point.
Could you guys also please talk about remote start features in all your reviews? If a car comes with it or not? Like a 'remote start test'
Mine shows RPM when switching to Sport mode out from the dealer. I believe you can configure that as you like. I've not driven the car much yet, but so far I love it!
HAHAAAA! "I think everyone should cut that * bleep * out!" I 1000% agree!!!!
the whole thing of the blinkers, is if you can't see the bottom of the tires contacting the ground of the car in front of you, you're actually too close to them, when stopped
also props to you 2 from another canadian only an hour away lol. we have some great cliche corners here on highway 8 as well. but the wife and i are gonna check out rattlesnake road soon, just waiting for my oil change on teusday lol
Finally someone mentioning the lower signals and backup lights... Those gotta go.
No they aren't the problem. Quit tailgating behind them kid.
I love it is lower. I don't have this car, but when I saw a Kona with the lower signal, I was more aware of it because it is different from others. Also, how close you need to be not to see it? I have no problem seeing when I was behind that car.
Yea but the worst part is that they’re halogens on a 2022 model. Like nobody uses halogens anymore nowadays
Yuri's hoody is straight retro fire.
Is that a compact spare tire I see under the back end at about 4 min into the video? Wow! I didn't think they came with one!

I have an older Sonata Hybrid that works the same way and really like the way the system works. So tempted for one of these or the Santa Cruz but Hyundai’s brine problems in the last generation has me worried, even though these are newer engines. Most of their designs and features just make them so temping for the price!
No issue with my 17 sonata hybrid. Still love it
On all of these cars that have the capacitive touch buttons, you should implement a glove test.
"Can the buttons be touched while wearing some kind of light-duty to medium winter glove"
Just picked my hybrid limited up yesterday
This vehicle is way nicer than I would have ever thought - my first Hyundai. It actually listed for $39,930 (US) which was $700 less than my 2013 Acura RDX. What value!
How’s it holding up? I’m thinking of buying one pretty soon

Saw one in person. Looks good already in videos, stunning in person
Love the hidden leds. This looks like a big step up in design.
BINGO! I told my kids the same thing when teaching them to drive.
Honestly I don't have a problem with the turn signals and reverse lights in the lower bumper. Just drive further back.
If you can't see them, you're TOO CLOSE.
@@Keyfts Exactly! I don't get why people have a hard time understanding that.
If you have to get out of the car to use a remote to put it in the spot then the two cars you are in between will totally dent your doors.
I think you just answered your question in regards to the rear turning signal. You proved that if you are close to the car, you cannot see their turning signals. But by leaving more space in between you and the car in front, you can see them. I think they did that to prevent rear end collisions by increasing the gap in between cars.
lmao that has to be the most sinister way of subliminally enforcing that habit.
Love everything other than the gloss black.
Although I'm not a fan of the insanely angular look - I'm impressed that Hyundai is breaking the "crossover" mold and making something that looks unique.
I heard you can get the tachometer out from settings
2 things guys.
1. On EU version there are kids shades included. Not sure why they didn't included them also on CA version.
2. You can switch the gauges to have Tachometer on every mode from settings. I did that on my Tucson but I don't feel it's useful on the Hybrid with automatic gearbox. Probably only is you prefer the paddles.
Anyway, glad you like it. I have it since December and I completely love it. For a car this spacious and heavy, to have a gas consumption around 6-6.5L per km, it's great.
Hyundai coming for other companies' necks with these crazy designs 😂😂
When will you get your hands on a Kona N?
when it comes out in the fall.
You can set the tachymeter/revolutions display on the cluster in the settings
I agree with with the turn signals. People in Pittsburgh beep at me all the time and I have to tell them off and then I have to tell them to get off my butt and that it's not my fault
I'd like to see this powertrain in the new santa cruz.
Yes and please
ok done
Well I think those turn signals are allowed to be at the lower parts because the lower parts of the SUVs actually have the similar Heights as higher parts of sedans so practically if you have hard time seeing the turn signals in the lower parts of the SUVs you would have similar problems with sedans
This car would be amazing if it had the 3.3TT engine from Genesis. 9/10 though, shout out to Hyundai.
Love the way these people talk with no artificial enthusiasm
But rather frank review
Had my 2022 Tucson Hybrid for 4 days now and I'm so glad the sales guy at Toyota tried to pull a stunt with hidden fees on Rav4 Prime lol

BINGO! I told my kids the same rule when teaching them to drive.
Reminds me of a futuristic / modern version of the Venza (from 2013).
Isn't the 2022 Venza the futuristic/modern version of the 2013 Venza?
Thumbs up in terms of liking the review, not the car itself. You guys are amazing!
@@screenshotted The lower ambers seem to light the road but adding an additional set up top would be double nice.
The Honda HRV has a hybrid version and these tail lights were stolen from it.
Well done Hyundai! I have been driving Hyundai since 2003 and not driving anything else!
I💕❤ Hyundai's SUV.

You can get a tachometer for rpm. You just go to the last option in the settings on the driver cluster. You can also set it individually for all modes. 4:50
