@@Enforcer_WJDE wooooow very true you know nothing about designs cause Hyundai Kia and specially Genesis have the most design language ever than before.
@@Enforcer_WJDEI actually like that better than companies shoe horning the design into every vehicle they make, either making them look all the same, or ruining a good design by forcing other model design elements. The worst offender of this is Mercedes. Now all Mercedes look exactly the same, with only the size being different.
It's impressive seeing what Hyundai Group is doing in the EV space while all the other traditional manufacturers are floundering. Electrification is shaking everything up and the Koreans are shaping up to be one of the winners.
@@joelbaker2172 you're wrong. They make unique and interesting designs unlike competition. Camry mazda etc are all face lifts with same old boring design. They so boring and plan that I barely notice them
Interesting, was watching the review on Car Scene Korea and they were able to open up the bottom of the frunk to show a much deeper storage well with bag hooks available on the rear wheel drive model. Thanks for the 411!
Yes, the RWD model gets extra frunk storage space compared to the AWD models because the AWD system obviously requires more mechanical components up front that take up that extra space. Still looks easily large enough to store cables, adapters and a regular sized backpack or two, imo. There is also a button on the key FOB to open the frunk, which is something not all "frunk-ed" cars have.
I'll admit I'm not fond on the design much, I think it's because of the wierd fender eyebrows; but I very much respect hyundai being so bold by bringing radical designs that break the mold of boring SUV.
Perfect timing, my Wrangler 4xe lease ends next year, I'll be getting this car for family trips. I was considering an R1S but after watching a video where most body shops were asking for 40k+ to fix the rear quarter panel turned me off instantly.
This thing is nice and as a 2023 Hyundai calligraphy owner this thing looks like it has even more room specially the trunk. It looks massive but I just want a Tahoe and better a suburban with my 3 boys just getting bigger and needing more room for their things.
I like the sort of throwback styling on the rear lights. Like how back in the early 2000s there was no coloured plastic for the lights and the lights themselves were coloured
Hyundai has had a streak recently of incredible looking fronts, and controversial rear designs. Personally, I dont like the back. But it's better than the Santa Fe. Great video guys, very glad to see you guys getting invited to pre production reviews 👍🏻
The taillights are Volvo-esque. The overall design is cool, I would definitely opt for this over the EV9. The Telluride was nicer than the Palisade though, so good job Hyundai.
The best way I can think of to describe this is Daft Punk in the front and Volvo in the back. Which is a strange sort of mullet. I don't like it, but I like that Hyundai is willing to build something this goofy.
The range of the single motor version is 532km. The performance model with dual motors has the range over 500km. This car can be applied to chage the home in case of black out. Tesla NACS port and OTA are installed. CCS chager is also applicable with adapter.
What’s that smaller looking one in the back? 👀 At this point Hyundai might as well steal the competition and come out with a Ionic 2 or 3 that tops out at $35k
The brake light thing guys I believe is because you have to have separation from the high mount light from the 2 main ones, leaving some leds off during braking was a free way to do that while having the solid bar for the lights
Yesterday I posted on another channel that I did not like this vehicle; I thought it was ugly. But, after watching more videos, I can say this is starting to grow on me lol. I currently own a Palisade Calligraphy, and I was anxiously awaiting the launch of this Hyundai. I don't really like that black bar running along the sides of the SUV, however. It would look better if it was body colored instead. Hopefully Hyundai will fix that in post-production. Also, there is a black space between the drivers display and the functional display of the consult that seems like wasted space. Hopefully, Hyundai will fix that also. I will attend the LA Auto Show next week and see this in person. I think overall Hyundai has come a long way and offer the best value for your money.

Anyone saying this looks like a Volvo has absolutely no artistic sense. They're exercising their basic non designer brain. It's like when someone has zero musical ears and tries to claim that all classical music sounds the same.
Great that it is NACS. But why is the charging port on the opposite side to a Tesla? It will be a problem at most Tesla chargers. The charge port should either be in the front passenger's side, the very front, or on the driver's side rear as in a Tesla.
Not crazy about its exterior, but if it comes in significantly cheaper than an R1S or Cadillac Vistiq, this will be my top contender. Presumably it will be similarly priced to an EV9, which I like the interior and tech much better on this Ioniq 9.
Unitium? If Fisker, GM and Hyundai had 3some. That car looks wild. I thought Rivian, with their R3X, had the compact offroad EV market of lockdown, but that Unitium looks like a show stopper!😮 Hope you guys get to review it.
It looks like this has the same problem with the 360° camera that the Kia’s do: things that are close look WAY TOO CLOSE. That makes it hard to use in a parking lot.
I'm. Sold. The amount of room in the 3rd row is the biggest concern I had for a 3-row EV, and this is the first one that's (should be) reasonably priced and fit adults in the rear. I drive a Palisade, and this is the first EV SVU I've wanted to switch to. Worth the wait. I hope KIA sold enough EV9s because this is way better. Thanks for the review guys!

Very strong Volvo V70 vibes from the rear. Another great looking EV from Hyundai
like Honda CR-V
My thoughts exactly
I had the same thought. I'm not a big fan of the design. I'm more interested in that Pontiac Aztec looking thing in the background.
Not a fan of the proportions looking from the rear quarter panel.
I was just thinking that...
I love how Hyundai's not afraid to try controversial designs.. i mean it does look like a stretched higher wagon like a volvo but I still like it.
Hyundai doesn't really have any design...that's the problem. No identity.
