Great review. If you’re traveling with data, it’s definitely worth it for the peace of mind. It works well for transferring data between my MacBook, iPad Pro, and Galaxy phone. Only negative is the drive tends to get hot after a while.

I have ordered a T7 touch as it was cheaper than the regular T7. Currently T5's are around the same price as a T7 so a T7 definitely makes much more sense as a T5 is around the 550mb/second mark compared with 1050 mb/sec with the T7.
I got the 2TB a couple days ago. On my newest laptop I got about the same read and write speeds as you. On a slightly older laptop I actually got what Samsung claims as max speeds. But, on both laptops it is very unreliable. if trying to watch GoPro videos stored on it would disconnect every few minutes. I tried editing video stored on it and it would also disconnect every few minutes. It's very frustrating. This is the first item I'm returning back to BH Photo. I've tried all kinds of settings, and with and without security.
Hi Thanks for the great review. Can i confirm that as long as i have set my fingerprint on T7, i will be able to use the SSD on any laptop or mac even when the Samsung software is not installed in them?
I was able to set the security setup on a mac, but was not able to complete the firmware update. The setup kept insisting to close any apps running, but none were accessing the drive. Other than that I’m pleased with the drive.
* For FW updates, security mode needs to be OFF. Any access to T7 Touch, including copying/deleting /formatting partition, while FW is being updated, may cause abnormal behavior of or damage to the T7 Touch
If wanting to access my files from this SSD on someone else's PC/Mac, I do not need to download Samsung software on theirs? Just plug in, fingerprint/pw, and can instantly read/write?
Late to the party, but no, it will automatically pop up a new window with the read partition. The led will blink, simply touch the fingerprint sensor and it will switch to the files stored on there. Since the comment is 2 months old I guess you already solved it, it not, you're welcome.
Truly Samsung Sucks for Face/Fingerprint Recognition Hate my Note 20 ultra for that reason and just picked one of these up will see if its another Samsung Hate peripheral !..Lol
Good review. I just picked up 5 of them.. Paid $129.00 each ... Storage-wise, I just wish they would make them bit bigger, about 5TB in size

Using a Mac I am able to use the fingerprint sensor passcode word whathaveyou without having the Samsung software installed. Same with work computer.
