Amazingly this guy was never a cyclist before the trip, but he became a cyclist on the trip. This is an excellent film which deserves millions of views. Much enjoyed,
I've read your comment before watching the video, the first thought in my mind, have been a cyclist for decades, was... how on Earth did his knee hold up? It is too much for someone who doesn't have the tendons or muscles to protect it. I hope he used a splint or was someone who worked out legs a lot, otherwise I see knee problems on the horizon.... I am writing this 2:20 when he talks about those knee problems. Cycling this much is not for everyone.
@@ilyauneroute8944 Hi , it is all about progressions. A rule that is valid for all areas of physical activities. Before you try anything with your body, make sure you are comfortable with the previous progression. Our minds can cope with a lot and pretty fast, but our bodies, muscles and most of all tendons need quite some time to adapt to a new task. You can do it without training the progressions but you run a very high risk of a serious injury.
tbh, all the people in the video didn't do any of this and they seam pretty terrific most folks are great and warm-hearted, it's just that most of us are attracted to a bit of drama and misery. maybe it's meant to put your own situation into perspective... but really, people kind of are amazing by default.
Snow, rain, gravel, dogs, wilderness, solitude, numb fingers, dirt, sleeping rough, charity, border crossings, big country... a magic audiovisual diary of a terrific bike ride from Paris to Semei in Kazakhstan along the Silk Road - the Tajikstan trail through the high passes at 5000 m altitude is gob smacking ... congratulations on a great achievement and wonderful handmade film, toujours avec le sourir ! Bravo !
It gave me goosebumps when I hear "Neset Ertas - Yolcu" song when you're in Turkiye. Such an amazing journey man. Tears rushed to my eyes several times. I'm speechless, so inspirational.
Thank you very much for the music you used while passing through Turkey and for making this beautiful video. I'm glad I came across this video, all over the world is beautiful ❤
Ibrahim Malouf was so perfect there! It's really funny becasue a few years ago, during my first solo cycling trip I used to listen to him as well! I was also cycling for an entire year, including winter in europe, totally unsupported. It was an overwhelming experience that changed me forever. Loved your video, it brought many memories to my mind.
You have a good taste in music. Anyone who plays Ry Cooder and Ali Faka Toure and Harare has soul in his bones! Love your adventure, keep on cycling!!!
This was one of the best videos I've viewed on YT out of the thousands I've seen. Very genuine. Merci. Paul de Vallenger Gilbert (Kiwi with French Heritage)
The yt algorithm sent you my way. Congrats on your amazing journey!!!! Something you won't soon forget, I am certain!! Thanks for all of your efforts in creating this fantastic documentary. To many more roads and adventures ahead!!! Best, Rob

wow, what a pity the algorithm didn't introduce me sooner to your travel report! That was such a pleasure to watch. Some great shots, a down to earth guy and no unnecessary drama talk. Super amazing!😊
as a fellow bikepacker I greatly enjoyed the variation you so well presented us in changing landscapes, weather conditons (!) and cultures and environments, not forgetting all the hardships this kind of expedition is full of. Also the fact you embarked on the journey with no experience and pushed on with your sore and aching knees...Congratulations !! 🥳
Beautiful scenery, I admire your courage first for the impressive journey, second for having the patience to film all of it, despite how annoying sometimes this can be, to stop, film, go back start again.. Then third for doing this in the winter!! This is insane my friend, shorter days and freezing temperature gave you some more of a challenge during the process. My biggest respect goes to you.
Fantastique video.
This is a so inspiring and entertaining video, thank you! Respect from Hungary! I really enjoyed the variety of landscapes along the journey, some really amazing terrains out there. I also noticed the song around 3:00 - a Hungarian woman is singing in it, it was a nice surprise to hear.
It is an amazing adventure of a lifetime? You where brave to tackle all the different terrain and circumstances that you met and went ahead until unfortunately you could not enter or pass through the Russian border. Bravo I admire your tenacity. Be well greetings from Oregon USA.
4:16 I was on a school ski trip here in Obertauren a few years ago! Cool to see you ride through there, it's a beautiful part of the world. I believe we rented skis from the intersport behind the camera lol
Amazing story and journey Paul. Truly inspirational. I hope your knees have fully recovered and that you got your well-earned shower after getting back home. Much love from the UK!
All credos to you man! I just did a two day trip and that was a big deal for me, can't imagine how you could keep motivated, not to mention fuelling! Thanks for sharing your adventures!!
Great video. You took on a huge challenge! Well done. (Also, at around minute 5:00, Ry Cooder and Ali Farka Toure off their album "Talking Timbuktu", was a great choice!)

C'etait incroyable, vraiment manifique.
Wow, what an impressive trip. And what epic pictures you created! Awsome. They are worth the effort to pass the camera and go back to pick it up. Wonderful scenes. Thank you for showing us. 🤙
Meet this guy in Split-Croacia, I couldn’t believe he was actually doing in the winter, amazing

If you have never ever had a ride before or just even a small trip, it's insane.
