      @EcoAcid given their price range and location ,uS base youtubers won't be able to obtain one of these magnificent machines for review. Also, due to this particular build out ,this isn't a regular scooter by far . You are more than likely to be in need of a license two operate openly ,unlike most scooters . Please correct me if eye'm incorrect.

    • @MrLou345

      @@raymondpinckneyii3053 People don't realize that part of the reason these are expensive is the cost of shipping them half way around the world. My Sonic FedEx shipment was $5,000. So if you deduct that from the price (which is included) you will get the actual cost of the scooter. Outside of Korea, these will never be allowed on the streets (not in the U.S. anyway). While they meet some standards of a motor vehicle (lights, horn, turn signals, emergency lights etc) they are in the "moped" class in California where I live. A Moped not not require a license to operate but you must have a license to use one, which is weird. Although WEPED will be coming out with VIN numbers shortly, you won't be able to plate them or use them like a car. Most states that I have checked out are a long long way from making these legal like a motor cycle but who knows what will happen in the future. These scooters are not meant for off road riding. They are the Lambo's of scooters.

    • @MrLou345
      @MrLou345  Год назад +2

      @@vettedsin Ok, so the FF2 and FS are small but that are fast. The problem with small scooters (I've had about 8 or 9 of them before getting the WEPED Dark Knight, and now the Sonic) is any wheels that are smaller then 14 inches have wobble issues no matter what brand you buy. It's the science of wheel diameter and speed. The faster you go on small wheels the more unstable the scooter gets. You don't have that problem once you get to 14, 16 or like the Sonic 20 inch tires. Speed is relative so if you don't plan on going more then 30mph on the FFS or FF then your golden.

      The mount for my gopro has two parts. The first is the handlebar holder for the camera but on top of that is my extender battery holder that the gopro sits in (a self contained battery). I don't have any issues with the jitter of the picture but I do have an issue with the camera sometimes moving by itself because of the weight of both the camera and extender. No matter how tight I make it, it stills moves. I could mount it to my helmet but I don't like that idea because some of the trails have low hanging tree branches and that's not a good thing.

    Rider guide is based in Silicon valley and they do their range and speed tests on the road at all times. Have you even tried to ride it on the streets? I don't think they're nearly as restrictive as you think. That's a bunch of bologna that this wouldn't be allowed on highways though, a huge bummer, especially because this one can keep up with highway traffic. I want one. I'm extremely bummed about that.
    How long does it take to charge that beast though? Thank you if you decide to answer me

    • @MrLou345
      @MrLou345  11 месяцев назад +1

      To answer your question, you need to understand how California is setup. Each city has there own scooter rules, aside from the CA DMV. An example is Santa Clarita, where I live is very strict. They do not allow any renatl scooters like Lime and Byrd at all, while in Santa Monica they do and have very relaxed rules on where you can ride them. Both city's are in Los Angeles county. That's the problem. I have to ride a couple of blocks on the streets to get to the bike paths. They are the only place where you can ride them where i live. It's craxy but that's the way it is, like it or not. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge from 60 volts (min) to max at 84 volts fully charged using 15A fast charger.

    • @ghrocker99661
      @ghrocker99661 11 месяцев назад

      4 hours is extremely fast, that's awesome! With such a large range, that's such a shame it has to be this way. If it wasn't, then you would easily be able to drive between Santa Clarita and anywhere in Orange county on a single charge. Thank you for taking your time to explain everything to me. @@MrLou345

      It's very useful when stopped at a light when using single motor. If you just lightly touch the throttle when in dual mode, the scooter will just take off and if your not prepared for that jolt, you or the scooter will get hurt 100%, full stop. Remember, this is basically a standup motorcycle that will do over 100mph. @MrLou345  Год назад +1

      @@p3dtesla118 Yes, the Sonic S has 20" wheels. The question you have about speed, not sure anyone would want to go 100mph+ on a scooter. Can you do it, sure, mine has the ability but in Los Angeles where I live, There is nowhere to go that fast as they are not allowed on the streets without bike lanes. the speed limit is 20mph in a bike lane and/or bike path where I ride. If you were to attempt this in a city, the cops will have a field day with you and gladly confiscate your $20,000. scooter and you will never see it again. I can go 35-45mph for a distance of about 150 miles. But there are factors to take in consideration - I have the external battery, that helps me achieve this, as well as a single/dual motor switch that I can press and go added distances. I weigh 150 pounds as well as I try and not use big hills if I want more range - it's all a compromise - go fast less distance, go slow more distance.
