I just bought this car for family of 4 of ours. Really love it. It drives sportly when we need and smoothly when we want also. Very roomy and packed with features that the Golf for example doesn’t have
My girlfriend just bought this car, pre-used. And let me tell you, we love it. The suspension is a bit stiff, but driving on normal roads this won't be a problematic factor. You can also adjust it easily to "sport mode" and it becomes a small, little beast. Don't listen to the BMW-critics shaming it for the looks - or the FWD. It's a good looking car compared to others in the same class. We first thought about cars in the golf-class, a i30, Golf or A3. We settled with this one, it's just a little bit bigger and surely is a MPV, but the feeling is no way near driving a "mini-van". The BMW enthusiasts will of course diss this model. With their chauvinistic macho-approach, they are afraid that the BMW-brand will transform and get slandered. Don't buy into this crap, it's a good car, specially for a small family with kids. On the second hand market you can find the 2-series models pretty cheap. The diesels are very economic considering their horsepower, but in reality the fuel consumption is greather compared to on the papers...we clock it around 0,5 - 0,55 liters per mile (no english-miles). Also, you can for around 500 Euros get it chip-tuned, and push this bad boy to around 190 HP.
I have an Active tourer 220D X-drive Luxury Line and it is fantastic! Test this model and you won't want a 3 series! The diesel consumption is a lot better than the 2016 Audi Q3 I had before it. A people carrier that does 0-60 in 7.3 seconds with a 140 MPH top speed that handles well is quite a good compromise. There is much more space inside than the Audi or an X1 and with the back seat down it is like a small van even when its a smaller car! You won't get a more enjoyable people carrier anywhere else!
Nice to see, just said goodbye to a F31 and will try soon a F45 220D M-Sport. Reason ? Compact, higher seats and it invites more to drive more relaxed. Hope to save on speed tickets.....
BMW Active tourer price starts from £26k to £36k and not as you mentioned £22k , these cars are targeted for family and elderly customers as these cars are more spacious and they will pay good money for it, who ever sits in the back middle seat will no longer be squeezed and can have their legs spread out, thanks to the front wheel drive and have plenty of legroom. You wouldn’t buy this car because you’re not in BMW targeted customer range.
What the hell is wrong with BMW? Every review have negative report of the run flat tires they adopted. For a premium brand and using tires that almost all drivers avoid having is a damn silly move.
I’ve got this car, beautiful every time I hop in it. Although negatives ....,There’s a blind spot to your front right which annoys me. Sure as hell feel pot holes and speed humps. The steering is so stiff. We have 3 drive options sport, eco and comfort. How do I make the steering more responsive? Car is for those that want European premium and slightly bigger than average hatch. Steering is my main concern how can I make it more fluid?
You're dead right about the A pillar blind spot on the RHS. I've had my 218d for 5 years and I'm always VERY careful at roundabouts - the A pillar is so thick that if a car is at a certain point on the roundabout, the A piilar is so thick that you won't see it! Don't know about the stiff steering - I find it's spot on for me (I don't like it too light). Maybe you should get yours checked by BMW?
why you buy this shameful creation, made by idiotic designer, not well made, NOTHING like any BMWs ever, not good overall, not practical when compare to the 3/5/X4/X5/X7, not to mention that you already got the 3 series
Really good car had 1 for 3 years it was faultless. Other German manufacturers make front wheel drive cars so whats the big deal if bmw has done it? Dont forget it gives more space inside which is what matters to those who have families you will only notice the difference between front and rear wheel drive when your driving around laps fast. Hardly anyone drives that way on the streets.

Same situation here, and I would second what you said!

@Camilo Xander No problem :D
I have an identical model, however having all extras & bmw packages. Wonerful, comfortable & most practical car to drive.
Just bought this car, 1.5 petrol used with 30k miles, enjoying it

Do you prefer Bmw Active Tourer 218i or Vw Golf SV 1.5 Tsi? Can you specify the prominent (+) and (-) sides?
Would this car be good for someone 6ft 2?

Yes strangely I have found driving many BMW's it's like they don't really have power steering, almost truck like?

The car may be slow, but the car is a really good car.
Turn the recirculation off, mupet... all windows steamed up and driving like SMIDSY too I guess...
Hi. Where is the video with the 5 things you hate ?
Thanks
Hey Paulo, I did 5 things I 'hate' about the 2 series if you want to watch my video on it?

Thanks, Thomas
Exactly, how about BMW should NEVER have entered this segment of front wheel drive Picassos, Zafiras, Scenics and Zafiras. Shame on you BMW
This guy tells me all the things he likes about the car, then tells you he wouldn’t buy one new or second hand. What’s the point?
