  • BUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A BMW 2 SERIES ACTIVE TOURER FROM OSV: bit.ly/2ZzuRwj
The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is the ideal if you want something just as capable as mainstream mini-MPVs, but which has added badge appeal, an upmarket interior, as well as more class, glamour and power.
There’s no denying that the strengths of the 2 Series Active Tourer are what people generally want from a car like this: Comfort, frugal engines and a top-notch interior that offers lots of space. The thing some buyers might need to wrestle with the most is the price tag.

Picking one up next weekend after driving Skoda Octavia VRS estates (dsg)for the last 10 years. 220D in M trim after a good test drive. Choose it over the ever popular X1 as it feels more car like but with the added bonus of a more ‘bad back friendly’ seating position. Good review 👍🏻

I’ve had one for 6 months now think it’s a nice drive good handle easy in the city traffic and cruises on motorways happily, plus the easy of carrying all my stuff about its excellent had a cmax in the past and build quality is far better, I bought it because it is what it is, an excellent mini mpv, not because it’s got a BMW badge on it.

I have the 2015 218d auto. I must say it’s very very good car. The diesel engine is very refined and smooth. I had a 218i petrol sport, but was not keen on the seats. I found the seats and ride to be firm. I exchanged it for the 218d se auto, and found its better car. Be aware though as cruise control does not come as standard. If your car has front parking sensors then chances are you will have cruise control as they come in a pack. Check on the steering wheel. Is a cracking car and worth the money.

The ride in the Sport and the SE is the same it is the 16" rims on the SE that improve the ride.

I have a new 220d AWD Grand Tourer 7 seater and it's Brilliant, it's comfortable, very quick with the 8 speed auto and excellent on fuel, 42 mpg around town and well over 50 at 70 mph cruising on motorways. The engine is only doing 1700 RPM at 70 so it's no wonder it's good on diesel, I have done just over 8,000 miles from new and it's getting better all the time, if you put it in Sport Mode and use the flappy paddles to change gear its rapid for a two litre diesel. The engine never seems to be working hard and the 8speed auto box is superb changing up and down without any fuss. In wet or slippery conditions the 4WD is great never loosing traction and goes exactly where you want it too. I've had many cars with auto boxes but None as good as this one it's superb in every way, you can just toodle along or let rip when the roads permit the cars not fussed either way but it always feels safe in any situation. I was going to get an X-1 but when I saw this changed my mind because of the extra boot space being the 7seater.

Power Flawless. If you are thinking of getting one test drive the 2ltr diesel with the auto box, you won't be disappointed plus over 600 miles on a full tank on a long journey without any of this Charging Nonsense you get with Electric vehicles. After driving mine it'll take a lot of persuading for me to go electric, these petrol hybrids are Not that good on fuel on long journeys when you can only do 30miles on electric then it's petrol all the way.

Drove all generations of x3 and e60 now my stepdad has 2019 active tourer 218d and its really like driving in 220d x3 but the 225d of the e60 was a 6 cilinder beast so e60 best i drove but the active tourer and x3 are very comparable and comfortable just the back booth is half the size of x3

Good review of a good car. Underrated in my opinion.
This is a great choice for small families, which offers practically, good space and economical especially for city driving.
Nice easy and no hassle driving for school runs, shopping or on a trip.
More non families, couples are also using.
The 218i automatic 1.5 petrol which has TwinPower Turbo is much more powerful than it's rival in the same class, for e.g. Mercedes Benz B class. It has a lot of power for the size.
The interior is well designed, looks and feels premium.
Not sure why people writing this car off without actually owning and driving it.
No, it's not a Mini, it's a BMW. Why do you need rear wheel drive and why compare it with a 3 series?
The Porsche Macan uses VW platform, is Volvo Chinese and Jaguar is Tata?
A 2 or 3 year old car will be a great value.

Yup, preconceived ideas are to blame. Bmw (at least in eastern European countries) is more of a status symbol/statement for most, many buy cars they don't need, just for the sake of showing off and to impress. And those who dismiss this car are doing it without driving one like, out of plain ignorance. Most likely those who drive older rear wheel drive BMWs and have the classic 2.0 diesel engines and pretend front wheel drive and 3 cylinder are non BMWs, don't understand what progress means. Besides, you can get the active tourer as 4wd too...

Yes, a parcel shelf is available with this vehicle, if you're looking at a used vehicle where one isn't fitted, you could visit your local BMW Retailer or find one online.

Can you clarify if the BMW Active Tourer has a rear windscreen wiper or not? (I have read comments that say it doesn't have a rear windscreen wiper - and others that says it is mounted in the top spoiler)

    • @zeab47

Definitely has a rear wiper. It’s hidden inside the rear spoiler.

    • @thedarkknight8203
      @thedarkknight8203 4 года назад +1

Yes it does its hidden under the back spoiler no car except older cars have no rear wipers surely because of safety I have the the 2019 model auto rain sensors frustrating when it goes faster thinking its heavy rain when it's a drip so that to me is a down side you can turn it off or turn the speed down but if you are on a busy wet motorway you don't want to be fucking around trying to adjust it but the drive is smooth a bit sporty feel although I have the m model so obviously they tried to get it sporty but front wheel drive well bmw are known for rear wheel drive and I prefer it more fun but they go nowhere in the ice or snow I think the front wheel drive might go further in the ice
