The officers did exactly what they are supposed to do and the arresting officer clearly explained why it was happening with another officer saying they could talk more after it was already explained.
They definitely hooking her up when they arrested her. Makes for more money in the settlement for emotional duress etc., bond, etc. they lowkey hooked her up and let her know it wasn’t her fault. Bad part is even if she doesn’t sue they’ll find a way to terminate her as retaliation
This makes me angry.😡😡😡 This is ridiculous. She was totally in compliance with the officer’s, so why are they putting handcuffs on her and why not wait until JB Hunt got this straightened this out? JB Hunt needs to step up and get this taken care of now.
Yeah, too bad the officers didn't hang out with her until it got straightened out. I mean, it has only been 7+ months and there looked to be a gas station right across the street that could be used for some snacks and bathroom while they waited.
Power trip. A similar situation happened to a YT trucker a few years ago. In his vlog he was pulled over by police for a “stolen” trailer. Long story short the police had him return the trailer to the distribution center he picked it up from. They escorted him back there and that was it. They understood that mistakes was made and it wasn’t on the driver.
Alex...GET THIS DRIVER A GOOD LAWYER. She will make great money from the PD. The officer that arrested this person and their supervisor made a big big mistake. The follow up detective had to apply for a warrant. It was very e-z to contact JB Hunt and find out if she was a theft suspect.
The arresting officer did exactly what they were supposed to do. People need to get off the idea that the officer on the side of the road being at fault. In the clip shown he clearly explained what he was doing, and why. He was following what procedure tells him to do, based on the information he has. Place the blame in the right place. Stop trying to drag in people who are just doing their job and are not at fault for what lead to that point.
@@RealzFoSho- the information he had, told him this was a company driver, who is NOT responsible for verifying her company or their customer is not providing her “stolen equipment” If she had just picked up that trailer from someone selling it that would be one thing, but as soon as the VIN came back as not being the stolen trailer, then they had no case, other than her being in possession of a stolen license plate, that she did not put on that trialer, and could not be expected to verify against the VIN, in ANY sort of normal business practices. She never drove a stolen trailer, only one with the license plate from a stolen trailer, that was likely swapped by whoever stole the stolen trailer.
@@orcoastgreenman Literally written in the rules that you are responsible as a driver, company or not, to verify the information for the equipment you are operating. VIN and plate are printed right on both the registration and insurance for the trailer. You are legally required to verify it and ensure your registration, plate, trailer, and insurance are all correct and in order before hauling the trailer. How does the officer know that she didn't put that plate on the trailer? There was a chance she wasn't innocent and arresting her is the step an officer takes to get her to court so the folks there can gather all the information, hear her testimony under oath, and make a ruling. This isn't complicated stuff and it is a bit alarming that it seems so many are failing to understand it.
That lady should have never been taken into custody. The stolen property should have been confiscated unless they knowingly or seen her steal the trailer or plate. This is another case of they know the charge against her won’t stick but let’s mess up her background. Now she has to put forth money and time to have the arrest removed from her background.
Hunt is trying to get her to come back, she said so. Hunt will sneak in paper to sign so she can't sue them. Hold her ground and get good counsel. JB Hunt is manipulative!
JB Hunt didn't do anything. The plates were wrong and if that's the case the leasing company screwed up or just didn't know and the cops should actually be sued because arresting her was extreme when they clearly knew she wasn't guilty of a crime.
All the above should be sued. She said she had her BOL but didn't say she verified the info on it. I assume she verified. I think cops knew ahead of time about stolen trailer status and waited for someone to hook and roll with it. Cops don't go around checking on stolen trailers, that story doesn't make sense.@@CIVL901
As an Ex-JB Hunt driver, the BOL shows the trailer number and the seal. You must verify those first before attaching anything to your truck. If those are correct and the trailer was indeed reported stolen, then management failed and a lawsuit should be filed
Well trailer number yeah but I don't know about seal. If the trailer is in the door or backed butt up to another trailer you gotta hook up to it to pull it out
The point of misunderstanding is about the license plate. The trailer is verified by the BOL however as we have heard Alex speak about the ineffectiveness on both sides. However in case of the licensing plate the original trailer that plate belongs to could possibly be stolen 🤷♂️
reminds me of rental car companies reporting cars stolen, when it is lost in the system, but many lives were f up, smh, protect yallselves yall, lawyer up and study law on the side, smh
That was handled in the dumbest way, I don't care for jb hunt but, arresting the driver was 100% dumb! Driver is going to get a good lawyer and lawsuits are coming!
problem is, none of these lawsuits ever really effect the officer, it's only a penalty on tax payer dollars since this is how the police are payed, kind of stupid that you can't sue the individual police officer if you ask me, it's the same for any other government official, they don't get sued, the government get's sued which is tax payer funded.
100 % right, incompetent cops.. don t go for the manager or ceo of jb , that s to dangerous ..go for little one . Inaccurate investigation and numerous trips to the court just shows how incompetent the all system is .. they don t know who to blame.
Sounds like a huge lawsuit for unlawful arrest. She needs to hire a civil rights attorney though because a regular trial lawyer won’t get her the money she deserves.
Idk what to say about this... im dumbfounded. I currently drive locally for j.b.hunt and have worked for them for over 6 years. This issue has nothing to do with the driver. How is the driver being held accountable for this? The ownership of the trailer and the leasing agreement/licensing of the trailer all falls on the company. Im kinda angry with the company on why they arent taking responsibility for it and coming to the drivers aid. Im gonna bring this up to my boss tomorrow and run it up the chain to see what is said about it. Very bad message to send your drivers to just throw this girl under the bus and let her deal with the consequences. Ill find another job.
So, what would JB Hunt do if every driver called in the vin and tag of every trailer to the local PD before they hooked? If JB is not standing behind the driver and claiming that the driver is somehow responsible, then the drivers need to check every trailer. This will swamp the cops ( especially Perth Amboy ) and cost JB Hunt lots pf lost time. And all they have to do to stop it is do the right thing and stand behind their drivers when mistakes get made.
Not that cop trying gas light the fact that she was getting arrested and have a case to fight it in court!!!! Although she’s clearly innocent and unaware of the fact that it’s “stolen” or wrong “plates”… That’s just ridiculous!! It’s the fact that she would’ve have to live with that record for the rest of her life even though she’s innocent! Hope not only she wins, but countersue!! That’s going to be time and money she’ll definitely lose out on!!!
Typical treatment from management, no support for the driver, kiss the law's butt , ex J.B. Hunt driver and glad of it.She needs a good lawyer and some Jenny Craig.

Most companies pull other trailers ive had to lower my standards and pull a jb trailer at times but these cops shod of checked reg. And serial stamped number on trailer i know we had at times wrong plates on our trailers they get messed up sometimes
I drive for JB as a owner operator JB has a big contract to pull Home Depot’s freight and from my experience that i ran across is that when a load is loaded on any trailer that isn’t from the division that a driver is in or a different trailer that it’s NOT a JB trailer the driver CANNOT pull it unless the driver calls JB to get it authorize to pull that trailer or the driver cannot pull it
I’d be asking questions about the trailer. Didn’t see any JB Hunt decals on the trailer that there’s a dead giveaway. I’d be on the phone to dispatch. I’ve already heard some of the horror stories about JB Hunt and this one seems like a nightmare. Wishing this driver the best of luck and the settlement’s a big win.
Because someone not doing their job in the office cause this! This big mega carriers ain’t ---. Somebody got to pay for their mistake! 🤦♂️ this is sad! This is the new America.
It's not about the BOL or load. It's about the trailer being reported stolen. Bowman could have brokered the load with JB Hunt to haul their load in their trailer and that's why they are pulling it. If I was her I would show that JB Hunt dispatched me to pull that trailer. I know they wouldn't care but it would show I didn't take a trailer without permission.
I have a tow truck company back here in California we tow a lot of JB Hunt and Bowman trailers a lot of time JB Hunt loses track of the trailers they lease from Bowman Bowman reports the trailer stolen in order to find their trailers I've had California CHP come to my yard many times looking for a Bowman trailer that was reported stolen
This reminds of what happened to a Schneider driver years ago. That driver was arrested for picking up a loaded trailer in Laredo,Texas that full of drugs. Schneider left that driver to fend for himself. So to make a long story short, that driver is now a millionaire. 0:17
Utter incompetence by the police. This is why local cops should stay out trying to enforce trucking related issues if it's not an emergency. She should have never been arrested. I'm a driver manger at a trucking company and depending on where the trailer was leased from its hard to keep track if the trailer is goes out of state or network. Eventually an alert goes out to track it down but depending on where it is companies will try to get the unit loaded in order to bring it back. You don't make money hauling empties. If it was a mix up with the plates then it's the leasing companies fault and not JB Hunts. The cops still never should've arrested her.
Most police in America have no respect for working class people! They know most of them can't afford a good.lawyer and they will make a plea deal for you even if you are not guilty of some low hanging fruit offense! Hmmm Liberty and Justice for all?????
Omg! If I were a judge I would drop this. These cops need to be investigated for incompetence! I could see them having it unhooked and towed away but why do that to her 😢😢😢
The cops did exactly what they are supposed to do and there is good reason that she got arrested and booked. That way we all know she saw a judge, who actually has the job of judging whether or not someone is guilty (unless a jury is requested). Blame needs to stop being placed on the officers. They did exactly what they were supposed to do and seemed to be doing it very professionally and with some kindness. Blame needs to start with the court system taking so long to sort this out for this lady.
@RealzFoSho You have clearly never heard of officer discretion. They didn't have to make an arrest. They certainly didn't need to handcuff her. They could've deferred to the prosecutors office.
@@JMosUndefeated Again, they did what they are supposed to do. Some serious armchair quarterbacking going on for someone who was simply doing their job the way they are trained to do it. I know what officer's discretion is. This is possession of stolen property, and we aren't talking about a Snickers' bar. Smart discretion is an officer covering their rear by doing what the law says in arresting the person in possession and letting someone more qualified to make a judgement. Someone who has access to, or can demand (not just request) from prosecution, all the evidence. Most of the time rolls of paper don't move much. But you still want friction mats just in case. I would expect an officer to cuff a person they might personally believe is innocent for the very same reason, just in case. They might have it wrong in their judgement of innocence, but they also might have it right and still run into a problem if the person isn't cuffed. Innocent people can be unstable in situation like that and put others at risk.
@@RealzFoSho She is an employee for a company and had a b.o.l. for a load and she stopped for an officer. It is extremely low chance of actual theft here. A highly likely scenario is a paperwork error up the company chain. It would be like if your company sent you some tools or laptop and then report it missing. Would you want an officer to arrest and handcuff you for a mix up on paperwork?
As a someone that is part of the trucking community and someone that has been in the system in my younger day's, these Leo's did way to much. First off, if it's a "ticket", you don't take no one into booking for a ticket, second, placing cuffs on a non threatening, non combative woman is ridiculous. Now, they do have to put cuffs on you while in transport to the station, but they also could have placed them in front. Also since she was local they could have gaven her an opportunity to move the truck to a safe location. Now JB will not own up to this (obviously) and their argument will be, once our driver's pick up a trailer, company owned or otherwise, it is their responsibility to ensure everything is in working order and everything matches. Let's keep it 100, who the hell ever checks the registration to a trailer to make sure the plate matches? I'll wait.... I genuinely hope, that this woman gets the justice she deserves for humiliation, stress, financial loss and the list goes on. The Leo's and JB are way wrong in this one.
So many questions. Who reported the trailer stolen? Did the VIN and the plate number match on the registration during the pre-trip inspection? Any carrier with hundreds of trailers has issues keeping track of them, possibly more if they’re leasing trailers. You have to protect your CDL from their mismanagement. It’s easy to get rushed in this industry, but it only takes one incident to severely impact your driving record and earning potential.
Good Morning, This could happen to any one of us at any given time, totally unnecessary. In my 28 years I’ve never anything like this, they could have called her employer (JB) and saved lots of time & money. Trucking is such bs anyone, never thought I’d say that. Just think these folks out here driving now think $80k per year is good money, huh? We made that 20 years ago. We need to wake up, is this (trucking) really worth any of the continued bs we deal with daily?
Few years ago I got pulled over in Arkansas because my company reported loaded trailer I’m attached to is being stolen. It was terrifying moment but I have learned lesson to never move equipment without written permission from registered owner/company.
"How did you get a Bowman trailer? " That's a really stupid question. It happens all the time regardless of whether you are a company driver or an owner operator. Trucking companies swap trailers all the time. I have pulled trailers from hundreds of different companies. She got dispatched, she got the BOL with that trailer number, she did nothing wrong. Let me tell you something else a lot of trailers sitting in drop and hook yards have registrations expired. You need to check that. She did nothing wrong.
Makes sense. When going with plan B tractor, timing to get a kingpin removed could be a problem. This arrest still sounds super fishy.@tripplefives1402
It's a revenue grab. The bonds, securities, and administrative hearings that are generated thru this technicality all equal revenue for the state of. Not to mention whatever is generated thru attaching her license number, SSN, etc. This is no longer a Constitutional Republic. It's military occupation, and these are policy enforcers. If you don't know, you better research it.
They could've taken the license off of the trailer. And verified it was a customer's dedicated account trailer. And then taken that trailer to the terminal. And handled with JB Hunt management. That was BS. I've seen drivers drive through a scale without a license plate. I hope she got the righteous justice from all of this. SMH. Sighhhhh.
You mean to tell me. They couldn’t have found a better way I’m sure Jb and bowman got a huge leasing agreement either jb would clear my name or they getting sued probably would sue them anyway
That cop is a loser. I’m sure they could have handled this differently instead of putting charges on her, and putting her through that. Once she showed she was dispatched to pick that trailer up, she should have been in the clear, impound the trailer and deal with the company 🙄
Cop did exactly what he was supposed to. Cops don't put charges on anyone. They arrest so a person sees a judge and then a prosecutor decides whether or not to file charges after reviewing the evidence. I swear, some of the people here would blame their big toe for hurting after they dropped a brick on it.
It looks like an easy case, company should have shown paper work about trailer, now if this multiple errors meaning possible someone did it so accidentally
They want to destroy the middle class, and us truck drivers are a majority of the middle class. Get rid of these federal agencies, fmcsa to the epa, to the fbi.
Checking the reg, the fed inspection, and making sure the license plate matches the registration is part of a pretrip. So is naking sure the VIN plate is intact as well.
That is messed up. The leasing company provided the trailer and her employer ordered her to pick it up… must every driver call in the license plate and VIN of every trailer they pick up on employer/customer request? JB Hunt needs to step up and provide this woman representation, compensation, and full assistance in resolving the issue in court for her, and making her whole for all losses.
Actually, doing that for any load in and out of Perth Amboy is the only safe way to do business in that town. they are not respecting the BOL and blaming the driver. So, as a driver you need to check. If even a small percentage of drivers working that area started doing that the customers would start complaining about the delay, and the PD will be swamped. They will change their policy within weeks.
This has happened to me! 09SEP23 in Garden City GA. The tanker I was pulling, which was leased was reported stolen 01SEP23 from Kansas City KS. I went through the same process only difference is they conducted a felony stop on me. I was booked and had to be bonded out. I have no criminal history not even a speeding ticket on my record. It took 6 months and a ton of record for the prosecutor to dismiss the case. Leasing companies use law enforcement as their repo agencies instead of going through the civil process. My heart goes out to her, I know the trauma this has caused.

If the cops are telling you to sue the company you know they fucked up big time
They definitely hooking her up when they arrested her. Makes for more money in the settlement for emotional duress etc., bond, etc. they lowkey hooked her up and let her know it wasn’t her fault. Bad part is even if she doesn’t sue they’ll find a way to terminate her as retaliation
Or say she was complacent🙄
Facts
This makes me angry.😡😡😡 This is ridiculous. She was totally in compliance with the officer’s, so why are they putting handcuffs on her and why not wait until JB Hunt got this straightened this out? JB Hunt needs to step up and get this taken care of now.
GOOD LUCK on that, do your job and get arrested!!! JB HUNT SUCKS!!! they dummies at JB HUNT!!!
This is all JB's fault because no driver picks up a trailer unless the company tells him to none that I know of anyway
processing is BIG MONEY to them, that is why
Yeah, too bad the officers didn't hang out with her until it got straightened out. I mean, it has only been 7+ months and there looked to be a gas station right across the street that could be used for some snacks and bathroom while they waited.
@@RealzFoShojb hunt,, you pillows too

@@RealzFoSho- the information he had, told him this was a company driver, who is NOT responsible for verifying her company or their customer is not providing her “stolen equipment”
If she had just picked up that trailer from someone selling it that would be one thing, but as soon as the VIN came back as not being the stolen trailer, then they had no case, other than her being in possession of a stolen license plate, that she did not put on that trialer, and could not be expected to verify against the VIN, in ANY sort of normal business practices.
The nerve of JB Hunt to do this to an employee and not have her back.
Hunt is trying to get her to come back, she said so. Hunt will sneak in paper to sign so she can't sue them. Hold her ground and get good counsel. JB Hunt is
manipulative!
JB Hunt didn't do anything. The plates were wrong and if that's the case the leasing company screwed up or just didn't know and the cops should actually be sued because arresting her was extreme when they clearly knew she wasn't guilty of a crime.
Then where is the company support for the driver. @nammoses7800
@@darrylpierce3345 they've reached out to her. She's said it herself. What kind of support do you want them to give?
All the above should be sued. She said she had her BOL but didn't say she verified the info on it. I assume she verified. As an Ex-JB Hunt driver, the BOL shows the trailer number and the seal. You must verify those first before attaching anything to your truck. If those are correct and the trailer was indeed reported stolen, then management failed and a lawsuit should be filed
100%
Well trailer number yeah but I don't know about seal. If the trailer is in the door or backed butt up to another trailer you gotta hook up to it to pull it out
If it’s Home Depot the guard has to check it as well . Sounds like a misunderstanding between the leasing company and the carrier .
@@Peterblack12drivers dont hook to trailers at doors in home depot DC
The point of misunderstanding is about the license plate. The trailer is verified by the BOL however as we have heard Alex speak about the ineffectiveness on both sides. However in case of the licensing plate the original trailer that plate belongs to could possibly be stolen 🤷♂️

That’s some dirty shit, JB hunt couldn’t do anything?????? And the cops had to cuff her😒 this is crazy….
YEAH, They need to arrest dem top JB HUNT dummies!!!

When trucking corporations get too big, they tend to make more mistakes like these. That’s why I’m worried about the future of the Knight/Swift merger
I drove for JB Hunt and felt very uncomfortable the whole time since day one, and yes, it is customary at jb hunt
Mutha Trucker I actually cried while they arrrested her and 7-8 months later she still in dem courts! This young lady can legally win if she sues and press charges for harassing you wit dem foolish calls
Most companies pull other trailers ive had to lower my standards and pull a jb trailer at times but these cops shod of checked reg. And serial stamped number on trailer i know we had at times wrong plates on our trailers they get messed up sometimes
I drive for JB as a owner operator JB has a big contract to pull Home Depot’s freight and from my experience that i ran across is that when a load is loaded on any trailer that isn’t from the division that a driver is in or a different trailer that it’s NOT a JB trailer the driver CANNOT pull it unless the driver calls JB to get it authorize to pull that trailer or the driver cannot pull it
The BOL is authorization to move that load on that trailer. Trailer leases are common for all trucking companies...
Just because bol says that trailer doesn't mean it was loaded on wrong trailer. Best to call and confirm
Yep if it doesn't say jb. I'd been on phone. Seen more than once whete load was put on wrong trailer
The police acted stupid here. No reason to arrest a worker for a company mistake.

The absurdity of the justice system.
Lawsuit ???
I could see them having it unhooked and towed away but why do that to her 😢😢😢
The problem is they'll investigate themselves and find they're not incompetent.
There was no need to arrest her. Cowards !!!
Stop blaming the people doing exactly what they are supposed to do. This is on the prosecutor and the court.

She doin her job it’s a license plate issue it’s not her job to know that it’s the company
This should not have happened. Everything should be on J B Hunt.
Thank you driver for the update at the end... Even though nothing has been resolved... I hope you get more updates.. Is to the final outcome.

😄 cop says " The company is responsible for this " BUT
you are going to jail
"How did you get a Bowman trailer? " That's a really stupid question. It happens all the time regardless of whether you are a company driver or an owner operator. Trucking companies swap trailers all the time. I have pulled trailers from hundreds of different companies. She got dispatched, she got the BOL with that trailer number, she did nothing wrong.
Let me tell you something else a lot of trailers sitting in drop and hook yards have registrations expired. You need to check that.
She did nothing wrong.
Yea it’s absolute nonsense and clueless cops have no idea about it
Yeah when I could first get permanent tags for trailers it made life so much easier. I thought everybody bought permanent tags now
If Bowman was worried about that trailer, why not use a kingpin before she had a chance to hook up??

Get a lawyer and file a BIG lawsuit against JB Hunt.
They could've taken the license off of the trailer. And verified it was a customer's dedicated account trailer. And then taken that trailer to the terminal. And handled with JB Hunt management. That was BS. I've seen drivers drive through a scale without a license plate. I hope she got the righteous justice from all of this. SMH. Sighhhhh.

How ‘bout we create a REAL trucker shortage?

Why isn't the company where she picked up the trailer from being charged? It seems, that she was setup.
Those cops didn't have to do that..they really didn't have to do that...😮😮😮😮
I would have been calling my attorney warp speed. She didn't do anything and this is BS police work. 😡
Checking the reg, the fed inspection, and making sure the license plate matches the registration is part of a pretrip. So is naking sure the VIN plate is intact as well.
Sounds like plates were switched. Correct trailer with plate of stolen trailer. While stolen trailer is being pulled with a good plate
When I was driving for JB Hunt as a company driver back in 2008, I got pulled over and a warning for having the wrong plate on my tractor.
Oh I cant see no justice here at all! Why is this taking even more than one day in court??? WTH! JB HUNT OWES HER!!!
Now you need to be a lawyer and then a truck driver
This has happened to me! 09SEP23 in Garden City GA. The tanker I was pulling, which was leased was reported stolen 01SEP23 from Kansas City KS. I went through the same process only difference is they conducted a felony stop on me. I was booked and had to be bonded out. I have no criminal history not even a speeding ticket on my record. It took 6 months and a ton of record for the prosecutor to dismiss the case. Leasing companies use law enforcement as their repo agencies instead of going through the civil process. My heart goes out to her, I know the trauma this has caused.
Understand something the driver is responsible for checking the tags called the registration, plates. It's all part of your pre trip .
