Oh my god! My 09 hatch has been crap for 5 years and the last 3 I literally couldn’t open it anymore. I watched a few videos several years ago and once they got to removing external plastic and wiper arm I quit thinkin about it. This seriously works! I didn’t it 15 minutes and didn’t break anything but my knuckle loosening the first bolt. Smooth sailing now! Only 10$ in 2024! Thank you!!!
UPDATE- I just replaced my handle on a 2010 Fit, you don't have to bend the linkage. Don't remove the wiper arm either, just pry up the black cover from the drivers side that will release 2 clips (if they break replace them) and you will be able to get the handle in and out without any problem. I put never-sieze all over that pin, spring and plastic hopefully it will extend the life keeping rusting to a minimum. That pin should have been made from stainless steel.
You get full credit for videoing in the rain! The pin on that handle should have been stainless steel, that should have been an engineering upgrade on that part. Thanks for your time and posting this video. What is the part number?
Any idea why my front wipers stay on after turning them off? Whether it's flipping up once for a quick wipe, or flipping down to a set speed, once I set it to off the wiper will continue to operate until it randomly decides to stop. I'm guessing it has to do with a faulty wire connection with a switch somewhere, or maybe the switch contacts are going bad... I also have no clue what I'm doing😀 (2013 Honda Fit Sport). Also much thanks for this guide!!! It's exactly what I needed.
Generally if you have wipers that won’t stop it is the “park switch” inside the motor that is bad. For someone without experience replacing the motor is probably the way to go and there are videos showing how. As a tinkerer and a cheapskate I would remove the motor and its cover and see if I could clean up the contacts. I repaired my rear wiper motor and it would be a similar process.
