Such a great straight to the point and thorough tutorial, will do this when I get back to riding the streets on my -20 500 Exc supermoto! 👍
Thanks man. Hoping to hit 10k this year on mine going to the drag strip this weekend. Gonna be fun
So glad I found this, I was about to buy a generic switch and repin or rewire the connector, 2013 450 xcf
That right there is why I like making these videos.
Be been dreading removing my gas tank. It looks pretty simple. Thank you for this. I’m a new dirt bike owner.
Not a problem at all man. If you got any more questions just let me know.
I see that it's been 6 months since this comment, so you may know this already. Tip for you guys. You only have to remove the 4 screws mounted on the radiator, the one in the middle of the tank, cable and fuelconnector to remove the tank. Fairing comes with it🙂
Great video btw😊
Great video. Converting my 2020 FE501 to be street legal and this helped. Thanks!
No problem if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask
Thankfully my 2021 husky tpi was simple. No removing tank.
Thanks for that great tip!
Not a problem man.
What is plugged into it prior to connecting a key switch?
It's just a harness that plugs into its self. It's on the right side behind the headlight. You pull the plugs apart and install the key switch in series.
Dont forget to replace your tank filter after alittle while stalk ones are plastic get a hold of ktm and huskey dot com best duel sports they got the filter that' mint for ktm
Will do that for sure. I've heard some people have had problems with the stock fuel pump as well I think best dual sports had an aftermarket pump I was going to get. Also I got a chance to put about 20 mi on those d606 tires on the street definitely like them so far can't wait to hit the dirt.
I have a 2022 ktm xc 250 tpi and I’m making it street legal and I just bought the tusk racing enduro lighting kit and I’m wondering if I can install a key. Would any key work if i splice the wires ?

Awesome planning on doing any mods.
Performance
@@motomatt8915 maybe a high compression head and a Harley torque pipe and fmf silencer
would this key switch work on a 21 yamaha yz450f
Sorry it took so long To get back to you this key key switch will not work the connectors are KTM connectors. Try and look up some aftermarket Companies they should have something.
I cant seem to find where the kill switch bullet connecter is and i would really appreciate your help
It should be on the left side under the gas tank. There is also a small ground wire attached to the neck of the frame.
@@motomatt8915 I found it :| it was behind the headlight 😂
I should have said there is a 4 pin connector to the right side of the triple trees behind the light and thats where you will plug the switch into. But the bullet connector for the kill switch on mine is on the left side of the bike under the tank. There is a connector and a grounded connection.
Hi man do you know if this would work on a ktm 125 exc 2014?
Check this one out at slavens racing. .SA26-206
Do you know if this would work on a 2017 ttr230?
It wouldn't be plug and play but you could wire it in if you really wanted a switch.
@@motomatt8915 I just don’t want my bike stolen
That's why I did it . I have 6100 miles on mine now and go everywhere. It made me nervous as well. You could even just wire a switch in it doesn't have to be a key. I just went with the key because it was plug and play. If you do a switch just put it somewhere out of sight.
Ktm 300 xcw?
Sorry I missed your comment
Alot of talking to pretty much say nothing
