My goodness...........that bridge is L-O-N-G!!!!!! 👀 Washington sure looks like they keep their highways litter free. It is SOOOOOO pretty there. Give my Scoobers a milk bone from me. Thank you for another awesome video Russ.
I'm getting ready to make this trip myself along US 101 from Washington state and down to California. Then across Arizona to New Mexico,Utah,Wyoming,Montana,Idaho and back into Washington.I lived in some of the areas that you just went through.Aberdeen,Forks and Bellingham. Its a beautiful drive for sure.Love your videos.
I got a laugh when you realized the height of that bridge, it catches people off guard when traveling from the north. It's a bit of a white knuckler for sure. I've yet to cross it pulling the 5th wheel and not sure I ever want to. You're in western Oregon now, my neck of the woods.
That's too funny Russ, I wondered what your thoughts would be on height of Astoria bridge, did you stop and check your shorts on the other side? Enjoying your travels, great videos, you and scub's travel safe, you will really enjoy Oregon coast.
Hey, it ain't Washington if it doesn't rain! It was still pretty. Come southeast and take the bridge across Lake Pontchartrain outside of New Orleans! 24 miles long and was the longest bridge in the world. Not sure if it still is with Dubai taking over all the tallest, biggest, widest, etc. LOL But it's 24 miles long. It's a nightmare if there is a wreck on it. No place to get off, you just sit & wait it out!
Wow! That bridge is looooong, according to Wiki...Located 14 miles from the mouth of the river, the bridge is 4.1 miles long and was the last completed segment of U.S. Route 101 between Olympia, Washington, and Los Angeles, California. It is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.
Even the bad weather in your journey is still worth filming, it adds authenticity. Not everyday is full of sunshine.
I loved crossing that bridge going northbound in 1994. I still remember that to this day. It's was breathtaking.
OMG!!! What a bridge!! It just goes on forever. Thanks for the video, Russ.
thanks it was a big bridge
Was so fascinated with the enormous size of the Columbia River and that LOOOOOOOONG bridge.
You went the long way, but the views are worth it. The trip around the bay is just beautiful.
I bicycled across that bridge on my Seattle to San Francisco bike tour 16 years ago. Crossing that bridge on was one scary ride.
What great scenery, even with the rain! The bridges are so cool and scary! I'm having fun following you on my road map!
Russ , The bridge was great - continuous rain in Washington brought back a lot of memories ( and some great afternoon naps ) . Be Safe

This bridge was built in 1965-66. My father was an ironworker who drove rivets on it.
It was the wettest year of my life.

+RVerTV it looked like NO turning back once you start across
“Longest continuous truss” refers to the length of the main span between the towers, which is 1232 feet.
