Thank you. We live in MD, and our pump just went out. I was watching this video and had my husband watch as well. We gave you guys a call they match our pump, talked to us about options differences in the pumps and other things. We got educated. Best part even with shipping from Idaho they still beat any price in our area. Great customer service and knowledgeable sales rep. THANK YOU
In the meantime, how are you going to the bathroom since considering all the gray water runs through your system did you move out of your house till the pump arrives?
I am new to sewage sump pumps but now have one in a house with a bathroom below the main sewer line. I recently learned that not all of these pump systems have a high-water alarm to indicate a problem. Perhaps another tip would be to be sure that your existing sewage sump pump or a replacement pump has one of these alarms.
Great video! Very informational. My float was malfunctioning on my 2017 2 HP Zoeler grinder pump. After pulling it, I found a crack in the float. Can you give me an estimate of what a new float and a new switch would cost to have installed on this unit?
I’m watching MANY of your videos and will be calling you. Suggestion: for Myers or Zoeller pumps you seem to carry, can you rate light to heavy duty? Mine (septic-2 tanks w effluent filter, pump 100’ to leach filed, 10’ lift) fails every 2-3 years. I HATE fixing it. I’ll PAY if it will run for 10 years. What do I buy? What makes these fail? Should I be upgrading to external/redundant floats? So frustrated brother! And DON’T bother calling local-they love me LOOONG time every time it fails! 😅
Great video - I currently have a Hydromatic SPD50AH1 20 pump and having a issue that keeps tripping the breaker. I bypassed the float switch, pump starts to pump the water to the septic and after 10 seconds it trips the breaker. I removed the pump and i found some what looked like hair on the bottom and removed it. Same issue. I also checked the septic tank and it was pretty much full so i had it pumped thinking that was the issue but still same issue. The pump build is 07/07 - could it also be a plugged pipe going to the septic? Is there anything else i should check before i buy a new pump? Can the pumps be repaired or just buy a new pump
If our alarm had gone off and followed the steps to plug the pump directly, then the alarm stops. So we assume it's cleared and doesn't require further repair? Thanks for your tips.
Very good video.....appreciate the tips. My waste water pump is about 10 years old. I usually clean out the tank every 6 months. It is starting to pump slower with longer pump cycles. Is it common for the impeller to get clogged up with debris?
Is the Grinder Pumps the same thing as sewage pump? I bought a what they called "Sewage Check Valve" for using with my basement pump (looks like the green pump in the video) but it printed on the check valve "Not for use with grinder pumps". So, I'm confused. Would someone please explain? Thank you!
Grinder pumps utilize a cutter on the bottom to macerate solids before they are pumped. Sewage pumps simply pass the solid whole through them. Sewage pumps usually have a 2" discharge whereas grinders have a 1.25" discharge since they are just passing slurry through them.
On a residential system, typically not. Routine cleanings are generally only needed if your pump is prone to clogging or if you have an effluent filter.
Thank you for the great and informational videos you make ! I live in israel and have an italian stainless steel 1HP sewage pump which seems to be too strong for my 40mm 6 meters drain output. I've installed a 40mm Y splitter and considred leaving 20mm opening for some of the water to go back to the septic tank, So it won't make damages to the 70+ years old house plumbing because of the excess pressure of this strong pump on the plumbing. How would I know how much of the pressure to relieve in the Y splitter ? I've considered installing a ball valve in the output of the Y splitter to control the outflow of water back to the tank. What do you think ? Thank you
I have a septic system with a third tank where the effluent goes into. From there it gets pumped uphill to a drain field. I was told to remove the check valve so that effluent drains back into the pump chamber preventing the pipe to the drain field from freezing in our cold Canadian winters. Any thoughts on this.
Thanks for the video! My pump is located outside, and with freezing temps in my area, that seems like it could be an issue. How do you insulate sump pumps?
Great video. I’m looking at buying a house down a hill approximately 30 feet below the city sewer line and 450 feet off the road. This house has a outside sewage sump basin and pump as you described. Is the 30 elevation rise and 450 run to the road a reason to be concerned with this type of system? Thanks for any info.
Hey Chris I have an MQ ST-2005A and the motor gave out and I want to fix it, what should I do, buy a new motor $380 plus shipping or have it repaired, Thanks love the Vids
OSE USA if it's the motor, and your sure it's not the switch, you need to replace it. There is no way to repair the motor as it is most likely corroded beyond repair. Hope this helps.
Good information...Question: Are there any special considerations in choosing a pump or system for a residential RV dump (used occasionally)? The entire volume of the Black tank effluent will rush in to the pit at once up to the max volume of the RV tank...maybe 40 Gallons. Can the inlet be right through the lid of the pit, or is there any reason to pipe it in to the pit side from some reasonable distance away? IOW, locate the pit somewhat removed from the dump hookup? Freezing is not too significant here in the South East U.S.,but any advice on that? The outlet will go roughly 75 feet away, but only a foot or two elevated. Tnx
Have you or do you know if one of your customers has installed an effluent pump inside a pump screen? I am looking to filter out as much of the solid material as I can and I am looking at a pump screen and a pressure filter. If you would prefer I can call in and tell you the exact make/model of pump I will be using and the manufacturer of the pump screen and pressure filter. Thanks!
Hey great video so I have a septic system and my pump went so I need a effluent pump of sewage pump for the grey water discharge from the tank to the leach field
Our builder installed a Liberty 281-2 pump for our sewage. Since we are very very concerned about this being actually a sump pump rather than a sewage pump I would really like to know what your thoughts are. We have had sceptic tanks always and never had a pump. Our concern is this thing is never going to last more than a few months if that long since it seems to be a sump pump rather than a sewage pump. We would really like to have your input. Why he installed the system ss he did is a puzzle since we actually had plenty of space for the lines behind the home rather than him running them up a hill 15 foot or more.
Please help,, I have 2 drummond 1/2 horsepower submerg pumps,,, both have broken impellers,, unable to find replacements,, model 63323... can you help me find replacement impellers... thx... I bought from harbor freight,, they gave me refund but need impellers,, pumps seem to work fine...
My basement pump failed after 10 years of usage in Pakistan. I fitted a Chinese pump and it broke down after 6 months now I am looking for answers as locally bullet proof pumps are no-longer on the market.
HP and pressure a pump can produce are not directly related because the pressure/flow capacities differ depending on the model, impeller type, volute clearances, RPM, etc.. Give us a call if you need help sizing a pump: 855.329.4519
I replaced the float switch and drilled a 3/16 vent hole in the pipe just above the waste water pump and below the check valve to prevent air lock. The pump is approx. 11 years old, 1/2 HP> It pumps very slow while the water is spraying from the vent hole inside the tank. The plumbing from the tank runs across the whole length of the west wall of the basement and the south wall exiting the basement in the corner of the south and east wall. About 35 -40 ft. of 2 " pvc pipe. Does this sound like the plumbing could be plugged up or the pump is wearing out? .
The weight of the water is usually the only thing "holding" pressure. In sewage systems it is an open loop so no pressure builds up anywhere but the lowest points.
@@andrewengland971 Oh, gotcha. The idea with the pressure gauge is to close a ball valve in the discharge pipe and run the pump. With the loop closed the pressure on the gauge should rise to the max pump pressure, so if it doesn't you know you've got an issue with the pump.
No need for ball bearings top or bottom in the typical USA made effluent pumps. They are oil filled and the top bearing is just a bushing or a bore in the cast iron. The bottom bearing would be a kingsbury type bearing running in oil and far superior to any ball bearing. they are essentially zero friction and outlast the motors.
When the drain field is located uphill from the tank do you want a large high-capacity lift pump? Do you really want to quickly pump hundreds of gallons to the drain field? Drain fields are going to degrade over time and accept water more slowly.
Correct! Install it outside if possible. If you have a problem you will be glad its out of your living space. 25 years ago this was common practice with few exceptions. The new way of doing many things are often profit driven and do with no concern for the big picture. Put the pump outside!
Worst self promoting vedio. Not a single word about pumps with integral float switches and NO piggyback plug. Or how to repair the problem of the float switch constantly failing due to calcium build up. Thus putting weight on it so it does not rise up and turn on the pump.
Thank you. We live in MD, and our pump just went out. I was watching this video and had my husband watch as well. Thanks for the stellar comment Ashley!
In the meantime, how are you going to the bathroom since considering all the gray water runs through your system did you move out of your house till the pump arrives?
I wish a lot more company vids were like this. A little advertising for you and a lot of valuable info for me. Thank you RC Worst.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching! :)
Excellent and clear video! The sort of thing that good USA businesses do so well!
Very good video. Concise and honest. Good job!
I appreciate that!

It is possible to retro-fit a high water alarm without disturbing the existing set-up.
Great information seriously, thank you very much! I was able to fix my pump just by watching this video!

Is there a measurable comparison in longevity between an upper ball bearing pump and one with a bushing ?? Thanks

You may need a new pump switch.

On a residential system, typically not. Routine cleanings are generally only needed if your pump is prone to clogging or if you have an effluent filter.
Yes Excellent
I realize Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Daxton Maison flixportal =)
@Cooper Frederick Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it !

Great video! Thank you
What type of pump are you showing in front of you? I’m trying to replace a new pump.
Thanks for an informative video!
You bet Terry! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the video! My pump is located outside, and with freezing temps in my area, that seems like it could be an issue. How do you insulate sump pumps?
The pipe needs to be buried below the frost line and the pump installed below it as well. Insulation is usually only done on the lid with some foam.

What is average warranty on pumps with different manufacturers?
With sewage pumps it can range from 1-3 years, with the most common being a 1 year warranty.

What's the average life-expectancy of a Myers SRM4 sewage pump?
My basement pump failed after 10 years of usage in Pakistan. I fitted a Chinese pump and it broke down after 6 months now I am looking for answers as locally bullet proof pumps are no-longer on the market.
Re tip 7. Another way to state it is: Deposit nothing in your toilet that hasn’t been eaten first!
What about toilet paper?
Thanks
Can I use a Zoeller m267 pump, for a bathtub, 2 sinks, washer, and floor drain?
What pump did you end up going with?
My lift pump is just running all the time I unplugged it to turn it off did not want to burn out the pump any suggestions on why it is running
Reply
Could be you float switch is hung up.
Question: System has a 2" pvc vent and 2" discharge sine those are actually 2.375 I need a 3x3 cover right?
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
do you offer a amp meter for the control box?
We do not sell meters, but you can find them relatively cheap (less than $20) at your local box stores. Look for the clamp-on amp meters
What is the formula for H.P.=feet height ? [how much hp is needed to lift 5' high?]

Do you sell refurbished septic pumps?
Our bargain cave is mostly older stock (6 months+), but we may have one or two that we fixed shipping damage on in there: www.rcworst.com/clearance
How does a sewer line hold pressure when it’s vented?
The weight of the water is usually the only thing "holding" pressure. In sewage systems it is an open loop so no pressure builds up anywhere but the lowest points.
I’m just trying to understand the pressure gauge. Doesn’t make any sense to me. Pressure would build if you had a belly or more but idk
@@andrewengland971 Oh, gotcha. The idea with the pressure gauge is to close a ball valve in the discharge pipe and run the pump. With the loop closed the pressure on the gauge should rise to the max pump pressure, so if it doesn't you know you've got an issue with the pump.
R.C. Worst & Co., Inc. right makes a lot of sense now lmao

can you hook a toilet directly sewage pump
No, you need a tank of some sort.

Needs to be powerful enough to lift to the rated height. The pumps have a lift ratings, will burn out the pump early if exceeding it
You kind of sound like Pete Davidson
Someone is selling a water/sewer pump station, should I buy it? I'm just looking for an investment. I don't really know anything about a pump station.
my plumber said he gonna install this outside the house not at the basement because its going to stink is that right?
All sewage pump installations should be airtight and vented. If there is a smell it means it was not installed properly.
