- 8-minute video that will show you how to make simple braided hemp "wish" bracelets. The story goes that you make a wish when tying them on your wrist, and when the cords wear through, your wish is realeased and will come true! You just need hemp, seed beads, and simple braiding and knotting techniques for this project.

I know it's been several years...I would like to thank you. I just wanted you to know this is still helping people.
I loved these bracelets as a child..I never made them tho, usually my grandparents would bring them home from trips as a surprise for the girl grandchildren... each getting a different color. (the boys would get something else like a water gun) I remember being so excited when they would fall off. I was telling my daughter about them and now she wants one... BUT I figured they were simple to make so I'm fixing to make a special trip to the craft store just to get the stuff to do this (she is getting braces tomorrow and in trying to think of things to make her happy since she will probably be miserable for a few days)... thanks soooooo much for this video!

Instead of using Craft Glue for unraveling ends, you can also use clear/light colored nail polish if you have any on hand :)

It is a good one of a kind product for using these effective spells to get what you want minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my coo-worker at last got excellent success with it.

No matter what I do ... glue the ends, make tight with hairspray ... I cannot get the hemp twine through the size six seed beads. I bought the beads at Michaels too, so not dollar store. Any more ideas or tips would be helpful!

Saludos, ya hice la pulsera con el mismo hilo. Quedó muy bonita. Pero luego de varios días usándola el hilo que rodea las cuentita se movía y la cuentita quedaba fuera d lugar. Yo apreté fuerte el hilo alrededor de la cuenta . qué hice incorrecto??

You should make the measurements on your paper (like make/draw a ruler on the paper) that’s way it will be easier
Can we use any kind of small bead? or does it have to be seed beads?
Could use more light on the subject. And if you braid a light cord use a darker background with lots of light.

I would tie a know where the braid stops so the beads dont get loose. Not unless you want them loose.

Zinnie Tsang I imagine any beads or cord will work, as it would still follow the same principles. A few other comments have also said they tried leather or yarn and they worked :)

Melanie Ornelas nope, anything small is just fine! Seed beads are common because they're inexpensive and a good size.

I just bought some hemp cords and alphabet beads and thought all the kids and ladies on Mothers day attempt to.make some name bracelets......can this project be made with alphabet beads? Do I also need seed beads? I think I was being naive to think we could do this......
