@@PowerToSing I'm just beginning to start practicing with the exaggerated "nay", hopefully I'll improve :)
I have found that in my insecurity and efforts to keep anyone from hearing me sing, I've developed a terrible habit of flipping to falsetto on high notes so I could hit them quietly. Now that I'm actually trying to learn to sing properly, I can't seem to break it because I've ALWAYS done it! This was extremely helpful though, I really appreciate this one!
Old habits are hard to break. But knowing how to do it right, you will succeed!
I have right now the same exact problem...and i'm so insecure that even in front of my vocal coach i always use falsetto. Can you give me some tips?
I've done the same for years.. I'm 21 now and want to learn the correct way to sing..
So have you broken then habit ?
Same
I've been using falseto for years. Thanks for showing me this technique & excercises. These are great! Regards Greg 😀
Great to hear!
ITS WORKING thank you so much. After this video i improved a lot, although my high voice is still not as high as i would like it to be, i'm working on it!! I can sing higher now without falsetto!!! Thank youu

Power To Sing I’ve been subscribed for awhile. Your videos and exercises really do help me sing. A lot of times I try to mimic certain artists’ singing styles & range. It ends up with me sounding stupid. This video helped me realize one of the problems

How did this help you, Sydney?
@@PowerToSing My high notes are free flowing now and I know how to work it easily. I am doing Facebook live sessions for several hours and asking audience to provide songs on the fly and I am confidently singing any song - without worrying about the high notes etc. Your exercises and course is a game changer for me ! Thank you

Wow its such a nice video! I actually need a help. My range is not even the normal range of females. What do i do? I do falsetto as soon as i reach the high note. I like singing rock songs but I jus't cant because of it. And one more question, in this video, should i go in falsetto? Because i cant reach any of the notes. Hope you reply. I need help. Thank you!
Your larynx is going up and this is what causes you to go into falsetto. There is a way to sing high notes without falsetto. Start here: www.powertosing.com/pulled-chest-high-larynx-2/ After watching these, you may want to look into this: www.powertosing.com/fast-track-exercises-vsl/
Thank you so much!@@PowerToSing
I have been working on mixed voice for a long time but I can't find the right exercises.I tried lip trill, sirens etc, but it doesn't work. Can i tell or give me advice to develop mix voice in about 1 month or more.
You can mix in 5 minutes with the right exercises and with the larynx down and your vocal cords adducting appropriately. Start here: www.powertosing.com/discover-your-vocal-type-wt then go to here: www.powertosing.com/fast-track-exercises-vsl/
We have to do only 1 of these exercises or all? And how many times we have to do particular exercise?
Do them all once or twice a day....correctly. Good luck!
Thank you sir👍
When ever I do the nae exercise, my throat gets tighter as I go up....what should I do?
Do it softer and do it "funnier"...really exaggerated. Also say ney and almost like you were saying "Knee". See what happens.
Can i make lip trill even ho i wont do any other cool down or warm up exercise before and after lip trill?
By themselves, Lip trills and tongue trills are always good for warm ups as well as warm downs.
@@PowerToSing thank you so much for answering!
I strain when I get to the high notes in some songs.. Gloria - Laura Branigan, she starts low (yes I do it in a lower key than her) but the chorus goes very high. I have been singing for years in a cover band and only have one vocal cord. Wondering if there is a different exercise to do for one vocal cord to try and hit that high note, or it doesn't matter?? I have done your test, vocal singing type.
Tell me more about your one vocal cord? How do you make vibrations without a second cord? In fact, how do you speak with only one cord?
@@PowerToSing During a Thyroid operation (when I was 10 years old) they accidentally cut one vocal cord. The result should be a raspy, breathless, quiet voice and sometimes problems swallowing which I did at first. When I had to have another operation for her Thyroid (when she was an adult), I took the risk of the other one being cut and having no voice! Anyway.. The doctors were surprised I could sing at all!
They think maybe since I kept singing from when I was a teenager (squawking in my bedroom every night) it made it possible by making the one vocal cord very strong to compensate for the one that was not working? They can't understand it really. I saw the xray.. and they pointed it out. Very unusual. I'm very happy with my voice, (gets nice and deep) but those high notes!! I cut them off.
I think one vocal cord is just sitting there, not moving and the other one is doing all the work?
@@samanthaeastwood-williams1922 Hi Samantha....thanks for sharing your experience. You may find it helpful to go see an ENT Dr. now and get your vocal cords scoped. It is painless and takes very little time, but they can watch your vocal cords while you speak and or sing and get a better idea how much paralysis there is in the second cord. The fact that you can vocalize makes me think that you could learn to keep the larynx down which enables a singer to sing high notes without straining, cracking or breaking. Overall my recommendation is to get the exercises for your vocal type and start working on those. You are likely to make great progress.
@@PowerToSing thank you for the advice. Feeling very hopeful. 😁
Where is the position of the larynx when we singing “ney” sound?
Normal ney is at speechlevel. Exaggerated, witchy or bratty ney the larynx is slightly elevated.
Thanks Power To Sing. Could you make a video to show the good positon for each type of voice(chest, mix, head, falsetto,....)
@@lebaluong4515 There is an easy answer. The level of the larynx should be the same as where it is when you speak...if you speak normally. No matter whether you are in chest, mix, head voice.)
Power To Sing Thanks you!
My larynx always higher than normal even i using “ney” sound and bubble lip. Maybe i practiced with wrong way.
What is head voice? English lesson chest voice and head voice, there are not any called that way in Japan. I wonder what those are in Japanese.
www.powertosing.com/what-is-mixed-voice-vs-head-voice/ and ruclips.net/video/_4RfCPiTWIg/видео.html
ok so somewhat of a serious but sillyish question too. How do I stop laughing at myself when dopey gee-ing? Honestly I feel so silly that I start laughing as I go higher, especially because I feel like it's kind of working
Think what a difference this will make with your future singing! At least you can feel very happy...even if you are not laughing!
I feel it drop, yeah 😅
Great, Tiaan. Were you able to keep it down as you did the exercise? Did it help?
@@PowerToSing Yes it did. I learned that you need to keep your larynx down in one of your previous videos and it has helped more than anything else with singing higher notes. Thx :)
@@tiaansteyn3594 Great!
I use to sing before very high notes. But now i cannot sing high a little bit anymore. And I need Help and I am Sophrano voice.

Do I have to lower my larynx when I sing “ney”???
No. In fact let the larynx rise with the exaggerated Ney. But discontinue the exaggerated high larynx as soon as you connect from chest to head or accomplish another goal with the exercise. It's a temporary exercise.
@@PowerToSing I am having hard time to connect it to head voice.. when you are doing head voice.. does your larynx high or low??
@@fendimdr4021 When doing the exaggerated ney, reduce the loudness by at least half. Do it exaggerated, but softer. You can also get into head voice with a doppy gee with the larynx imposed down. It is another way to connect chest to head without a break. Typically, the larynx is at your speech level when you sing in head voice. These exercises may temporarily raise or lower the larynx to help you connect the tone. It's not a forced thing. It's a balance and coordination thing. It's easier if you don't do it too hard. Don't practice louder than medium loud until you accomplish your goal.
@@PowerToSing My voice sounds weird when I sing with stable or lower larynx.. it sounds like very old man.. is it normal??
@@fendimdr4021 Don't focus on the sound. Focus on the condition of the larynx...or the position of the larynx. The sound will not be normal. But as you are able to connect the chest and head voice with an abnormal sound, you gradually, little by little do it more normal until you can connect the tone with a normal voice. Also, don't do it loud. Soft is easier to connect. Then gradually increase the loudness.
yea falsetto sucks. I never realized this until I record my voice singing
