This video has taught me so much about reading patterns. I love it. I have so many books that my grandmother gave me was so many different motifs. I don’t trust myself really reading them and making them accurate at this point though lol
@@ericablanco3001Awesome, that’s what I was hoping! I strongly encourage you to give a couple simple ones from those books a try, maybe with some scrap yarn? They are just visual representations of the stitches & pattern and usually come with a key to which stitch each of the symbols represent - there’s no harm in at least trying, right? And I have a feeling you’ll find it’s much easier than you think!
My biggest issue with this video is "double crochet 2 together". That is the terminology for a double crochet DECREASE and is not the same thing as 2 double crocet in 1 stitch. I will use written instructions instead of a chart every time.
@@rheahinshaw7471 those are the same thing - 2 double crochet stitches joined as 1 stitch. It’s written dc2tog and it is a decrease when used for shaping, here it is used in a decorative manner, but is created in the exact same way. The symbol with 2 dc joined at the top that is used in the chart = dc2tog
