The best thing about the PS3 is it taught Sony a ton about what _not_ to do with a console. Funny though that in the end, the console still worked out for them.
The console didn't really worked out for them, they did make a huge comeback and did sell a good 86 Million units, but Sony overall took billions of dollars of losses on the PS3 just cause of the launch alone
Nawras Khalil Shemus Young has theorized that the PS3 wasn’t made the way it was for games but to to make it harder to port games to the 360 thus giving the PS3 a lot of de facto exclusives. Unfortunately, it hurt Sony big time

@@afistfulofpimples1745 I don't know if the PlayStation 5 will be a failure because of a lot of PlayStation 4 users jumping to the PlayStation 5, I think it will be something like the 7th gen on steroids but this time Sony and Microsoft will be using the same architecture. both have really good advantages, Sony's got exclusives and Microsoft's got studios, Sony can keep on expanding on the franchises we as customers love and Microsoft can create franchises we will love, so it'll be hard to win this gen since Microsoft's doing almost everything the right way, and Sony hasn't spoken that much about the PlayStation 5, we know specs, controller and we had that Unreal Engine 5 demo that was made on PlayStation 5 hardware but since Epic Games is not exclusive to Sony well, that same tech demo could be run on XBOX Series X hardware, so, yeah. I can't tell the future, but Sony is loosing its shine, in terms of choosing a side, well I believe you can already tell by my comment.
After the PS1's success, I'd argue. The PS2 was (and still is with homebrew) notorious for being way too complicated to program for compared to the other three consoles of that generation (and it's not even the strongest, the Xbox is). Sony simply carried this design mentality to the PS3, and it messed the system's launch up then.
they took it how because it was used to hack the ps3 which is known as jailbreaking. but it was to late due the code being released to everyone, once something is on the internet its on the internet forever.
I disagree. The PS3s funky architecture is so wonky, Sony still hasn’t figured out a way to easily port their games to fucking PS5. It’s Sony being unique for the sake of being different.
@@leeartlee915 that's never going to happen unfortunately, unless we go in a time machine and changed how the PS3 worked. PS3 emulation is still very poor on PC mainly because of the architecture, if it wasn't that cell bs we could probably run PS3 games on our phones by now

My favorite Playstation so far. You can feel that it has been made with a lot of pretentiousness (in a good way) and you can feel it from the symphonic orchestra startup, the interface, it's execution to it's extra bass sound.
@Hybrid From Hell At least it didn’t break down constantly or even at all like the POC PlayStation 3. There’s a reason why gamers during that era preferred the Xbox 360.
@thegoodstuff3148 They fully refunded every hardware failure and you got a year of Xbox Live too, What did Sony do when their service was hacked for 3 months in 2011 and 100% of their customer base could not access multi-player? Let's not forget how many people had their credit card information compromised during this time and their shareholder even made an apology in a press meeting bowing down in shame. The ps3 had no games for 7 years and it's impossible to damage control a 16 year old failure by Sony.
@Hybrid From Hell fat model, was horrendous. The slim model was just as bad as the red ring off death. The Xbox 360 elites and pros didn’t have that problem and the system wouldn’t crash offline or online. PlayStation 3 didn’t have its momentum in the later years. But overall during its time Xbox was superior in this gen.
@@potatomatop9326 Can't really say Xbox whooped Sony at anytime, or anything. Sony has always had a better system, and development of games. Sales alone show this. I understand if you liked the 360, but it just wasn't as good. It's a simple fact.
Despite the problems (like price and the yellow light of death), this was the console for which I had the most games. And I still love it’s interface to this day. It truly was the first all-in-one entertainment system, allowing video games, MP4 & MP3 playback, and it was my first Blu-ray player. I don't know if it was the best -- (I'm old, so I have an affinity for the 5th and 6th gens, too) -- but it was pretty magical. I really miss those days of the 7th gen. There didn't seem to be anywhere near the output in games or excitement this gen. I really think the 8th gen kinda sucked. It's like a stagnant continuation of the 7th.

I consider 2006 to 2009 as the PS3's Dark Age, it was starting in 2010 when the PS3 Slim model was just recently released and following the launch of critically acclaimed games like Heavy Rain, God of War III and Grand Turismo 5 , not to mention the successful launch of the PlayStation Move, this was when the future started to look bright for Sony once again.
Yup. I clearly remember being at Gamestop in those early years looking at the single shelve there was for PS3 games when the Xbox 360 had 3 and the Wii had 4. It felt empty and depressing. But one day, I stumbled on an original copy of Demon Souls and the rest is history.

Sony focusing on hardware and Valve on software, providing Steam with everything that comes with it. We had a glimpse of that with Portal 2. But it ALL but vanished with the 2011 incident. Valve continued its journey with steam os, steam remote play, its own game controller and now the Steam Deck. Ryan has been the go to source for the PlayStation community on RUclips for years and these documentary specials are just brilliant. Thanks brother for the effort & excellent content. The PS3 brought me back to gaming and is my favorite console. I always have gotten into new generations later in the life cycles i.e. I bought a PS1 in 1996, a PS2 in 2004 right after San Andreas came out and didn't get a PS3 until 2012. First off I go in phases with gaming from being excited and all in to not playing for months. What has happened with getting the new gens later in their life cycles is that when I do get them it's usually after the Slim hardware revision, so the hardware has been debugged and streamlined. As for software, there's a huge amount of AAA games that are now on sale and very cheap on the used market. By getting a PS3 shortly before the PS4 I got to experience all of the prior hits at lnd Last Of Us. In addition to a huge backlog and going in & out of gaming I just got a PS4 Pro last year. Just like with the PS3 I've enjoyed great deals on games that were just $60 a few years ago (just bought Assassin's Creed Odyssey for like $12 or something). I have had a blast with the PS4 Pro, but my PS3 Slim is still hooked up on my gaming 4K TV and is still fired up occasionally. This novella is to give kudos to Ryan but also , by giving my history with PlayStation, give my $0.02 on the upcoming PS5 launch. Like the other Playstation releases I am waiting on getting a PS5. Availability is probably forcing that even if I wanted to I couldn't get one, but my trepidation is down to the fact that Sony launch hardware (like all companies hardware for that matter) has had issues. Seeing that the SSD is married to the motherboard really concerned me and I would wager that in 2-3 years the Slim version will make the main SSD removable just like the extended storage drive option. Plus we are really in the depths of diminishing returns now. This isn't a leap like Atari 2600 to NES or even PS3 to PS4 (which was appreciable but not gobsmacking). The PS5 will perform better as far as frame rates and the addition of ray tracing and other graphical fidelity improvements but sitting 6-8 feet away I'd love to see what the A-B blind test reveals for CyberPunk on PS4 and PS5. I sincerely believe most gamers would have trouble distinguishing between the two versions. Patience friends.

They did end up Outselling the 360, but Sony took so much losses overall on the PS3 that's it's hard to claim they won since the PS3 was far from profitable
@@weathersponge5000 BULL****.. That's absolutely not true. Do some research instead of spreading lies. Sony's PlayStation division started turning a profit on PlayStation 3 at the end of 2008. They were able to renegotiate contracts with their hardware partners such as IBM, which allowed them to reduce the PlayStation 3 retail cost to $300. From that point onward, Sony turned a profit each and every quarter and year over year. Meanwhile, Microsoft lost massive amounts of money on the Xbox 360. The 360 had a failure rate of over 54% due to them using cheap and crappy parts. They even lied about the severity of the problem for years until the hundreds of lawsuits started rolling in. When Microsoft finally acknowledged the problem, they had to write off 20 billion dollars in losses to fix the issue. That's not including the amount of money they were forced to pay to settle the lawsuits. Microsoft lost A CRAP TON of money on 360. Also, the sales figures for the 360, while accurate, are highly inflated. Most Xbox 360 owners had to buy the console at least 2-3 times. The actual percentage of people who REALLY owned a 360 was less than 50 million.

Honestly if you brought PS3 after the price drop you were actually saving money. The Ps3 was a visionary piece of hardware. A built in hard drive. Blu ray. Ps1/Ps2 full backwards compatibility. A Cpu so powerful, that it outperforms the Processor in the PS4 in many tasks. It wasn't too expensive. For what you got at the time, it was an absolute bargain.

Interestingly, the PS3 became a good console late into its lifecycle. Early on, Microsoft paid a lot of JRPG developer/publishers to make exclusives for Xbox 360 only, notably Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, SO4 was temporarily exclusive, etc. so as JRPG lover I starved on the PS3 early on, but later on Microsoft found it wasn't worth it to get JRPG exclusives, so they just stopped and PS3 got massive JRPGs later on its life cycle like many Tales of games.

Looking back on the 7th Generation of Gaming, its so strange that I consider it a generation that I would say, was better when it finally ended. I say that because if you think about it, all of the Big Three's had their own major problems to deal with while the gamers where in the middle of it. - Nintendo: While the original Wii sold extremely well for the company, many "hardcore" gamers saw the system as a motion controlled dust collector with mountains of shovelware and moved on to other things that caught their interest, despite a lot of great releases from both Nintendo and other companies. And on top of that, when third-parties actually did release a game on the system that was worth checking out on it (even if the game had normal controls), most third-party games didn't sell well on the system (aside from Just Dance, but I'm pretty sure that's not what most gamers are looking for, so moving on) all because of the image Nintendo put on themselves in this era. - Microsoft: While they were having a great time enjoying their success with the Xbox 360, the Red Ring had other plans for many gamers, out there and while the company definitely had the pockets to deal with it, it's something that the internet hasn't forgot about and something that Microsoft doesn't want to relive again. - Sony: (Pretty much everything Ryan said in this video), but its true. Right out of the gate, Sony was setting themselves up for failure the day they announced the official price tag of the PS3 at launch. We go from high price tag for the system (which would've hurt Sony regardless of the PS3 selling well because they wouldn't make any money back from any system sold) to features that were promised day one to developers having trouble making or porting their games onto the system to fast forward years later, the PSN hack. Then what happened the following generation? Pretty much history repeating itself.
Yeah, the 7th gen was like a comedy of errors. I'd like to add that the Wii is what killed the Wii U. The casuals thought the Wii U was just an addon for the Wii and they had already gotten bored with the Wii. Gamers weren't interested because it didn't have 3rd party support. 3rd party publishers avoided the Wii U because the Wii didn't sell software (the 360 and PS3 have more software sales despite selling 20 million less consoles) Nintendo's 7th gen mistake just took a little longer to catch-up with them.
7th gen was weak In the traditional single player sense , but It's strength IMO was console online social gaming and landmark multiplayer. The system Itself was beautiful , powerful , and complex but as a gaming console It will always be a letdown to me with a weak library. If COD4 MW didn't come out and do what It did for online FPS I would've said 7th gen was easily the worst console gen since the crash. 6th , 5th , 4th , and 3rd were the greatest so far imo... with 5th gen being the outright best ever IMO.
That generation will always be associated with M$’s shady anti-consumer tactics taking center stage; thus, history would repeat itself In 2013. Fuck the trashbox. I‘ve trusted in Sony since I got my first Sony TV and VCR as a kid in the 90’s. Sony and PlayStation for life!
Xbox's real problems started in 2010. Abandoning what made them successful (simplistic console with good video games) to turn their entire focus on the Kinect. Third party devs stopped making exclusives for them since the PS3 was getting easier to develop for. First Party devs also shifted their focus to Kinect and that allowed Sony to shine with their exclusives. Still, if it wasn't for Europe, the 360 would have beaten the PS3. Then they go into the next generation and just blow it. Despite being somewhat quick to fix the horrible PR disaster that was the Xbox One presentation, the damage was already done. The console was more expensive, launched with mediocre Kinect exclusives and an underwhelming Halo 5, lost their significant market share in Europe that the 360 worked so hard for and it was starting to be known as the "900p console". Finally dropped the Kinect, developed the Xbox One X (albeit a tad too late) and added backwards compatibility. Then they mess it up again by announcing "Play Anywhere" which basically meant no more exclusives for the Xbox One. It's a pro consumer move but I think in the end it ended up hurting the Xbox brand more than it did good. All this while Sony stood its ground for this entire generation with pretty much no mistakes besides the crossplay drama. I guess MS kinda gave up at this point and it's when they started pushing hard for services and streaming. Acquiring studios to constantly develop low effort mobile games to dump on Gamepass, focusing on xCloud, etc. 2010 was the beggining of the end for Xbox. The company took a massive dump on the traditional console player in favor of the mobile casual.
@@Manic_Panic Don't forget Titanfall flopped In a sense , which was supposed to be their killer app that would replicate COD's breakout FPS success all over again and give them an easy entry Into next gen sales from what was the biggest genre. Monsters like the cocaine level addiction COD franchise , or GTA franchise only come around once In a great while. Sony keeps creating and neevr just leaning on the multiplat 800 pound gorillas , they understand how Important hardcore exclusives and establishing franchises over time are and they protect their brand.
@Voytron I’ve seen plenty of people do it lol. If people compare the Switch to PS4 and XB1 (and they do a LOT), then why not compare the 360 and PS3 to the Wii? Lol. And if we’re talking in actual terms, the PS3 just BARELY beat the Xbox 360. If Microsoft didn’t pull support of the 360 early, it may have been a different story.
@Retendo While that may be true, how does that change the fact that the Wii won? If I was to say the PS4 is overrated anyway (which is an opinion, same as what you said with the Wii. Not a fact), then that means I could say Xbox One won this generation, which is completely false. Like bruh, it doesn’t matter if the system was overrated. IT WON 😂 And the Wii was great! What are you talking about? 😂😂😂
I remember as a teen when the Sega DreamCast and the PlayStation first came out. I wanted the Gamecast and I remember Sears being out...but they had a PlayStation. Long story short, I bought the Sony and became a fan overnight. Then the PS3 came out. I returned it the following week because of lack of games for it. Now looking back, I agree that the PS3 was great. Maybe even ahead of its time.
DC Williams I became a fan of Sony when the PS1 came out. Meaning I bought their product until the PS3 came out because I was disappointed with their lack of content.
Naughty Dog I remember them saying for Uncharted 2 that they found ways to save on GPU memory and use the Cell to render graphics in some levels of the game. The Cell Broadband Engine was diffidently a powerful CPU for its time no computer was more powerful then the Cell back in the day. It’s crazy to think a game console held this much power.
Thanks Ken Kutaragi and co for delivering an amazing console, packed with features highly regarded in those days. Appreciate the fact that you didn't allowed financial limitations to hinder the development of a console the way it was imagined to be.
Ken Kutaragi is just plain old, and don't know what a good hardware should be. that's why ps3 was such a disaster to develop on. the reason why naughty dog and sony other studios can do so much on their game is because how big the budget was. for other studios, it's not worth the investment. xbox360 was a much better hardware and easier to develop.

In simplified terms, Cell is just a glorified vector processor with a relatively simple PowerPC based processor core at the head (the PPE) with a bunch of semi-independent vector processors tied to it (the SPEs). The SPEs themselves were akin to the capabilities found in VMX vector processing units on the PPE core and other PowerPC based processors, but lacked the more robust set of capabilities found in an actual general CPU core like branch prediction. Functionally they still required a command core of sorts (the PPE) to organize, orchestrate, and synchronize their processes and heavy developer focus on hand tuning memory control. The secret sauce in Cell was not just the ability to theoretically produce it's massive vector floating performance, but to actually get near it by having the prerequisite architecture to allow such a high flow rate of data in and out of the SPEs. Doing it in such a relatively affordable package with a reasonable number of transistors for the time was nothing short of breathtaking, but it was only doable at the cost of more traditional forms of processing. Outside of math heavy operations, even single core Athlon 64s, Pentium 4s and PowerPC 970s would eat Cell for lunch, but they were not designed for specifically high vector performance as needed for a game console (graphics, physics, sound, animation, etc) within a reasonably small affordable package. All the Cell equipped servers IBM designed still used some kind of general processor like an AMD Opteron with the Cell acting as an "accelerator" because the PPE was not good enough in this regard. What is interesting in relation to that is IBM taking the PPE core which they developed for the Cell, and used it to make the Xenon CPU in the 360, using three PPE cores instead of one and ditching the SPEs. While the PPE's branch prediction, load/store, integer capabilities were still well under that of the previously mentioned general single core CPUs, the Xenon with 3x PPEs was much better equipped to handle a more PC like processing environment, and therefor easier for developers to grasp, while still retaining the blistering vector performance that the on-PPE VMX unit provided, esp since the PPE core was designed for 3.2 GHz - much faster than Athlon 64s and PowerPC 970s in 2005. Infact the VMX on Xenon was modified with expanded capabilities that are not found on the PPE in Cell, like the ability to be accessed by both PPE hardware threads. Having that vector performance on the CPU core itself is easier for developers. Xenon could still do a bunch of the broadband data flow capabilities directly into the VMX units that could be done with Cell's SPEs too. You also need to consider that PS3 was sort of a Frankenstein's monster when looking at the total system config. There were many design changes as Sony started to realize how technically limited the Cell really was in alot of ways. Sony first dabbled into using two Cells for all computing + rendering, then looking into using a Cell based GPU (SPEs coupled to Texture Units and ROPS). Sony realized that an actual GPU made by a company whose main product was GPUs (Nvidia) would be a better solution (cheaper and readily available), though the RSX is basically just a cut down Geforce 7800GTX. The addition of a proper GPU and Microsoft doubling the 360's memory to 512 MB would force Sony to add the additional VRAM so the PS3 too would have 512 MB total (256 MB XDR DRAM + 256 MB GDDR3 VRAM). The RSX needed fast memory access and going through the Flex IO to the XDR DRAM, while available, was slower than using the dedicated pool of GDDR3 VRAM. The Xenos GPU in the 360 was much more advanced (unified) and appeared a full year earlier, though to be fair the 7800GTX had been available in summer of 2005.
The vision of kutaragi on creating a design or architecture for a chip that support multi threading of way was ahead its time . The SPE and PPE for sequential and parallel processing cores was actually hardware based tools that could more complex realtime computations like physics simulation. The case of astro physicist that clustered ps3s as a mini server farm for crunching those realtime simulation clearly explains that vision of kutaragi was actually was to design one hell of a chip that can do everything from gameing to sciencetific simulations 🔥
The PS3 is easily my favorite game system of all time. The rocky start gave way to a stellar last half. I still play my PS2 compatible one today and it still has a permanent spot in one of my HDMI ports.
Fell from grace? Well, the PS3 is my favorite system of all time up to this point.... Absolutely had a blast with that system and still do to this day.....
PS3 was a developers worst nightmare, due to the Cell technology, we only ever saw 40% of the PS3's true power. Wasted potential. PS4 was the complete opposite, thank God!
I know right? It was a shame but at least we have awesome games like the Uncharted trilogy, God Of War III, The Last Of Us, Metal Gear Solid IV, Persona 5 , etc
The "40% of it's power" statement was from Yoshida in like.... 2008. And I'm pretty sure it was in relation to Uncharted 1 which pales in comparison to later PS3 exclusives. Granted, it's entirely possible that the PS3's power wasn't 100% maxed out by developers, but even if the PS3 was Sony's main platform for longer, it's unlikely that PS3 games would've been much (if any) better than The Last of Us on a technical level.
The best thing about the PS3 is it taught Sony a ton about what _not_ to do with a console.
Funny though that in the end, the console still worked out for them.
I don't think the generation of folks who made this console were actually avid gamers, their business viewpoint was quite detached.
The console didn't really worked out for them, they did make a huge comeback and did sell a good 86 Million units, but Sony overall took billions of dollars of losses on the PS3 just cause of the launch alone

Shemus Young has theorized that the PS3 wasn’t made the way it was for games but to to make it harder to port games to the 360 thus giving the PS3 a lot of de facto exclusives. Unfortunately, it hurt Sony big time

Initially, they didn't. Or PS3 ports were much worse. As a result, the PS3 had a small and underwhelming library from the beginning.

both have really good advantages, Sony's got exclusives and Microsoft's got studios, Sony can keep on expanding on the franchises we as customers love and Microsoft can create franchises we will love, so it'll be hard to win this gen since Microsoft's doing almost everything the right way, and Sony hasn't spoken that much about the PlayStation 5, we know specs, controller and we had that Unreal Engine 5 demo that was made on PlayStation 5 hardware but since Epic Games is not exclusive to Sony well, that same tech demo could be run on XBOX Series X hardware, so, yeah.

@youre An idiot WRONG... Sony sold off their computer business YEARS AGO. Microsoft doesn't get a penny from them.
@@christiandyers6309 Yes the PS3 made profit in some quarters, but in general Sony lost money on the PS3 cause of their terrible launch, as the video states, Sony lost 4+ Billion dollars on the PS3 in it's first two years alone, yes they made profit several quarters after that, but it wasn't enough to make up the money Sony lost on the PS3 just cause of the launch.

Honestly if you brought PS3 after the price drop you were actually saving money. Cause XBL was $60, consoles generally have 6 year lifespan so if you wanted the full gaming experience w/ online play, inv friends, watching netflix, etc you would paid $360 (span of 6 years) for their XBL alone, whilst PSN was free.

The 7th generation was a case of polar opposites. The Xbox 360 raced out of the gate, but a substantial hardware issue, a less than exceptional reception in Asia, and gradual diminishing of exclusive titles narrowed the gap after every year.
The PS3 had a very tumultuous start, but strong support from first party developers, fortuitous adoption of Blu Ray as opposed to HD-DVD, and a commitment to delivering incredible exclusives all the way up until the end of its lifecycle definitely helped carry it over the finish line in terms of bang for buck.

Please like when someone realizes that the background music is from the game "Detroit become Human" in PS4. Amazing song.
But the ps3 won in the end which continues today
I mean, I hate to be THAT guy, but the Wii actually won lol.
I really dont know why MS dropped full support of X360 so early as they did. PS3 grew their momentum towards end and that was part of PS4 success.
@@stinkynacho2362 they pulled support early, but they also started a year earlier
IT WON 😂
And the Wii was great!
Fucks a Gamecast
To this day this documentary is one of the most revealing and insightful works analyzing the PS3 era.
Yeah true
Ryan Scherbluk still very powerful ps4 isn’t even powerful enough to run ps3 games. Even PC’s barely can.
As somebody who've programmed for the CELL processor, I really loved this video, superb work.
Damn only watched the intro and this looks so well pieced together keep up the Excellent work on here you really are a credit to RUclips ps world of thing only one channel I need for ps news etc.. I need looking forward to watching this later on.
thank you :)
Bro this guy makes high quality documentaries
Reallt can't fault this guys Channel at a very well researched and thought through documentary and ps news updated
Great having just one place to go to that really does cover it's all
Watched it last night and enjoyed it loved hearing about the tech n spec side of it all more in-depth than I have ever heard before
Great that he covered the Folding Home project and how people used this buy these to link them together
Although am still unsure what exaclty this was all for :s lol
Thank you!
this console was my childhood i played bo2, lbp, lord of the rings conquest, warhawk, batman arkham city, portal, journey, rayman, limbo, bad company, battlefield 1943, motorstorm, sonic, gran turismo, and more. loved playing this thing with my brothers
Love these documentaries!
The development may have been difficult as hell but I'm happy the PS3 has risen up to the occasion and is doing well even these days. I've had several PS3's over the course of 9 years and I've only ever had 1 old PS3 have the yellow light of death. Every PS3 since has worked fine and now I have 3 PS3's (1 of them a friend's). It also has a great library of exclusive games that I play today.
damn man this was great, wow i learned a lot honestly. I love how focused you are on the playstation legacy but also quick to not fanboy and point out flaws and be objective and honest with its fumbles. you make excellent videos man you deserve to be in the millions of subs. underrated channel imho.
I don’t intend to retire my launch day 60GB PS3s, of which I own three; I just hope they don’t YLOD on me.
I may have the latest PC tech and a PS4 Pro, but I’ll keep enjoying the awesome PS3 as long as it’s alive, well, and kicking tons of ass. ☝🏻
Prince Groove
Ur may be trying to keep it alive, but sooner or later, Sony will kill it by closing its online systems
Vitor S Unfortunately, I fear that day will come sooner than later. 😭
@@Vitor.S. nah it won't look at ps1 it's still kicking
Damn bro I've been a subcontractor for years you even made a video of one of my topic about what game could bring the PS.VITA back from the dead. All I'm trying to say is your doing a great job and this was a great video about the PS3 . Thank you for always keeping me up to date with everything Playstation. Keep up the awesome work you've done over the years
Those Kevin Butler commercials were so effective. That's what made me want a PS3.
You do amazing documentaries I can imagine how much work in time you put into it but on the other hand thank you very much I enjoy the PF3 is my favorite playstation consul could that worth to underrated
Doing it in such a relatively affordable package with a reasonable number of
transistors for the time was nothing short of breathtaking, but it was only doable at the cost of more traditional forms of processing.
Microsoft: We can win this
Sony: I’ve been doing this longer than you’ve been alive.
Sony is new in the field .. Nintendo is old
Xbox Tempesta Pc master race wins it always
And yet Xbox won this gen.
@@fcukugimmeausername 7th gen? No its 3rd because ps3 beat it at its final year, and the wii sold more units than both the ps3 and xbox 360.
Nintendo > Sony > Sega > Microsoft...by age!
Microsoft > Sony > Nintendo > Sega...by how much the'r worth!
Fell from grace? Well, the PS3 is my favorite system of all time up to this point.... Absolutely had a blast with that system and still do to this day.....
23:44: Haaa, that's Night Wolf's fatality in Mk9
PS3 was a developers worst nightmare, due to the Cell technology, we only ever saw 40% of the PS3's true power. Wasted potential. PS4 was the complete opposite, thank God!
Truth!
I didn't believe the 40% thing til Yoshida said it himself
I know right?
It was a shame but at least we have awesome games like the Uncharted trilogy, God Of War III, The Last Of Us, Metal Gear Solid IV, Persona 5 , etc
@@Ezequielroldan2901 Agreed! Love those games :)
