Good stuff, the solder is going to be drawn in from the heat so it's better to heat the fittings where the solder needs to wick towards and you don't burn the finished wall or skirting!
Great video Mark and I liked your skill when it came to soldering those joints, I kept saying to myself he’s got to burn the wall paper, but you didn’t 😂 🙂. Excellent entertainment 👍
Hi Mark, a very enjoyable film there thank you, it was great to see some soldering you know how it helps to settle my ocd. Some very nice control with the torch, well done 😉, also no problems with the boiler, a nice job I’m sure everyone concerned will be very happy. Have a great week and as always take care mate, regards Chris. 👍👍👍
Hi Mark, Great video once again! I have been watching your videos from the start but first time commenting. Just wondering how you price that sort of job? Is it per rad or day rate? Been thinking for a while able starting up on my own but pricing always been stopping me from doing so as find is so hard! Are you able to do any videos with regard to this ? Many thanks, Ryan
Hey Ryan…. Thanks for the support over the years.. This one I looked and and priced to cover the day and what it would cost me in materials as it was for Dave my Carpenter who does bits for me and I do bits for him
Lucky with the designer radiator that the flow was right there a nightmare when you go to a job and boiler or heating is drained and having to explain if it’s a double can flip it but the singles should get rid of the baffle
Nothing finer than soldering fittings, press fit and everything else serves a purpose but but for pure aesthetic reasons end feed all day ,for me anyway
Im a diyer do my own plumbing etc Fitted 2 new rads recently i use loctite 55 string for tails no leaks ,but see lots of plumbing use the Blue liquid am i just lucky or should i convert to the Blue liquid for fitting tails
Bit surprised to see 8mm pipework being reused in a renovation. Surely better to re-pipe some of that in 22/15 to make it a bit more ready for low-temp heating? Rads looked pretty small, too.
I think the phrase you’re looking for is polishing a turd. Hate those jobs. As soon as something leaks/doesn’t work it’s “well it worked before you touched it”
Another fab video there sir. I am a plumber myself and need to start swapping out old type 11 rads for 21’s throughout our house. It’s quite a large house. I have had nightmares balancing it all out and still don’t think it’s right. We have a lift conversion also, with two 600 x 800 rads ups there. The pipework is coming from the rear of the house as that’s where the oil boiler is. I hear hissing sounds from the lock shield in the bathroom, nearest to the boiler. Do you find shutting the lock Shield to almost closed will get the furthest rads hotter and remain hot? It’s a real tricky system to balance out over 3 Levels Mark. Suggestions appreciated as I struggle to balance efficiently. Cheers
Always love the hanging rads tips 👍🏻 I’ve done a few in my house now following your methods, cheers mate 👍🏻
You’re welcome mate…. So many different ways to do it
Great video and content again mate.
Thanks mate…. Appriciate the comment buddy

Glad you liked it mate
Good to see you soldering again Mark, like riding a bike, you never forget. Great content, thank you.
Thanks Keith… gotta keep my eye in
much better video Mark no advertising at the start just real plumbing ...thanks
Glad you enjoyed it mate..
Got to do a bit of advertising now and again to keep the channel going…
Lovely job with the pipework around that column rad and super neat work with that blowtorch cheers for the video take care
Thanks mate
Thanks for that, Mark. Top blowtorch skills there: I bet your crème brûlées are a marvel!
Hahahah thanks mate

Hahahah…. The skilled touch with the soldering

Yep I was a little worried with the system as I’ve not seen it up and running
Great video Tiff
Thanks mate
Very tidy job on the back to back rads with very skillful soldering the other rads were fairly straight forward good result
Thanks mate….. it’s the delicate touch lol
Great video mark as always keep up the good work you have been doing over the last few years all the best 👍
Thanks Jay 👍🏼👍🏼
I use a domestic kitchen fire blanket when I'm soldering that close. There only a few quid & fold up neatly. 👍
Tbh I find they get in the way most of the time…. Just have to be careful
Radiators? glad I live between the tropics 🇰🇪.
All right for some
After your pilot through the wall, you could have enlarged the hole from either side to make it tidier?
I could have done a lot of things….. however this as said in the video, is being touched up afterwards 👍🏼

Yep always worth knocking the baffle out imho…..

Use what works for you and you trust mate… that’s what I’ve always done
Come on Matt no drain off or sleeved piped threw wall usually bang on 😜😜
It’s Mark….. but thanks for listening 🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Press can not get close to the wall and the long fitting sweeps is a big problem.😮. I rarely use pro press plus the fittings are expensive.
Angle jaws 👍🏼

Customer just wanted to refit the rads… all the stuff I did was in 15mm as you saw 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice to see you doing a bit of traditional pipe work again Mark
You haven’t lost it anyway 😂
😎👍🤜
Thanks mate…. Got to keep your eye in
Where the drain off Mark 😳
Spoke about this in the video Kevin

Something that size needs very fine tuning and balancing….. lock them down then half/full turn and work your way along
@@MJTiffPlumbing cheers for your help. It’s like a trial & error on bigger systems.
Can take a lot of fine tuning
The auto balancing valves are a good shout in those scenarios, How many radiators is there in the house?
@@Kingkongkirk1234 I have looked at them but they still require setting up! We have 14 + towel rail.
