A OEM alternative I found was using the Clubsport s front knuckles. Gives you -2 degrees of negative camber and you can still retain factory upper mounts. Currently installed on a mk7 R
Thanks a lot!
After having two Volkswagens in my 20s and 30s and two Audi’s in my 40s and 50s, i’ve watched your videos and became inspired to purchase a 2019 GLI as my every day driver...Will obviously dream to get a stage one tune done someday after the warranty expires... Keep up the tremendous entertaining education ...
I am lowered and have the SP LCA’s. It’s simply not enough negative camber for any track work. Looking forward to installing these mounts. Well, make that, looking forward to AFTER installing these mounts. Total PITA. Regardless, thanks as always, Paul.
Hoping to pick up a set of these in the new year. Waiting on an email back from Max to try and warranty my coilovers that had the top stud shear off. You guys have some of the best customer service and info for volkswagens. Keep up the awesome work guys!
Camber makes all the difference on course!
Mine were super squeaky and I highly recommend opening the tops and filling with some grease before installing them
The Eddy’s Garage The kit comes with a packet of grease. The instructions say to apply liberally to the inside of the bushing. I am assuming they are referring to what you are describing.
Hwy88 Forever yes they now come with grease. I had one of the first sets made and after letting superpro know the issue they started supplying grease with the tops
@ 5:37 “Push down and get your nut on” 😭
I was thinking of something like this for my GTI. I will take it to my first track day in a couple weeks. My question is my car is a daily plus track several times a year. This setup will help corner but what about grip in the straights because I'm pretty sure I have close to 385 lbs of torque to my front tires? I'm running 245/30 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on it.
Your right foot will need to modulate acceleration down the straight. With 385lb/ft you are traction limited.
You will gain more time by improving the geometry by adding more negative camber at the track.
Aim for 38psi hot with the MPS4S. Start at 32/33 psi front/rear. That’s what I use at VIR. You may need to adjust up or down depending on your track
Make sure you flush the brake fluid and go to Motul600/660 or Castrol SRF or something similar. If regular DEs are in your future, you may want to go to track pads. Pagid RSL29’s or Ferrodo DS2500’s
Have fun. Where are you running?
@@joseduque8912 I have APR big brake kit and coil overs. Thanks for information.
Those are great brakes!
hi, looks like it adds about an inch of ride height. Is that correct? Obviously you can then adjust that out with your adjustable low spring perch. But on stock struts, what happens then?
I lowered my mk6 jetta 2.5 wagon with springs on struts and now when i get it aligned they said i need camber ajustment, i only went 1" lower and tire eats on the inside would this kit help me correct this issue?
Got mine from alibaba. They're perfect.
Link??
Would these be safe to daily driven on? I have a MK7.5 GTI that I Autocross and drive daily.
Would these with a KW SC give you about -2.5 degree of camber?
Have you used the grease that came with the package? :)
Will these camber mounts work with KW V1s? I have the 034 Dynamic Camber+ plates and they could not be used with the KWs because the bolt from the shock would not align with the center hole where the strut bolts up
Do you need to retain the stock rubber stopper?
Does this mount able to install on Bilstien PSS10 coilover? Thanks for the advice
Is the camber adjustable?
Did you experience any clunking with yours? I just had mine installed with ED springs and i'm getting some clunking on dips and uneven roads.
I’m having some clunking on mine as well. Except I have the stock camber plates. I was looking to upgrade since my handling has been loose. Getting really tired of it.
Hello! Do you know if these fit on the KW V3 coilovers?
Adding this much camber, would it work for a car being used for long drives and daily usage?
For street cars we usually like no more than -1.5 to -1.8* camber to avoid uneven tire wear on extended straight trips.
The more frequently you drive fast around curves, do track events, and hoon around, the more even the tire wear will be with negative camber.
At -2.0* and beyond, you will want to start checking the inside shoulders for wear, and rotating the tires religiously every 5k miles.
Most folks with experience can tell you: having an improper alignment with the wrong toe angle will destroy tires faster than camber.
Hope this helps!
@@TheTexican05 Hey. Thank you for taking out the time to respond. I was on Coilovers for the longest time but since two of them failed, I am back to OEM suspension. I think now its possible to put these plates for daily usage. The Camber would be just a tad below -2.0 degree. Not sure if its feasible for using for long drives or fast spirited drives where the distances are 400 - 500 miles at a time with mix of turns and straights. Completely agree on the Toe angle and whenever the alignment is done, I always ensure the toe is as equal as it can be and the thrust and steer ahead angle is 0 degree.
I just love volksies
Do these camber plates require any modifications to the opening in the too of the strut towers?
Following, would like to know as well. I was unable to use 034 Dynamic Camber+ upper mounts with KW V1 because it would not clear the opening of the strut tower
These are a direct bolt in. Only clearance issues might occur if you have a ridiculously fat aftermarket spring setup that’s super beefy and comes close to the strut tower walls.
Contact SuperPro for the best input here. They’re pretty solid to work with. 🔧 🇦🇺
Is the Touareg dead?
No new videos of it.
We have an update on the latest Alltrack video
Is it alright to use on the stock strut and aftermarket springs?
yes
Like he said yes. If you go really low it could reduce the life of the shocks but they will work.
Thanks!
Have I been pronouncing camber wrong all this time?!
