this is by far the best tutorial on how to do this. I have an a3 so I ended up having to remove the axel to get the strut out but other than everything else was perfect. Great tutorial. Thank you so much!
Omg can't believe how informative and easy to follow your video is... Top man
Used this as a base tutorial when fitting coilovers on my S3 this weekend.
Thanks Blake
only took us 8 hours ! lol
Awesome! Yeah the front is a pain in the ass to get out of the knuckle sometimes. Glad I could help ya out.
Tips and what did you learn doing yours?
The show must go on!
Great channel. My S3 now has 034 lowering springs and rear sway bar thanks to your great videos!!!! Thanks for the video, i am subscribed.
Great video. I was not able to locate the vid on the rears. Heard the rear springs are fun to remove. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Love this channel, been a sub for a long time! Inspired me to start filming. Thanks for the great content dude.
Your Channel is f...ing awesome... even though I own a C63 AMG 😊 Can’t believe you don’t have more subs. You deserve it!!
I wish you had uploaded this yesterday when I botched my install.
Getting rid of the wrx has definitely made your content better overall.
Drew Vesely thanks Drew I definitely agree.
Cool modyfication for a cool car!
Most underrated channel on planet earth
Great video very informative. I noticed you stated that the S3 is already lower and you lowered and you lowered t .75 additional. My question would be how much inches would a base A3 needed to be lowered to compare to your project.
Love your videos, so detailed and provide great tips.
I'm thinking of changing mine on my s3 but I notice you didn't fit any rubber bump stops to the shock, are they needed.
Nice bro, give us an update on how the car handles later and your pros/cons.
That's a wonderful car! 😃
I'm getting highering springs!😁
Great tutorial!
What’s the torque spec for the top three factory bolts? I’m assuming it’s okay to hand tighten but I like to torque spec my bolts.
Thanks
nice video, thanks..No sleeves huh..Any noise from the new spring
Hi Blake I have a 2017audis3 and I changed the springs using 034 just like you for a year now and I notice when I go to turn left or right I hear a clicking sound. But I didn't used the Campbell. So you think that could be the problem?
Nice job man..so when you install the camber plate up top won't your stock tires wear uneven on the inside now ?
Hello my friend did you just change the springs ? what about the shocks ?
Hi I have an A3, I want to change the suspension but not the coil. Do I have to remove the axle? Is it advisable to use a torque wrench?
Any update on these? People seem to have split opinions on the 034 camber mounts. Half say great, other half say they are junk that makes noise and fail quickly.
Hi Blake. Nice vid. I have an RS3 lowered in neuspeeds. Did you notice a big improvement? How does it feel? Any premature wear on your inner tire? What camber and toe Nagle for both rear and front? Thanks and keep up the great work!
reviews on this please ? did u change shocks also ? i have neuspeed spring but did not fit yet
Installing HR springs on my 2017 A4. Is this install pretty similar to an A4?
Did you do 034 rear shock mounts? I don't see how to get the dang things apart (MR shocks). Also, the rear springs look identical to stock - same wire diameter, number of coils, coil diameter, and height.... Hmmm.
what would you recommend to lower my 2016 audi a3
Actually I have Audi A3 s3 2015 sportbak and my wheels size is 19 inch so What mm I shall get ? Please help ?
Great tutorial! I'll be using this as reference for my Golf R. Just a few questions though if you don't mind. The headlight leveler, do you just unbolt it from underneath and move it out of the way? And did you have to loosen the inner axle to get the strut out? I've seen a few videos where they unbolted all 6 (?) of the triple square bolts to make it easier to remove the strut but the few S3 videos i've seen this step isn't taken.
Just remove the headlight leveler then re install after the spring is in. No need to remove axel on S3 👍🏼
@@BlakesGarage Many thanks!!!!
Hey bro, what's your opinion on the dynamic camber plates?
Is the difference noticeble , how are the front tyres wearing out ?
Great tutorials btw 👍
Simone Garozzo the camber plates are great I have 2.4 degrees of negative camber in the front now. Turn in is amazingly quick now much more front end grip. Handling is vastly improved over stock. Can’t wait to autoX it or track it for some good review time.
Is this similar on the s3 8p
how did you remove the end link bolt so easily with out holding it with something i tried to hold it in place with a hex and it stripped the bolt two hours later no progress at this point i just want to tighten the end link bolt back but have no way of doing so
I will do this for my 2018 RS3. Do you have the alignment specs for your car? Does the stock strut tower plate not allow for negative camber? Thanks and great how to video!
I don’t remember the full specs but I think I ended up with -2.3 degrees camber up front. No adjustments for stock mounts at all.
@@BlakesGarage Did you notice any new noise or knocking after installing the 034 plates? A few folks on the Golf R forums reports some noise. Not sure if this was also reported for the S3 platform.
For an A3 you'll need to remove the axle nut. I replaced both front and back. Front took me about 8 hours total and rear took me only 2-3 hours. This is a great guide but there is actually a better way to do it without sliding the sleeve down. Removing the whole assembly is much easier
This is what is keeping from lowering my 17 a3. I heard that you had to remove the axle....
@@DarinDziergas you only need to remove the axle nut which is a 24mm 10 point
Would this apply to a 2020 Audi a3 Quattro ?
What was the total on camber and how's the setup holding up now?
Inspired to install springs on my S3, but any tips on torque specs for bolts??? Where to find...
034 Motorsports has all the values on there website instructions
Do you know if ill need to remove the axel for a 15' a3 sline as well?
I’m pretty sure you would have to. It’s actually pretty easy to do you just have to undo the triple square bolts from the transmission flange with a large extension.
super newb question. Would a spring upgrade like this work on my 2017 Audi A3? I mean if don't want to spend on coilovers yet?
Yeah totally 👍🏼
So how did you get the 034 camber plates to give 2.4 neg camber? Also, how is the wear on your tires? One more thing, i'm in San Diego, and pot holes are everywhere here (I probably look drunk because i'm always swerving to avoid them), but looking to go with the same springs on my 2018 S3, did you get the mrc recalibrated after install ( i've read necessary / not necessary)?
Curtiss Weaver every things been great. Yes you will get a bit more tire wear but in the right way in my opinion not from all the tire rollover under hard cornering.
Hey Blake. Do all the 034 motorsport springs come with their logo and part number? I bought me a set online through a forum and I dont see any indication on there besides small labels with another set of number which I googled and it may be oem springs instead.
I mean they should at least be grey and resemble what I showed in the video.
Hey Blake... I was just wonder ... did you do the alignment when you finsh install the lower spring and where did you buy those star screw scoket
Yeah I took it to an alignment shop the next day. Amazon for the tools I think I left a link in the description.
@@BlakesGarage thank you
You call that a knife, that's not a knife, this is a knife, hahaha. I can't believe you didn't have a knife. Didn't you feel naked, I always feel odd when I don't have my knife on me.
10 hours later thank you!
he made it look easy what did you struggle on? asking bcs i plan on doing it this weekend
It is easy. Maybe 3 hours max.
Aren't you not supposed to use impact tools on the top of struts? something like that... swore I heard that can be an issue.
Do you need to do a full alignment after lowering the car?
Yes
I was told I need a set of torque bolts to do this is that true?
I show everything I used in the video.
What lip is that on the front end sir? Great video
Pro tip: you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Wesson Martin Yup, I have been watching on flixzone for since december myself :D

How did the car feel with 034 springs?
Great
The S3 with magnetic suspension does ride slightly higher than a standard S3 suspension. How is the car handling since fitting the springs, has the magnetic suspension been adversely affected in any way, thanks. Great video by the way 👍
Would love to know the answer to this as I'm looking into the 034motorsports lowering springs as well, and would love to know what it does to the Magnetic suspension.
Would this be probably the same install as a mark seven Golf R? A shop close to me wanted almost $2000 just to install lowering springs on my car, I guess I will watch this video and see how much of a pain in the ass it is, considering I have DCC, so, that probably makes it a lot harder of an install
I have Have the mag ride also. Do it yourself it will cost you $50 and 5 hours labor. My video should be exactly the same.
Blake's Garage thanx brother. People been trying to scare me out of doing it, sayings is wayyyy harder vs a GTI lol I guess they don’t want to see my car look better who knows lol thanks man. I just got 1 more sub
@@Jvilleman400 I've read that some DIY'ers have used the 2x4 method to help pop out the strut from the knuckle. Did you end up switching out the suspension on the R?
Magnetic ride is cool but i personally would never get in a car. Those things tend to leak after a certain time and replacing them is so expensive compared to normal.
"Little Knife" lol
Did you notice any pre loading issues since you didn’t change the end link?
Was wondering the same thing.
Well I’ll find out about to do this to my car tomorrow except the chamber plate not doing that. I’ll keep you updated
Cool, let me know.
So I installed the rear ran out of time for the front doing that tomorrow.
Alright everything installed. I did have to press the bar a little to get the front in so there is some preload. It hasn’t affected me in any yet but my rear endlinks need to be changed. I think the left one was bad prior to the install and the install made it worse. Might be changing those next week. Getting a clunking sound.
I pop out the axle :(
Poor man's spreader tool: Grab a 8mm hex bit and grind two opposing sides down a bit, voila.
my end links arent fitting
You don't show the after distance, thanks for video
What do you mean? Lots of other videos to watch if you’re talking about seeing them after settling.
Why didn’t you show how to do the rears. Misleading
Maybe I did another video on that I don’t remember. Search my channel
@@BlakesGarage maybe you’re right and I was just wrong and was the asshole. How bout that huh guy!? lol
@@mhsucio6830 haha yeah I looked and at the end of this video there a link 🔗 at the credits to the rear full details best on the net 😝
3 hours to get just one out of a 10 year old A3 lol long job for me.
Nice!!! Will be lowering my rs3 soon. If your from socal come checkout our facebook group page “Socal-rs3 8v owners”
I beg your pardon! I can change a strut but can't take the wheel off! 🤦 Now what? 🤷
Too much work dude. 🤯
Don t do it! I did it to my A3 sedan 2017, and makes a lot of noises. eibach sportline
OH THIRTY FOUR motor sports... not 0 3 4...
*facepalm* That was stupid. You installed lowering springs because it understeers alittle bit? You want more camber at the front to minimise understeer? dont you already have 034 motorsport antiswaybars? Why do you still get more understeer? you could have just reverse staggered your tires, just put wider front tires than the back, it should add alittle weight at the front and front end grip to smooth out whatever understeer is left.
No need for springs bro, just keep the 034 sway bars and reverse stagger your tires, and youl see a big difference.
You did all this before doing other minor modifications like wider front tires and lighter magnesium rims like OZ rims..etc..
What are you even using at the track? Are you even using toyo r888r? Thoes are the best for the track and autocross.
I’m on Nitto NT-01’s, rear sway helps a lot but so did the additional camber. If you look at my tire wear it was more than nessasary. Actually I wish I still have more front camber.
