In many universities if this video Were presented or she would come to speak she would be branded as telling lies and as racist. I just discovered my undergraduate school a small liberal arts College a very good academic standing now has segregated dorms as an option. They are called Affinity housing.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, for allowing us, the simple people to be acquainted with the corners of the world which are being hidden so very thoroughly, for making sure that history isn't forgotten, and hopefully - isn't repeated. This is the only way a change can be initiated. You are unbelievably brave.

I absolutely admire this woman and the stance she has taken on fighting against oppression. Many people and myself sympathise with what she had endured through under the North Korean regime and I support her continuing stance against oppression.

“I allowed him to rape me”
I’m not easily shaken, but that line gave me chills. This level of pragmatism, to racionalize being submitted to such abuse, can only happen in the most desperate situations. The more you study the history of socialism, the more you encounter episodes like this, where women (doesn’t matter if they are doctors, lawyers, teachers) desperate for food had to give up their dignity and the sacrament of their bodies for survival.
I’ll give up my life fighting any tyrannical government before this fate befalls the women in my family, in my community or in my country.
