    Nice guide, thank you for sharing! Are your plants getting any rest during the year? I checked that the mean temperature in Singapore it's >20 celsius degrees, so basically it's impossible for cacti to go dormant. Are they in vegetation all year long? Thank you very much for your answer!

      Thank you for watching! During November, I start uprooting my cactus. I root trim them, clean, and repot on a fresh new soilmix. Usually the process, will take around 2-4 weeks, this will give the cactus a rest or dormant period and prepare them for the summer wherein they grow fast.

    Very cool channel and beautiful plants! I'm just wondering in your experience how seedlings respond to high temperatures? Do they like 30 degrees plus and grow fast at very high temps like adults or do you keep the temps a bit lower for them?

    • @theplantprinceph
      @theplantprinceph  Год назад

      I keep them a bit lower around 30 degrees Celsius. High temperature will make them turn red and slow their growth.

    Hi, I just left a large query on another video. you have answered my query on the fungicide although I can't get Dithane here in the UK. If you read my other comment please let me know if my suggestion will be a reasonable substitute. My other queries on the mixes still stand as the plants are rather specialized and the seeds are minute. I want really good drainage but not to lose the seeds in the open mix. Many thanks, this channel is a fabulous find!!!!!

    • @F1ngerBlast3r
      @F1ngerBlast3r 3 месяца назад

      I grew some seedlings, similar method to this without fungicide. Just sterilise your pots, tools and media before hand. Use tap water which has been left a while for the chlorine to evaporate 😎👍🏻

    • @theplantprinceph
      @theplantprinceph  Месяц назад

      If you worry about the drainage, you could do layering. For the first layer add pumice, for the second layer add your regular cactus mix, and for the top layer add a thin layer of peatmoss or organic. You can cover the seeds with either silica sand or akadama.

    • @theplantprinceph
      @theplantprinceph  Месяц назад

      For the fungicide, you could opt not to use any as long as the soil mix is sterile. You can either heat it in a microwave or cook the soil mix.

      Thank you for watching! Sometimes there’s a build up of Algae, if this happen I remove the algae using tweezers then spray fungicide before closing the container. To avoid fungal infestation, avoid opening the container. If there’s a present of fungal remove the infected seedling and spray fungicidez

      Thank you for watching! 🙂 Sometimes I do mix up Hormex and Vit B1. But most of the time, I just use the B1. If it’s not available then I’ll use Hormex or the Siam plant and root hormone. And yes, I mix it/them together with dithane.
      Here’s the measurements, 2 liters of clean water + 1.5 teaspoon of dithane powder + atleast two cap bottle of the B1 (most of the time I don’t measure it since there’s no bad effect even if I used excess amounts)

      Thank you for watching! Yes, it’s okay to use Ramgo soilless seedling mix or any medium, just make sure it’s sterilized. You can sterilize your medium by heating it in a microwave oven or by solar sterilization which is exposing the medium to intense heat of the sun while it’s covered for at least 5 days. I just prefer using peatmoss, since it is the medium used in Thailand nurseries.
