I'm honestly obsessed with how you just leave a hole to space and let gas escape. Logically it makes sense but also it does NOT seem safe in a very primal monkey brain way.
Hehe. The space doesn't "actively" suck/drain your gas out. The gas just slowly diffuses out on its own, so a one-tile gap isn't really a big deal.... even in normal colonies, as long as your oxygen generation is stable. Also there's some hydrogen there initially that takes time to escape.
@@tabeyuriko7251 exactly! it intuitively feels like space should suck out the gas and depressurize your base, but within the logic of the game's gas mechanics it makes sense that it doesn't. just a weird feeling!
When does the speed run actually start? Is it when you press play or when your colony launches? Also, does pausing count toward speed run time or only when it’s playing? You did awesome!
It starts when you actually embark so picking initial dupes doesn't count. Currently for speedrun.com rules, Other speedruns count real time(steel/plastic/first rocket launch) so pause time do count. For Great Escape speedrun only cycles are counted and pauses won't affect the time.
Great video, what's the reason for choosing all bionic dupes? can you elaborate a little on the starting strategy? also yeah a commentary version would be awesome, we'd get some insights and also it's easier to focus
I wanted as much bionics as possible when I'm on the final stage of charging temporal tear opener. Because they can work 3-4 cycles non-stop and do not require an oxygen environment to survive or work properly. And since the pod does not necessarily always offer a bionic every print, I wanted to take every bionic I have as possible. And yeah I think I will try to make a shorter highlighted version with explanation! Thanks for the support
This is seeded (not random). We have both seeded and random seed category, and I usually runs seeded. I would admire if someone else runs a random and quick great escape though :)
This is neat, and here I am messing with steel and geothermal plants and relying on wild crops a thousand cycles in
Hehe thank you! it takes quite a few of practice and planning
@tabeyuriko7251 Is this a set seed? I assume so
@@bengoodwin2141 Yes it is!
Fun watch! That was nice.
Very impressive and a fun watch. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching! :D
This is dope, amazing work! I'm gonna try to apply a few things to my world.
Cool cool ! Hope there's something in the video that might help your colony :))
Great stuff. The manual radbolt generators are hilarious.
With high machinery they could even outrad the reactor!
that was epic. ive been wondering what a speed run would look like. going to have to finish my 100% run then start looking for a seed.
Welcome to the Speedrunning realm I guess? :)

def wanna see the break down/thought process on how you thought of the run

31:19 Shit got real real fast. Rockets on cycle 7 lol 😂
haha I actually have a video of launching one in cycle 4!
@tabeyuriko7251 HOW!? O_o mad respect man. It was very entertaining to watch 😀
I have to be an idiot. There is no other explanation why I suck so bad at oni.
All pros start as a noob too! Took me hundreds of cycles to launch my first rocket for the very first time :)

@ if I start playing it I would do some research there !
Not me pressing tab many times to change the speed 😅
😅😅😂
was this a random seed? i feel you got far too lucky with placement of your teleporters. I always get them in the worst spots and very far away.

Almost as impressive as my wukong speedrun. FYI I'm pretty sure my ear drums bursted in the first second. Great video tho epic stuff 🤯🤯🤯
Thanks 💌 and Sorry 😭
Bu seed hileli, rastgele harita olmadığı için sayılmaz
This is indeed a set seed and I never advertise it as a random seed run
good work, but you can do way better xD. Congrats
I can do way better? I hope so haha
how?
@@tabeyuriko7251 He can do it in 26 cycles, unlike us peasants who take 500+ cycles.
