Yeah Rad ocean is good for the water(obviously) and radiation related stuff (beetas/uranium/saturn traps) Just it doesn't have any reed fiber source even if you use the teleporter. Have to get fiber from rockets!

@@tabeyuriko7251 Only on Steam. In game achievements still work. You need to unlock Steam achievements only once, once done you don't care anymore. I have all but the ones that came with the DLCs. And anyway, use the MOD to re-enable them if you REALLY want to unlock them on Steam while in debug/sandbox mode.

A lot of cold capacity for (long) temporary heat dumping could be nice too! :P

There's usually a game-generated non-magma channel for you to reach the flipped planet from the surface without going through Magma. But that is a good idea too!

Well, for a real starvation ranch you could never get to increase their population if wild, and if tamed they will eventually go extinct because of delecta vole ranch morph. Either way it can't be a long term solution for feeding a lot of dupes. It takes 12 seconds to groom a critter. Assuming your (single rancher) dupe has +5 husbandry stats, each groom will last for 1.5 cycles. And if the ranch dupe works 18 blocks per cycle, it can keep up to 56 voles groomed, and feed about 11 dupes just with this ranch and grooming. If +10 husbandry then it will keep 75 voles groomed and feed about 14 dupes.

It starts when you actually embark so picking initial dupes doesn't count. Currently for speedrun.com rules, Other speedruns count real time(steel/plastic/first rocket launch) so pause time do count. For Great Escape speedrun only cycles are counted and pauses won't affect the time.

Yes it needs to be charged first, then disconnected from power sources. And you need to at least leave a single tile of wire on itself, otherwise the station would think itself not usable even with the charge still full.

This is seeded (not random). We have both seeded and random seed category, and I usually runs seeded. I would admire if someone else runs a random and quick great escape though :)

Haha we are all scared of rocket at first! But once you are used to it it can be done much faster

Hehe. The space doesn't "actively" suck/drain your gas out. The gas just slowly diffuses out on its own, so a one-tile gap isn't really a big deal.... even in normal colonies, as long as your oxygen generation is stable. Also there's some hydrogen there initially that takes time to escape.

@@tabeyuriko7251 exactly! it intuitively feels like space should suck out the gas and depressurize your base, but within the logic of the game's gas mechanics it makes sense that it doesn't. just a weird feeling!

I wanted as much bionics as possible when I'm on the final stage of charging temporal tear opener. Because they can work 3-4 cycles non-stop and do not require an oxygen environment to survive or work properly. And since the pod does not necessarily always offer a bionic every print, I wanted to take every bionic I have as possible.
