Well another excellent video. Opened the fuse box this am. Wish I had seen this video first. 10 minutes wasted wondering why the fuses in the high tower are loose. Well at minus 20 and 30cm of snow it feels like a long time lol. Thanks again
Hey Dino, another GREAT video, especially for those new to JLs or those who never had to deal with fuses... THANKS! For us DIY-ers, I can tell you, we more or less learned about the fuse box on our own (some of us the harder way 😁) Few tips for all: - The spare fuses (as you pointed), do not have contacts below to plug to, therefore they are loose in the holder, so fuse holders have small tabs on top to keep them secured - easy way to find the spares... - The trunk/cargo power outlet has the fuse holder with 3 contacts, so choosing the position of one or another dictates if that power outlet is powered all the time (BATT - F43) or only when the ignition is on (IGN - F45) - If you do any soldering on your wires (i.e. adding the wire for extra USB plug charger to front power outlet/cig. lighter), pull out the fuse for that device (F52) before soldering, as live solder will blow up your fuse Cheers, Nash
Good video! Just popped my 20a fuse for the cigarette adapter and made the mistake of buying micro fuses and not the micro2. Ended up replacing the fuse with the heated seats one which is weird because mine doesn't have heated seats. 🤷🏻♂️ Didn't even think Jeep supplied spares which was cool to find out thanks to your video. Now I have to return the other ones and get the proper kit. Appreciate you tagging the Amazon link! Mahalo! 🤙🏼

I have the factory installed aux switches in my JL/ This video is great, but one discussing those aux would be cool. I have one go the unswitched if=gnition hooked to my air compressor in the rear. One of my switched wires goes too my dash cam. Switched is great because I can it to ignition - my normal use as its garaged, but I can easily set it to battery, for like parking at the mall. All through the radio settings panel. if the 6 wires in the body, the 4 switched ones are replicated under the hood - making adding extra lights, a winch etc very easy .

Hi CheaperJeeper, we really appreciate your videos. Could you please help us out? We are trying to figure out how to power our 12v aftermarket heated seats in our 2020 Wrangler Sport. They are two separate kits, one for the driver, one for the passenger. We are thinking of installing a single fuse tap with a 20amp fuse to the fuse #45 in the Wrangler fuse box, connected to 2x positive (2x) wires running all the way through the firewall, into the console area, where we can plug into our two heated seat kits positive terminals. We can then run the heated seat kit negative wires into the floor ground terminals bolts. Does this sound like a safe plan? Thank you
So I am not familiar with the #45 fuse but if it is a keyed power then that is safe. One single 12-14 gauge power wire will be plenty for both seats. Run the single power wire to one of the seat switches and then the other. The ground wire should go direct to battery ground. Running to a body ground will surely cause issues in the future. Depending on the power draw some of these appliances are better to be powered through a relay.
