Hammond: almost dying
Jeremy: WHO IS THAT CLIPPITY CLOPPITING ON MY BRIDGE!?
5:00
This is sooooo funny
The timing on that was PERFECT!
speeeeeeed
You know its bad if clarkson says speed is not the answer
facts
and when may says it is
"Some poos come out"
3:09
what next? Not everything can be fixed with a hammer?
The fact that these guys havent died doing one of these amazes me
Hammond had come close more than once
It shouldn't as there are very many people making sure it doesn't happen
u havnt seen Indian drivers and the roads.
It's all obviously assessed before doing it, I mean someone crossed the bridge first to film it 😂
@@stuartchrisp421 that doesnt mean hammond cant fall off
If this was a video game we would all be flooring it across that bridge for fun
WolfyGirl2077 there is a grand tour video game
Yeetdatshulker1 I only know of it from a guy who did a walk through and I can't remember his name
And that is why video games don't prepare you for real life
@@stuart8taylor shut up :D
There is a grand tour game, and this bridge is one of the hardest levels. I had Richard fall off so many times lol
I'm staggered that the show's insurance people allowed this filming.
what that should tell you is that the bridge is 1000x safer than they made it look lol.
@@B2Roland or they aint got insurance
@@B2Roland the signs saying bridge closed don't imply that. The metal frame is probably in reasonable shape and the deck logs looked to be installed recently, so no rot to worry about. The risk is in driver error since the way is very narrow and has no guard rails.
Jeff Bezos
@@B2Roland not with a giant pickup truck with monster truck wheels
When Jeremy was born he went straight into the wall saying “speeeed”
lol
fun fact he was born in 29 minutes
MWAHAHAHAHA LOL. Brilliant.
I prefer to think he yelled in a tiny infant voice POWAAHH!!! His mother fainting in shock while his father shed a tear being so proud.
powah!
I'm with James on this one. It's not the height I'm afraid of. It's the falling from said height, and dying that I'm afraid of.
personally it's the landing.
It's the G-forces that matter.
It’s not dying that scares me more. Surviving with bad injuries and being in immense pain would be worse.
Thats called being scared of heights.
It's not the falling that I'd be afraid of, is the suddenly becoming stationary
This sounds like a "today on bottom gear" thing
Laurienator tonoight, on botom gear.
I trap Hammond on a bridge
James gets bitten by a spider
And I laugh
@@michaelzhang7098 cement
That's when even Hammond get's grey hair ;-)
Haha
Yeah, so he started coloring them
Yes it will have to get some more dye for it this time
He uses Morgan’s hair products, remember?
May did independtly arbitrate: "It's NOT theeeeere"
James actually seemed genuinely afraid. I'm glad Jeremy didn't give him a hard time when it was his turn to cross.
It helps that James chose a reasonable car for the trip for once unlike Hammond who decided to bring a pick up truck converted (not very well) into a monster truck and he has no concept for anything that’s outside of Birmingham
1:50 you can see how these guys care for each other, Jeremy is about to say "it's alright James you could stay there" because he knew James is afraid of heights
Clarkson chooses the worst times imaginable to be intolerable. Especially when he's already overcome the scary challenge and everyone else still has to step up 🤣
At least he wasn't torturing James because he seemed genuinely afraid and Richard was already near the end so most of the work was already done.
This is the most accurate description of Clarkson I’ve ever heard
To be fair, Clarkson waited until Hammond had crossed the river.
5:07 “WHO IS THAT CLIPPITY-CLOPPING ACROSS MY BRIDGE!?”
Hammond revs engine in tunnel
“I had to do it, its the law”
He had no choice, it must be done!
"I don't think speeds the answer"
WHAT!!! WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH JEREMY CLARKSON?
Hammond's hands were actually shaking. Mine would have been, too!
''Volcanos are dangerous too'' 🙄
@@netweed09 what
I like how their idea of maintenance is placing a few wooden boards on the bridge - excellent infrastructure.
No money, no infrastructure.
@@Arcaryon Plus I very much doubt it gets a lot of traffic...
@@GryphLane that's why no money :)
@@GryphLane Actually it is crossed often, even by an old recycled School bus for public transportation twice a day. The locals recently started adding 4x8 sheets of metal over top of the wood decking. About 1/3 of it.
I know this because I just recently drove this very same route on a 1,000 road trip through the mountains of Colombia
James doesn't like heights, he's a pilot?
I don't like heights but I enjoy flying I dunno why people think that. You're safe in a plane
😶😐😑
Theres a difference between looking down from a bridge and a plane. It feels different in a plane you know you can glide.
@Henry Discipline that's at least rare and the difference between you can land safely and you need to be scraped off.the floor with many broken.bones is a huge psychological sh8ft
@@bigjohnson9606 You are much safer in a skyscraper than a plane mate.
I laughed at the part that Hammond is almost at the end of the bridge then Clarkson randomly said " Who Is That Clipity Clopiting Crossing My Bridge!? ".
The dislikes are from Jaguars that were following them and didn’t get spotted.
A spotted Jaaaaaag is no problem - it's those stripy tiger buggers that'll give you grief... 🐯
Hahahahaaa
WHO IS THAT CLIPPITY CLOPPITING ACROSS MY BRIDGE!?
I love Clarkson delivery with that British Accent
I wonder whether the camera crew had to cross that bridge 😂
They just use drones, so the send clackson first , so they can get some peace from the drone.
No, they obviously flew across because they have wings.
James is afraid of heights but is an active pilot 😂 I get it though, in a plane as a pilot you control things.
If you understand basic aerodynamics flying a plane has nothing to do with heights
@@benjaminclarke7984 exactly even without the engine on, you're still in a big glider
Been a fan since mid 2000's, and this was the most dangerous "crossing" I have ever seen these fellas do.
2:00 love the invisible cameraman they’re trynna joke about
Surprised the producers have only been punched once to be honest
Twice I believe.
what? when?
It was because there wasn’t ANY food as everything had closed when they got back from filming.
@WhatInTheF1 Most of the production staff actually left bbc & followed the trio to amazon.
@@korumann Not the guy who got punshed I assume.
James: Easy Mode
Jeremy: Medium Mode
Richard: Hard Mode
But seriously, crossing these bridges are the similar risk level of going to war
I would argue that May had medium mode because of his phobia of heights. Clarkson had it easy because of his sociopathic level of self-confidence
Jeremy: I don’t think speed is the answer
Me: I sense a disturbance in the force
I feel like Amazon is the least appropriate company to host these boys🤣🤣🤣
Yeah but the budget they give them is appropriate for these guys
Why?
it's times like these when one realises that the original jeep's size is actually fantastic
Indeed
For a few moments, I thought Jeremy was talking about the car brand Jaguar.
"I dont think speed's the answer" how the mighty have fallen
When he says that you know the situation is grim
This is my favorite TGT special because of how much Hammond reminds me of my father. A small, brown haired man, with an 90s GM truck. Though my dad’s truck wasn’t that eye sore Hammond was driving 😂
The only time Clarkson said speed wasn't the answer ! Lol
Honestly they should have picked the perfect car for every occasion

Jeremy measuring the width of that bridge while almost standing on the outer edge of the plank terrifies me.
Hammond : seriously questioning his life choices 😂😂
"Who is that clippity clipping across my bridge"
"I don't think speed is the answer."
*WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE REAL JEREMY CLARKSON?*
You know it's bad when Jeremy doesn't think speed is the answer
I think this is one of the very rare cases where not having a seatbelt would be safer because even if you survive a fall you're just going to drown with vehicle
It's weird how in very rare circumstances not following safety can actually save your life
If I'm going to fall hundreds of feet I'd rather land while in the car then while going face first into the rocks. That seat belt can come off later.
Don't worry. You would not drown, because your lungs would have crushed.
Unless the fall knocks you unconscious, or injures you in some way where you can’t get the belt off. I’m with the no seatbelt crowd on this one.
you would be able to bail out at the last second as well so the fall wouldnt affect you as much
@@dashthecat0 Well, see, now you're thinking in terms of Minecraft parkour damage.
The first time I’ve ever heard clarkson say “speed is not the answer” 😂
Jeremy - "I don't think power is the answer"
I have never, EVER heard Clarkson say that. That's how you know this is serious
If I were Hammond that might have been where I drew the line.
Grand tour outtakes. Seriously! I want to see that second and third bridge. If you guys want to keep releasing content despite Covid, give us extended cuts or outtakes. I'd happily watch a 1.30-2 hour extended episode or outtakes.
I recently did a road trip throughout Colombia and drove this very route and crossed these bridges, the one with the wood decking isn't quite as high as Jeremy and Richard was saying, about 40'. But the one with the rails perpendicular was twice as high. It was a fantastic road trip.
Jeremy: *talking about jaguars*
Also Jeremy: *Driving with his arm outside the window*
Thats the first ive heard jeremy ever say “speed isnt the answer”🤣🤣🤣
0:40 ohhhh they mean that kind of jaguar.
Legend says no life insurance company wants to deal with these three
My hands got sweaty just watching hammond
1:26 Given it's a disused railway line, my guess would be trains 😂
Doesn’t matter where you go on earth there’s always a road, bridge or railway built by the British
That bridge crossing would have been impossible for me. I have nightmares about driving on overpasses.
I love May's little off-roader dacia
That bridge could be used for animals trying to cross. People build bridges just for that reason over highways and rivers especially if the river is very rapid
They said it was an old railway
It was an old railway, and I think that bridge fell into such a state of disrepair it was deemed unsafe for travel
This Bridge is used Form Bungee jumping
Actually it is crossed often, even by an old recycled School bus for public transportation twice a day. The locals recently started adding 4x8 sheets of metal over top of the wood decking. About 1/3 of it.
I know this because I just recently drove this very same route on a 1,000 road trip through the mountains of Colombia
My theory is it is an actively used bridge, I don’t think they really have the money for bridges just for animals there and also wouldn’t explain all the roads in between the bridges. Animals also don’t tend to like to cross man made bridges like that, the ones for animals are often disguised. Anyway, my theory it is actively used by locals but they can’t afford to put in a safer nicer bridge so they put up those signs saying no one is allowed to use it because then if someone does get hurt they’re not liable for it but it’s not closed off because people still need to use it.

They poke fun at Hammonds ride. Buts he’s the most comfy person in the lot.
That OBS has lovely seat cushions!
Hammond is the luckiest man alive.

The Nolan sisters makes me wheeze each time😂
Flawless driving out there.
You could see just how scared hammond was, his radio antenna was shaking with his hand at the end
cuz clarkson once missed with OLIVER!
To cross such old and narrow bridge is really scary. It's scary just to watch. I have no idea what the guys felt crossing the bridge.
I recently drove through that same area crossing those bridges and believe it or not a repurposed School bus used for public transportation crosses that bridge twice a day. Best road trip of my life to date.
That OBS Chevy Silverado looks badass.

That bridge was wild 😳
Afraid of heights, have pilots license.
Reminds me of the 'lorry scene' in Sorceror (1977), which is set in Colombia. That scene is very intense!
I think we can all agree this was one of the most tense "Grand Tour" moments ever😬
Straight up, l couldn't walk across that bridge, even wearing a nappy😂
I was sick the whole time hammond was going across
