I am loving the new theme for the 15th Doctor so you can now enjoy a suite of all the tasters of his new theme that we got to enjoy in The Giggle!

As this seems to be a specific version of the theme, I wonder what it will sound like in The Church on Ruby Road and onward.

Murray Gold did a similar handoff from 10 to 11, going from Doctor Foever to some prototype I am The Doctory sounding music that turned into the theme we all know for 11 :)
@@djfizzy5674Don't you mean The Doctor's Theme (Series 4), which was incorporated into Vale Decem?
@@AndrewHsieh96 I did a second listen - definitely you are correct that at the end of 10’s run it’s The Doctor’s theme at the end of Vale December, amazing exploding tardis, and boom Matt Smith! This time around I would describe it as a snippet of The Doctor Forever transitioning in a similar way into fifteens theme. Let me know if I have that mixed up!
Thought Murray Gold was excellent for these specials! 15s Theme especially, looking forward to see how it's used in the future!
Its just so perfect isn't it? I mean we've got to be really honest here, Murray's return was much needed, and oh my word, hasn't he delivered? 😁
It wasn't really needed at all to be honest.
@@friendlyotaku9525 Well it was needed if we wanted a tune as compelling and charismatic as this one. Only Murry Gold or Ben Foster could have done such a good job

@@friendlyotaku9525 I didn't really like him very much. There were only a few themes from him that I even noticed when watching. Maybe that was his intention, to kind of blend in, but I think that Murrays music makes the episodes far more enjoyable, and I know many who felt the same
@@jonahvenables8917 Honestly Segun doesn't get the credit he deserves because of Gold, it's part of why I'm not thrilled that he's back (though not the only reason) as talented as he is, how are Doctor Who fans supposed to get used to something new and different?
Toymaker music was killer, as well.

I was sceptical about Murray Gold returning, but this banger alone made me realise how wrong I was.
@@Troiker His output from Series 6-10, with the exception of a few decent tracks, was fairly forgettable, if you ask me.

@@bradleywillard2361 It's no surprise to me Murray Gold was probably burned out by the time of series 10. I think like Russell he'll have had enough time away to have fresh inspiration. We got a lot of old stuff during the 60th but I think that's because it's an anniversary.
@@bethanyanne802 I agree. There were some repeated motifs, but the whole thing felt refreshed. You can tell that Murray has spent some time away, recharged his batteries and is now back with a vengeance. He’s also taken some inspiration from Segun, I feel, by being a little more subtle in places.
As always your unreleased stuff continues to be the best! Are you planning to continue with 'episodes of music' (I know they probably take a while)?
If people are interested then it's definitely a possibility :)

I liked Segun Akinola's themes and leitmotifs but Murray is impossible to top

this is the music for the Doctor, not the title sequence music. that's still the same.
...Dude, this is the Doctor's personal theme, like "A Good Man?", "I am the Doctor" or "The Doctor's Theme", not the opening theme tune.
