Imagine being the first person to see it. No warning, no notice, just.. bam. You go to look it up, only to discover you're literally the only person to see it so far.

I was overconfident in my engineered Krait Mk II, didn’t even put AX weapons on ,and was promptly swatted out of the void by a basilisk. Slapped on some gauss cannons, did marginally better. Solo is hard lmao
Encountered thargoid in space one time with my asp explorer, they just scanned me and left, I was terrified. It’s the first time I see jump malfunction like this!
My first encounter was when I had a piece of their technology in my cargo hold. The first time getting pulled out of warp scared the crap out of me. They scanned me, and then targeted me. I floored it out of there!
@@ytaky ok so I actually looked it up a little and it looks like hyperdictions mostly seem to happen in thargoid space, pleiades, witch head nebula etc...but the chance is greatly increased if you have a thargoid sensor in your hold, although this corrodes your ship slowly, as seen in this video. @@DebugOk there is, for the first time at least,, you just have to jump between thargoid inhabitated systems with anything thargoid related in cargo. It worked 4 times in a row with my mates.
@@Ziggyx121 Does the interceptor show up if you carry Thargoid cargo (does meta alloys count?) I got hyperdicted 2 times by what seems to be scouts (as there were 5 dots on HUD) with no cargo onboard, the experience was underwhelming, they didn't creep up in front of the ship to scan me, they just scanned me from behind, did Fdev changed the hyperdiction sequence somehow ?
75% of the time i get interdicted while carrying a thargoid cargo. Much more so if it's a heart. I got interdicted only three times WITHOUT a thargoid cargo in the whole 1500+ hrs i've played elite. So that's rng right there.
That is called a Thargoid Witchspace Interdiction, where a Thargoid Interceptor 'Intercepts' you during an FSD Jump, malfunctioning the module and dropping you in deep space. They tend to do this when you have the following, Thargoid Tech; "Sensors or Hearts", Guardian Tech and Meta Alloys. They also do this within certain systems, mainly Thargoid controlled. They can also use a shutdown surge wave to turn your ship's power off and disabling your modules, then they scan you with an unknown scan sequence. After this, your ship power returns and your modules power back on. As this is happening, the Thargoid vessel will either leave or attack you.
@@godreinmufasa Odyssey kinda ruined the game for me.. And FDev doesn't seem to want to fix it... so for me it isn't. Every time I get out of my ship and there's a flat screen in front of me. I'm done. It breaks immersion. Before Odyssey Elite was my favorite VR game.. and they just half-assed implemented VR in Odyssey. And I just refuse to play it like this and be annoyed every time I dock somewhere.

But I just get angry everytime I have to cross over flatscreen.. It ruins my immersion and I wish they wouldn't have done it at all... Not if it's going to be like this.
For a space game, Elite really has very good atmosphere.
It has its faults, but the sound design is one of the best around.

honestly, something like this should also happen when your FSD module is damaged to a certain extent! Would definitely make it more interesting imo..
Indeed. When your fsd is damaged to a certain extent, in should be unstable and have random drops

It's very polite of the thargoid to approach along your dorsal side so that you can get a good look up at it through your canopy.
They want to see those little flesh-sacks, on their own, they look so weird in these big chunks of metal.

Been jumping for years, went twice to BP, Sag.A and colonia, never been interdicted like this.. looks cool.

That's just a thargoid hyperdiction. Its pretty easy to replicate if you have UA's or UP's, you just need luck.
There is no proven way of replicating this, its all RNG

Huh? Picking up a Thargoid Sensor gives a permanent 20% chance to be hyperdicted in Thargoid infested areas.

Becouse it was changed years ago? 2 or so. 5 years ago it was scripted event, now it's no more so people can fight them instantly.

Space has no sound Soo with it used radio waves from the ship to comm or it has mind communication.
Your ship simulates sound for you to give the pilot more spatial awareness and so not go insane on completely silent journeys

This game is still very fun, odyssey just gives you the option to get out of your ship and admiring how big it is
