    I love Quince, it’s one of my favorite brands. I also shop at Banana Republic (not the Factory line), Theory, Lily Silk, Equipment, M.M. la Fleur and Sezane. There are a few UK brands I like too. I’m in the US and the tariffs charged when buying from overseas brands push the costs up. I can’t wear synthetic fabrics, even in blends, so I need to shop at brands that make 100% natural-fiber fabrics and materials (like genuine leather). This makes everything a lot more expensive than if I could shop at low-quality brands like H&M (which has great styles and prices, but inferior, plastic, fabrics). I bought a whole new wardrobe over the last year, shopping for each current season as they rolled around, for the best selection. I lost 50 lbs. over the last decade or so and just couldn’t put it off any longer, everything was falling off, even jackets. Fortunately, I could finally afford it, but naturally I didn’t want to spend more than I had to. So, Quince was my first stop. I think its balance of high-quality natural-fiber/material items, reasonable prices and big selection are just great. I have bought dozens of items there over the years, including silk, cashmere and leather and have been happy with all of them. The sizing is generous, I often size down one size, especially in tops and sweaters. Thanks for your review.

    I am very surprised on you saying that the silk feels cheap. I have the skirt and the dress and they both fall and look gorgeous and expensive. Got crazy compliments also from other people. It washed perfectly well. I also have the linen pants, they loosen as all linen does with wear, and never felt itchy or scratchy (I am extremely sensitive to fabrics and never had an issue). Most linen pants have only one layer of fabric (they are meant to be breathable), a slight sheerness is to be expected. I have the brown and never felt they’re too sheer. They mention European linen because it’s considered the highest quality linen. The one thing that does bother me is the elastic which moves around too much. As a general rule I have had veeery good experiences with what I bought from Quince.

    Thanks for the review! But I think this coverage would be more comprehensive if you showed their best sellers, which are their cashmere sweaters. Yes, I agree that their pants and linen items are just so-so, but their cashmere sweaters are great and feel the same as my J. Crew and other higher priced ones. And yes, to keep the prices down, they do lack original designs, but if you just want some basic and good quality items at a reasonable price, Quince is the brand for you! I have bought 6 cashmere sweaters, one silk shirt dress, one silk maxi skirt and a number of linen shorts and wide-leg pants, and they all have been great, especially the cashmere and silk pieces though I have to admit, the silk shirt you bought seems to be just okay. I bought their linen pants and shorts mainly because they are cheaper than other brands but still are of decent quality. Linen wrinkles easily and are thin anyway. I’d rather pay $30-$50 than over $80 elsewhere.

    • @Nextlevelwardrobe

    • @kathleenmcfarland9038
      @kathleenmcfarland9038 3 месяца назад +2

      Advice from Southern lady: after washing,place in dryer low heat 2-3 minutes, hang, smooth fabric with hands. After drying, touch up collar/hem if needed with iron. DO NOT IRON ENTIRE GARMENT. This will make fabric have deep wrinkles when you sit and as you move. Steam if you must, but linen is meant to have a rumpled appearance. Fabric softens and wrinkles less with additional washing. Linen improves with age-very comfortable.

    100% linen and 100% cotton shrinks. Why would you think otherwise? My understanding of Quince is that is a throwback to when you could find what they are offering at department stores when said stores carried natural fiber clothing. Its not really luxury its basic simple designs for every day wear. Basically targeting your average middle class consumer. If you shop around you can find items as good or better at the same price point. Their items are nice, but not special.

    • @KimberlyPerrotis
      @KimberlyPerrotis 3 месяца назад

      Cotton shrinks up to 15% if tumble-dried. Linen has minimal shrinkage, linen items might shrink a bit in length if tumble-dried, but they stretch back out.

I bought the pants and dress in this review, plus a tee and your assessment is spot on. The tee was not worth it. The dress and pants fit me fine but I think of them as replaceable, especially because they had a role in my outfit rotation. For wardrobe basics they did all right but my plan is to up the quality as I build back a professional wardrobe. I don’t regret my purchase, but I agree with your comments.

    I feel like the biggest selling point for quince is that the majority of the items are made from natural fibers which alone is worth it. I disagree with you, they are not fast fashion. Also, linen is supposed to be single layer like that to keep you cool. I’m surprised you come from a fashion background with your lack of knowledge on natural fibers and cut and style of clothes.

    • @Nextlevelwardrobe
