    I just made this tonight and it was amazing. The best rajma I have ever made. After pressure cooking I let it boil on low sauté mode for about an hour until the gravy was thick and creamy. Thank you for this great recipe!

    Hi Simran, loved your recipe. Today I made rajma for the first time and also inaugurated my new instant pot. Your recipe was very helpful. I had soaked my rajma overnight but still needed two rounds of 20 minutes (total 40 mins) in the pressure cooker. There was also a lot of water so once I took off the lid I cooked it for another 7-10 minutes to reduce the liquid. Thanks so much! Saving this and will use the same recipe next time!

    I really like the way you prepared the chhole masala.It's not overly spicy like most other recipes on you tube. You have made very judicious use of the masalas.I am sure that it tasted fab too.
    Coz I also prepare mine in almost the same way.
    But I will tweak my recipe now and add in a few more spices such as black salt and chaat masala that I haven't tried in this dish earlier.

    what to do if you are using canned beans?

    Which instant pot is better 3 quartz or 6 quartz for single person

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  10 месяцев назад

      It depends on your usage. 3 quart is good if you want to cook in small quantities. But if you want to do a lot of pot in pot cooking then a 6 quart has more space inside.

    I have presoaked rajma and I just want to cook rajma alone how Many minutes on high pressure ?I am new to instantpot I use high pressure setting not the manual I want to get the time right from your experience can you say how many minutes on high pressure for pre soaked Rajma

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  2 месяца назад

      For presoaked rajma you can pressure cook it for 12-14 minutes. It might slightly vary depending on the rajma.

      Just keep it on sauté mode for sometime, water will evaporate leaving behind a thick gravy.

  • @gnostie

    I have a question about the time for cooking rajma by itself, as I have a rice cooker. It wouldn't be right to just add 3 minutes to the 42 minutes, since in reality the food is cooking while the IP comes to pressure and releases pressure. So how long should I cook rajma by itself: 42 minutes plus ...how long? Thank you.

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  4 года назад

      To pressure cook without rice, I would do 45 minutes, for unsoaked rajma and then natural release. Sometimes it might take a little more/ less time to cook, which varies on the quality and kind of kidney beans you use. I hope that helps!

    What should I do if I want the Rajma to be thick, but have more gravy at the same time?

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  2 года назад

      You can increase the quantity of tomatoes and onion and make more Masala. More Masala in the gravy will make it thinker and let it simmer for more time.

    You shouldn’t sauté in olive oil - it’s not good at high heat. Ghee is actually very healthy and stable at high temperature
