  • I wanted cruise control on my Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport, so I got the next best thing. It's a $30 device called the Go Cruise 2, and it's so simple it's stupid. But it works, and it works pretty well at that!
    This video is NOT SPONSORED in any way.
    In this review I'll show you how it works, and we'll do a quick test ride and see if it's guaranteed death, or a nice bit of kit.
    Filmed on a my 2023 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport.

    Thanks for the review. Been down that very strip of road several times on my motorcycle. I enjoyed the flight traffic being that close.

    I have fitted this to my Vespa, it is very useful to shake out your throttle hand as we need to do from time to time! It will hold the current speed well, but it will not hold the rev's as cruise control's do! But a very good buy!! Buy the one with the rubber ring that goes on your throttle grip and put a bit of rubber on your brake lever or tape, so you don't have metal on metal!

    Loving these vids of yours, such a nice change from the boring ones (i want whatever your eating or drinking😂😂), I used the "Thumb" style one on a trip to Belgium with no issues after using a twisted knife (borowed) from the Hotel........it done the job. But as you say, it's in the head and you would wind off the throttle anyway in a situation..Keep em coming👍👍

    9:08 ... the 'camber' of the road will cause the drift to the outside of road.

    • @bugscooters
      @bugscooters  6 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed, it's just odd I hadn't noticed it before. Then again, I almost never used to take both hands off the handlebars... I should probably go back to that.

    • @Jonathan-L
      @Jonathan-L 6 месяцев назад

      @@bugscooters The other thing that camber of the road does, is wears the tire more on one side, hence it'll be due for replacement by the extra wear in only a small area of the tread. This doesn't happen to all bikes, but bigger road bikes (eg cruisers with wide front tires) it can happen.

    As for the wobbles @4:59, may be worth checking your rear tire pressure and wear bars. I know the large frames are a bit different but on my modern small frame I get a lot of wobble in the front end when my rear tires nearing the end of it's useful life.

    If you try the Super Glue throttle control, make sure you start your scooter on its center stand. I didn't and I'm sure my scooter is in Kansas by now!

    Interesting. I’ve never heard of one of these until watching this. I personally don’t see myself using one on my GTS but appreciate its use case.
    As far as the wobble goes, not sure if that’s a new occurrence but if you have some weight over the back end in your bag you might want to look into putting weighted bar ends on your handle bars. I did this when I installed my Givi top case. Ordered some black ones to match the trim from ScooterWest. Even with the top case empty it feels like a much smoother ride.
    Cheers. Love the funny videos as always.

    Gosh, bug., and here I'd almost forgotten what color your scoot is! (My 2024 GTS "Classico," Miss O'Day, is Beige Avvolgente, by the way -- in case YOU'D forgotten!) I used to commute from Van Nuys to Torrance, CA for a couple of years. Twenty-six fun-filled miles down the 405 FWY...an hour for the first 10 miles, 20 to 30 minutes for the last 16. Anyhoo, I'd "travel" with the same folks pretty much every day. There was NDLPNTR (her vanity plate), and yes, she drove with her knees while doing needlepoint for those first 10 miles (avg. speed about 5 mph). There was "beer can curler lady" who did, indeed, roll her hair in actual (empty?) beer cans. She would take her hair down, brush it out, then apply her makeup, all in those first 10 miles. My favorite was the guy who drove a Mustang convertible (with his knees) while practicing his clarinet. He could actually play. He weren't no Benny Goodman, but he was darn near pretty good. Gawd, I love Southern California!

      When I first started reading this, I assumed you were saying these people were driving scooters...
      Even so. This would make a GREAT video series... "Commutants!" I can just picture the lady doing needlepoint. And the guy with the clarinet? That's GOLD. Great story!

      I was driving on a freeway in San Diego once when I passed a guy driving and playing a guitar. As I passed him he saw me looking at him and looked back at me as if to say "What are you looking at?" I couldn't believe it. Maybe he was related to your "Benny Goodman" wannabe!

    I've got the same design throttle lock AND the O-Ring. The throttle lock stays in my top case most of the time. I do have hand guards though. It can be used with the handguards but as you throttle up/down, it keeps hitting the handguards, so I usually don't use it. If I remove the handguards, then I leave the throttle lock on. I love the O-Ring. But I can understand a rider not liking either one.
    I really was hurt that you made fun of me putting make-up on at 60 though. You pan cake folks just think you're so much better than us.....

    Hello my American scoot friend. Checking in from my home town of Victoria on Vancouver Island. You were kind enough to reply to one of my previous comments a month or two back. I have just one question that poses the risk of me sounding like a dad or cantankerous old man. When was it that grown men's wrists & grip strength became so weak that they now require a throttle mounted cruise control on motorcycles & scooters?
    Why, let me tell you buster; I've been riding motorcycles for most of my life (almost 50 yrs now) & have ridden long distance all over North America & have never once had or required a cruise control on my motorcycles. Of course I also walked up hill in 6 feet of snow for 12 miles both ways to & from school every single day of my childhood.
    I bought A Vespa GTS 300 a couple years ago but here on Vancouver Island, there are very few if any long straight stretches of highway that would justify such a thing. Perhaps if I made a trip to Alberta or Saskatchewan it may be something worth considering. Keep up the videos, they always put a smile on my old mug when I see a new one on RUclips. Cheers from the frigid north.

    • @bugscooters
      @bugscooters  6 месяцев назад +2

      I have a feeling that, much like my hearing, my wrists probably took a beating when I used to play drums.
      Could just be bad genes though. Most of my family was born with ankles where their wrists should be... It's rare. And completely made up. But I'm dying laughing just thinking about it.
      (Being I'm from Massachusetts, there actually was a time I walked up hill in about 6 feet of snow... Hated it. Two stars.)

      @gary344 6 месяцев назад

      @@bugscooters No problems. It will slip from time to time but a little tighter on the screw and/or add a bit of electrical tape. After all it's a throttle lock not a cruise control. Right ? Really enjoy your show. Be fun to get together for a cruise sometime.
