Amen on the cruise control for sure! I have had many bikes and this current bike is the first with cruise. I love it and use it all the time. Had this invention existed when I had my last bikes I would have grabbed it up right away! Going to share this with some friends who would benefit greatly👍🏼
I'm a harsh skeptic. But got it and just tried it. it goes on and works like it says. Although it wont set you in easily at a fine pin point speed every time and you do have to fiddle with it. Overall. I can see this working just fine on a straight long road where i just need to get relief off the throttle hand for a few miles. For the price. Seems like a very good deal.
Nice review mate - thanks for sharing. Mine arrived a while back, but I didn't get round to fitting it. Basically the same as yours, so your practical insights are useful - got a long trip tomorrow so needed a quick heads up to whether worth fitting before I set off. Looks like it is. Cheers.
I test rode the Kawasaki Vaquero 1700 a few weeks ago. It had cruise control, that feature is amazing. First time experiencing cruise control, it was awesome!! Great video!!👍🏿
My Mrs. has a "Cramp Buster" on her Street Bob. It's not a CC device, but it does solve the problem pretty darn well and in a safer manner than the clamp on device IMHO. It's cheap too :) Cheers!
Who would've known that a throttle lock could look so sexy?! That B Roll was on point! We notice the extra work your putting into your vids B. It 💯 shows! 💪💪 I also enjoy the humor a lot! Keep it coming!
The link below is to a product I purchased on Amazon for the same reasons. It is significantly more expensive, but it appears to be a better design. It works well on my 2011Triumph Speed Triple 1050.
I'm glad I happened across this video. I just bought a maxi scooter and there was one of these (a different brand) under the seat. I had no idea what it was for until now. LOL. It should come in even handier with a scooter (no clutch) which has excellent engine braking as mine does. You don't even have the option of taking your hand off the throttle for just a few seconds while clutching. Add to that I have carpal tunnel in my hands, so CC will help a lot. Ride safe!
The BrakeAway lock is still the better option IMO as it fully releases when the brake lever is pulled. But for $30 compared $190 this one is a good value
Thanks for a very informational video. I've been thinking of getting a throttle lock for my technological dinosaur KLR 650. Along ride on my bike is a killer on my throttle hand.
I fitted one of these to my FZ07. It was cheap and I have arthritis in my R hand, so...... After a couple of long rides, I'm not sure these things are safe. I have heated grips and this lock struggles to maintain a set speed, as it slips and I'm reluctant to reef it down as I could break the thin mylar heater. I was riding in torrential ran alone, turned on a bend, Stop light !. I got it unlocked in time, but it was quite frightening. Think I'll look for something else
Brandon, we need all hands of deck to change these companies from labeling and calling mechanical throttle locks Cruise Control.. Shame on all of them..
@@BrandonBicasso I not put on yet, but I will post video when I do. I just posted two rides on my channel using the phone since im still having issues with GoPro 7. Its a work in progress. Id like to get as good as you are. I really enjoy your videos.
I just picked up an '86 Suzuki Calvacade with 14000 miles on it. I had one similar back in 1990, but it was the deluxe version, with cruise and a great sound system. This one has a radio and 8 track, and not cruise. So I'm looking into what to use. I have a Breakaway on my 2001 Intruder, but that's expensive and comes with it's own problems. This might be something I try out. Thanks.
I've thought of checking these out for a while for my Harley but, I've been torn on this vs the Cruise-mate as the Cruise mate is permanently installed and doesn't stick out. It costs a little bit more but I think it would be worth it. I just cant get myself to buy either one yet LOL
Yo, I didnt even know these existed! I would do that sketchy thing where I reach across and hold the throttle with my left hand just to shake some feeling back into my right
I watched this video to figure out the basic mechanics of it. I've had it for a long time but never remembered to bring it along on a trip. Of course tje day you shot that, it looked to be a little warm... LoL it is ironic because I watching this video here on April 20th in Northern Ohio, where the temperature is currently 25° wind gusts from the north smacking me in the face at 10 to 15 miles per hour... Oh how I would love to be able to say! "DAMN ITS HOT!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 😢😢😢😢
I've used a cramp buster with no success because it just kept slipping. A little nervous about a mechanical throttle lock but if it's only like $30 that's not a lot of money lost on an experiment.
got one just please be careful which way up you mount it, as i found the friction screw stops you pulling the brake lever in fully...oh how i laughed...
Dagonne 2020 vmax does not have CC. Guess I don't wanna be on CC doing 120... but I want that option...lol. Octane doesnt have it either. Would be nice tho. I need to buy one... just to try it.

I haven't plugged a tire in years, lol. I had one on my first bike but I wasn't out in the road. Had a rubber tire plug that you stab into the tire. After I plugged it, added air and was good to go. It lasted that way for several thousand miles until the tire got bald in that spot and the plug shot out while out riding. I rode home on a flat 😂.

Fair point. But, my counter to that is cramps/pain could lead to accidents if you can't operate the motorcycle efficiently. Plus, cramps/pain takes my focus away from everything else. Kind of like migraines, etc.
So very true Brandon..but we all know there are people out there, that feels pain is pleasure. I am all for the pleasure and pain, and is really focused. The longest I rode was 12 hrs and enjoyed every bit of it, sore parts, and thirsty. Lol
To tell you the truth, I don't get it. I just get on the damned bike and ride it. Honestly I am amazed that I am riding a bike with a gas gauge. Now that's luxury.
Solid value for the money. Anyone that’s done any distance knows how good a little relief can boost morals and rider comfort

I really only use mine for about 2 minutes at a time if my right hand gets tingly, for 25 bucks it's a steal
Love my roadking with cruise control and i found the ebay knock off throttle lock for 8$ for my other bikes welllllll worth the money- great vid
Yep! So many options out there for it. Was lucky to be gifted the one I have. Has helped SO MUCH. Something so simple brings that much relief.
Best review for that kind of product on youtube. Thanks!

Thanks for the review
I just want this for my ebike so it can stay at a steady pace, saves me holding the throttle down for 60 minutes straight lmao

Also try a throttle assist...it allows you to operate the throttle or maintain throttle position without gripping the throttle.
Nice looking cruiser.

I have two bikes with cruise control and two that don't, on the two without I use a palm rest it take the pressure off having to grip the throttle.

Good job my brother !👍
Thanks Jay ❤️
Interesting, but after completing my own throttle-hold (NOT lock) anything else, including the kaoko, is crap.
Have a 2012 honda shadow aero but can not find any cruise control that fits it. Have got 3 different ones and they did not work?
Which throttle locks have you tried?
Just got one for my Yamaha Raider. Those hand cramps are a pain when getting yonder.
Good idea. They're all so compact that you forget it's there.
O good its out of stock during December
Does it affect ability to do emergency breaking?
It can if you don't roll the throttle forward first. I do this anyway before using my front brakes as should anyone riding.
top video on the tpoic

Brakeaway motorcycle cruise control throttle lock. It disengage when I pull the brake lever
