imo the ghost tractor is a perfect example here. his diecast color scheme, the eye, everything match what he look like in the episode.. Expect the mouth. For some reason he use the thailand racing tractor mold and it's has open mouth. but in the episode he didn't open his mouth like the diecast. i think if they try to go and make him have the accurate close mouth it would be a perfect item, but unfortunately, it fail terribly
I have a theory about Metallic Sally. Metallic Sally was Thailand’s ONLY Sally diecast to use the 2019 mold as a base. Because of how long Sally’s eyes are on her windshield, Thailand had troubles making an eyeplate look good on her. The metallic Sally, being their attempt at putting an eyeplate on her. I believe that due to how bad the diecast looked, Thailand switched to the old mold since it worked better with the eyeplate. I personally don’t get why they’d go this route, since there are Thailand diecasts that don’t use eyeplate(see Maddie McGear or Kori Turbowitz), but I still see this theory as making sense. Do with this information what you will
@@FivenightsatRays interesting theory, but I doubt it. If they thought it was so bad that they had to switch back to the old sally, they wouldn’t have released the metallic variant in its current form in the first place
I didn’t expect this to come out, but I’m happy it did because it’s a really good video! I think another car that could be here is M fast fong, on his diecast he has an inaccurate green, in the movie it’s actually kinda metallic but on his diecast it’s snot green. Also he’s supposed to have no number on his roof but instead he does (which is actually like more)
Leroy with snow tires looked so weird to me when it got released from thailand, I've had the original china one since it came out, but I was excited for its return since I kinda wanted a replacement (the mirrors on mine broke off lol) but when I realized that they dropped the unique expression it was very disappointing. Tho I just realized now that the expression is recycled from the normal leroy which is such a weird choice, and how they also gave him the color of the normal leroy kinda made him much less accurate aswell
Danny Swervez looked great but they they bothced his color instead of purple to dark blue,It still bothers me How it was this close and yet they for whatever reason chose the wrong color.
Great video, dude. A lot of these instances frustrated me, too. Will Rusch would definitely be an example of this for me. Jim's issue for me, like you said, has always been how the green felt a smidge too dark, along with the metallic paint being too samey especially on the hood. Also, if you compare him to other characters, the whites of his eyes have this weird sepia look to them, like he's been in the sun too long. Oh, and need I say anything about Roadette? LOL
@@ttoyreviewsty Certaintly. Also, the problem with Will for me is the color choice. In the movie, Will is this super vibrant, bright purple that can be seen from a mile away, even in the big crowd shots of all the racers, along with his bright yellow similar to that of Eric or Richie's. His diecast however has this dark purple color that makes him almost blend with the other next gens, so much so that Danny Swervez is brighter than him. And the yellow is replaced with gold that can look nice, but like the silver on Jim's hood, it blends in with the rest of the body from certain angles, which wouldn't have happened if they used the normal bright yellow.
This was a nice ten car list Ty, I agree with Kori the most, it's really weird they just, never attempted to add mirrors onto her, and also she's a bit too skinny and long. I think for me a car I was surprised you chose not to put were the Freds that tried to capture the falling bumper, since in concept it's a really cool idea, issue being they didn't follow through on the "Fallen." part, I really think if they had done him now, he would be an amazing release. Ironically I'd also add on Lightning McQueen with sign was a really great idea, being based on a funny gag from cars 1, but the fact he is just a standard mcqueen diecasts kinda drags him down because it's just, McQueen with a plastic accessory, it does mean you get a little more for basically free but at the cost of the McQueen not really matching the scene. I also kinda wanna see and inverse for cars that were missed potential specifically, I know in the worst diecasts video you mentioned a few missed potential but I mean like a car that had a good idea but completely fumbled, like Randy which I mostly just feel bad for the fact people judged him by stock images when he looks a little different in person, like everyone kept saying he was the wrong color, including you when you put him on the list, but in person he is closer to the right color, and he has decent dirt decals. Great vid Ty, sorry for the bog of a comment I just had much to say, great vid as always man.
One other car I think has a pretty bad face (there are more, I just forgot about them and may mention them later) is Jet Robinson. Great release, but his face is really bad. His artwork has a great face, really wish they used that, but even his prototype had a decent face. I also hate all new Ramones, since I hate the fact that their mouths are white now. They look better without it, fight me
@@JordaneseTyphoon-jk6fr I was going to talk about Fred with fallen bumper, but that car has too many problems for it to fit on this list lol. This list is for items that were almost great, that's an item that's just bad lol
True. I also was disappointed by Patti, who I got about a month ago now. The diecast was a much less saturated green compared to the artwork, although I honestly forgot which one is movie accurate

We were on the verge of greatness we were this close.
Also I never noticed that the eye plate is smaller on metallic Sally.
