    I don't get why theres so much hate on the v6 (SXT), and always seems to be the R/T guys talking the most shit. Living and working in LA/OC I feel like I see the SXT owners ripping their car down the freeway more than the R/Ts. Even being a v6 those things can get up and move. This build is sick, every man to his own. Respect to all MOPAR!

    • @TheDutchTexan
      @TheDutchTexan  5 лет назад +54

      R/T guys, especially stock, should not be talking smack at all. My 05 GT vs a R/T (any year) is a drivers race, and that IMHO is a major shortcoming on the 5.7's. Admittedly they do look better though!
      In the end you can have your favorites, I surely have. But you won't be catching me talking smack about someones ride. That's just not done. Respect the build.

      Sorry but ur wrong lol. The 1st "hemi" in the challenger had way more than 305 hp lol.
      If ur talking about the 60's challenger it would have had the 426 ci hemi first rated(underrated) at 425 hp.
      If ur talking about the challeger in the 2000's...the "Semi hemi" that powered that car was a 345 ci that had 340 hp.

      You're thinking of the 354 Hemi which was Dodge/Chrysler's first OHV engine. They skipped the wedge design and went straight to the Hemi lol. Still, those Hemis didn't have shit for a cam. We just got done porting our 354 (bored to 6.0L) Hemi. Put a bigger cam in it with racing valve springs, headers, intake, and FiTech Fuel injection. It'll do a little over 400whp I'm sure. 🙄 I have a custom painted Plum Crazy '16 V6 Challenger and I love this. The amount of hate is crazy. My friend owns a performance shop and has an '06 Mustang GT that smokes Lamborghinis, Hellcats, etc. He's the one who put me on to Ripp Superchargers because of me having a V6. People love to hate on it but don't realize that the 3.6 Pentastar has been around forever and is used in so many things that it can be reliably modded (Chrysler 300, Charger, Wrangler, Challenger, etc). Especially in the Charger and Challenger because of them having the Torqueflite transmission which is actually borrowed from the BMW 7 Series' ZF transmission and can handle 500 horsepower reliably. To get 400 + horsepower to the wheels is pretty impressive for one mod and tuning. The only thing you are messing with is your warranty, but if we're throwing a supercharger on our cars, we obviously don't care. Nice video man 👌

    There's a big reason for a boosted V6: MPG. The V8's 13 MPG city rating is too painful for my wallet.

    • @Sak-zo1ui
      @Sak-zo1ui 4 года назад

      I get 26 in my rt on the highway and i can get 20 in the city. It is how you drive it. Also the reason you get the so called 30 mpg is because you straining the engine. It is waiting for the boost to engage. Boost allows you to run a low profile cam and low compression and let the boost compensate. Here the engine is barely running unless its in boost. Lean is mean and kills machines.

    Just got my 2018 Dodge Challenger sxt . Waiting for the ripp super chargers to come out for the 2018 model . But team spankin time is charging me 5k for the supercharger. I bought my sxt v6 for 29$ at the dealer and putting 5k under the hood . They told me I’ll be pushing over 400 hp . Which are numbers kind of what the srt is pushing . Only difference is the srt is 50k and I’m supercharging my v6 that will keep up with an srt for just 5k . And my gas mileage won’t be as bad as an srt . So this guy has a point . Your challengers badass btw keep up the good videos !!!

    Great video, but I'm not sold. I have an 18 GT AWD that came stock with 309 hp in an AWD. I live up north where we can get a lot of snow. This thing doesn't even notice it. I ordered this car new from the factory. The AWD would have taken back seat to the Hemi, but with 309 hp already, the AWD was more important and I've never regretted it. There's only a 60 hp difference between the R/T to begin with. The AWD won't allow it to do a burn out no matter what. But 309 hp is plenty for any car. Hell, a 454 big block V-8 only put out 260 hp. A 396 big block only put out 240. My first car was a 67 Olds 442, it had 350 hp and this Charger will eat it's lunch. And the 442 was never beat in a street drag. It was really fast, but it had an iron block that was really heavy. All the cars were heavy at the time. It was a 400 and they had to beef up the Cutlass front end of the car just to hold it up. While it was busy spinning it's tires, this Charger would be long gone, already in 4th to be exact. That car weighed 4,600 lbs and the Charger weighs 4,200. The 442 got 7 mpg, no matter what. My GT gets 22 mpg a tank average, no matter how I drive it. The 8 speed automatic on the Charger is truly an amazing transmission which will blow up with this supercharger. And I know one guy who blew his rear end with it. Both costly fixes. As much as I'd love to add it, I'm not chancing it. I did add a K&N intake system on it and it makes it breath easier and that's noticeable. It also makes it sound a lot throatier; like a giant 4-barrel with the air cleaner top flipped over. A good sound, but I'm not adding an exhaust that will buzz my brain. So far, all the ones I've seen, do. NO WAY. And with 2 more years of warranty on the drive train, I'm not going to fix what isn't broke. My GT has plenty of power and will blow off most anything out there. More than enough to get you into a lot of trouble. I really enjoy the Audi's. LOL I would recommend the K&N intake kit first. They say it's good for up to 30 hp, and send you the dyno sheet on it with the kit. It's under 300 dollars at K&N. If it does add 30, than there's only 30 hp separating this from the R/T. I don't know what engine they have, but I did beat a police interceptor with this car. It could have been me though. I had it in sport mode and did a 2,700 RPM launch with it. I don't think interceptors have a sport mode, or a launch mode. And probably have higher rear end gears for more top speed.

      The Dutch Texan how much was it to get the supercharger and have it installed?

      It’s a RIPP supercharger. Factor the price of the unit and the cost of install. I do not know the exact cost as I reviewed the car. Check out 86face on RUclips, he is the owner!

      I doubt the AWD system would be up for that big of a power bump!

    I would have left the appearance of a v6, but nice build anyways

    I love my hellcat but a supercharged v6 pentastar 300 sounds fun too

    Sounds and look good 👍🏽 I’ve been looking at a lot of RT chargers and challengers but I’ve been leaning towards a SXT charger/challenger or LT Camaro
