Don’t throw away dried out foam clay!!! I was working with half of a container when I was suddenly called away & didn’t have time to put it back in the container. When I was able to get back to my project, a few days later, the foam clay had completely dried out. I cut it up into pieces to put back into the container, I poured in 1/8 cup of DISTILLED WATER, after a few days I checked it… It had softened, but needed a little more distilled water to make it pliable, worked out great! I did have to knead it well though
You prolly dont care but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Cohen Jadiel i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
One thing I just noticed is that foam clay can also be used for light sfx prosthetics, like demon horns or a mask that you'd naturally stick to the face. Liquid latex literally peals off it without disturbing the foam clay once it is dry. It's AMAZING! Using liquid or cream pros-aide also works to stick this to the face, and it doesn't damage the foam! It peels right off when you want to remove them. So this stuff is very universal! 10/10
I've started using foam clay for my first cosplay build and it is a lifesaver for making natural-looking textures and getting shaping right. I'd be lost without it.
I discovered foam clay through your books and boy has it been a lifesaver! My friend recently commissioned me to make her a dagger the entire hilt is hand sculpted by me with foam clay. So much easier than the alternative of sanding everything into shape!
She has a display fo everything you need for basic cosplay materials at michaels in Florida! I’m not sure about other places but huge clutch because I was there to get supplies for a cosplay I’m working on now!
At just one? Or multiple? I live near Wesley Chapel, and the Michael's near me actually closed and moved a while back... :( I never make the ride out there anymore because I have Hobby Lobby a few blocks away. But if Michael's has a Kamui section... I'll definitely make the ride! With my biggest backpack and tailbag lol (Typically riding a motorcycle stops me from buying too much stuff! ;D I can only carry so much.. but I go nuts at craft stores. Haha)
I'm currently making a snake mask with scales sculpted out of foam clay and this video really gave me some insight in how to continue with the project. I had problems with the foam clay scales cracking and tearing while test-fitting the mask but your video gave me confidence that i can prevent this with the right sealant! Thank you ^^
A fantastic intro to how these materials are actually used, THANK YOU!!!!! So many GREAT videos - the LED-intro (most people like me wonder for days in Amazon, trying to find the needed parts and technology), the smoker-intro (I know the big smoke units and use one in our Halloween party every year for low-lying smoke on the floor, but never knew about these smaller portable ones) and so many, many more!
That was amazing as always, Miss Svetlana! Your passion for your art is incredible. Thank you for sharing this with us. Now I am super excited to find a project to sculpt with foam clay!
Thank you so much! I'd been rather depressed looking for a good idea for a Renaissance Faire costume and I believe, with what I've learned about foam clay and eva foam thanks to your channel, I could create a living statue costume!
Hello, I am a follower of yours from Spain, I just wanted to thank you for how well you explain everything, thanks to you I have been able to do my first projects and gradually raising their level (which is not easy). I want to thank you for your free links to acquire many patterns. I have been hooked by all the star wars and I have been able to fulfill my dream and that of my son, making our own costumes. Thank you both for your channel. You are incredible creators
I super love using foam clay. I have used it on making props and accessories when polymer clay was a huge hobby trend here. It's still hard to get here in the Philippines and I hope that it gets more attention and demand so it would be easier to purchase. Thank you for doing this video Svetlana!
I’ve never built any cosplay, I’ve never worn any cosplay and I don’t really know any of the characters you build cosplay of! HOWEVER I’m here because the two of you are such amazing bundles of happy and fun energy that I can’t not watch you bring to life your amazing creations!
I don't often comment on videos but you not only deserve compliments but also an instant subscribe. You're awesome! Great craftsmanship, great explaining, great woman, great video quality. Absolut a fan now.
Foam clay is absolutely wonderful thing, I especially like how it can cover up any mistakes I do while cutting or dremmeling the foam. And now I see even more potential in it, thank you :D
This was so useful! I have never worked with foam clay before until the other day and usually I just open new crafts and feel around for it until I understand how the material works and the foam clay really confused my brain! It's just a texture I'd never worked with. And today I'd planned to do tiny little things with it, so I'm thinking I might make tiny 'beads' and then once dry sculpt them into a pumpkin shape! I'm going to have another go now I actually understand how it works, thank you for this very helpful demo of all that you can do with it!
Thank you so much❤️❤️❤️ You’re changing my life and I love everything you teach! Thank you for sharing something helps people be free to express themselves!
Hey I was walking through Michel's (a craft store) and I saw a display with eva foam. So I look up and there you are armored and looking good. That was pretty cool. Just had to say that. Your awsome!
Some big congratulations the imagination and skill to reproduce the outfits and costumes to the intricate level that you make them is excellent and worthy of the highest praise. 😎🇦🇺🥳🥳🥳🥳👍
Im not even a cosplayer but I'm just so facinated how Kamui brings things to life. What a brilliant artist. I follow on FB, but didn't know there was a RUclips account :))
Coming from the future 👋 I absolutely love foam clay. I bought it on sale at Michael's for only $5 and the brand is by ArtMinds "Modeling Foam." Great to know it lasts a long time! I put mine into a thicker plastic bag and then returned it to the bucket. Used it for a project where I needed to make a staff look like tree bark. My staff is about to be primed, but it looks pretty convincing thanks to the foam-bark texture 😊
That kind of smooth foam clay is called "Silk clay" in Sweden, the "foam clay" version is made of tiny beads and a tar like goo. Works exactly the same, but has a very visible texture, of course. Might want to make sure you buy the right kind of clay :)
Hi there. Great video as always. I just miss your puppies! I love your dogs. Thank you for showing us this it was truly inspiring. Take care and God bless.
I've had foam clay for a long time, but I had no idea it was THIS easy to use! I didn't know about shaping it with water to make it smooth or that it was easy to sand or that it would stick to EVA foam so well. This is a huge help for my crafting repertoire, thank you! EDIT: I've had Model Magic, which I am learning is not the same thing. Similar, but not as durable. Looks like I'm going to upgrade to foam clay because that stuff is amazing!
Its amazing what you can probably do with this product... I think one is only limited by ones imagination. Thanks for sharing your cool tips with us here in RUclips... And I greatly appreciate that it's in English since mein deutsch ist nicht so gut
This video was VERY INSPIRING !!! I have been looking for a product like this for years . The sky is the limit now . Thank you so much and have an awesome day
That is amazing. I would love to learn how to make 3 d patterns to make stuff from foam. This is so amazing. I never knew you could even sculpt with foam. Thank you for your video.
Where did you get those super cool foam molds? I've found some cool ones, but nothing with such a wide selection and a large piece. Most of them are one or two different designs.
Remote control flying quad copters can be used for cosplay flying creatures and character devices . I built a lightweight orange foam gargoyle lizard covering with the quadcopter motors portruding from the top not very noticeable. I used thin clear packing tape to prevent it from breaking when bent or twisting .
Thank you as always for sharing your amazing skills. And for the links. We dont get these things in South Africa so thanks to you I now know where to order it. You inspire me!!
I stumbled on to your stuff pretty randomly and after a few videos I realized this woman (Svetlana apparently ) is doing a bit for their series , shes actually probably not as fluffy as she pretends to be . Well I hope ( lol ) I forget which video showed a moment of dept and clarity but one did let it slip . Either way very entertaining and fun . I wish you the best .
Question: Using foam clay with something like the size and detail of the shield in the video. Would you still seal it in flexibond or use some other sealant? If you do use flexibond, how do you prevent the flexibond from filling in all those details?
Don’t throw away dried out foam clay!!! I was working with half of a container when I was suddenly called away & didn’t have time to put it back in the container. ohhhh thx for explaning :3
Oooh!! Thank you! I'm not broke anymore, but i def still have stingy habits 😂❤❤
Very helpful advice! Although I already threw out small dries bits of it. But thanks to your comment I know now! lol
Fantastic tip, thank you
''I BRING ZIE DARKNESS!' no Svetlana, you bring the light and happyness with your energy and awesome videos !!
@Gerald Spessard Imagine thinking that's some kind of putdown. Lol
You prolly dont care but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Legend Mitchell instablaster :)
@Cohen Jadiel i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Cohen Jadiel it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D

how did yo attach the foam pieces if you don't mind me asking?
Thats very helpful because i was thinking of doing that, just not sure it would work until I read this!
I've started using foam clay for my first cosplay build and it is a lifesaver for making natural-looking textures and getting shaping right. I'd be lost without it.
5:40 " I think the result turned out pretty nice." No the result turned out very awesome!
i absolutely love her. she is always so happy! this always makes me laugh, thank you
I am glad they put- ''DO NOT CONSUME OR EAT THE FOAM CLAY ''on the lid as I really wasn't sure !
I mean, it’s just like a marshmallow once it’s dry. 😂
I discovered foam clay through your books and boy has it been a lifesaver! My friend recently commissioned me to make her a dagger the entire hilt is hand sculpted by me with foam clay. So much easier than the alternative of sanding everything into shape!

Nope most of the stuff I need I will have to buy online,a frw things from Michaels or Joanna.
At just one? Or multiple?

i actually ended up on this video because i bought a bucket of foam clay and eva foam at Michaels in Fl.
Yeah I just found a display at Michael's but they didn't have the books 😭
I'm looking forward to see how you guys paint that huge Diablo head and to see it attached to the rest of the costume, this is gonna be AWESOME
It will be interesting to figure out haha

Yes use some Flexbond

thank you, brushing water before applying the clay was a game changer for me!

I would love to watch a time-lapse of your sculpting process! I feel like I learn a lot simply by watching others sculpt.

You know what's annoying? How your process looks hack, but you finished product is chef's kiss. I wish i had that talent 😅❤❤

wishing you the best on your tutorials! Thanks so much! All the best from Distortions Unlimited
Hi Ed! Her work is amazing!
I'm not into cosplay, but this is definitely a material that I can add to my arsenal! You are so cheerful.
Wow this is the first video that has ever made me want to even think about cosplaying with something other than leather and metal!
Already one of the most helpful and informative videos I've watched this year! Thank you!
I’m using it for the first time this was very helpful! It’s so versatile, I’m definitely going to use it for lightweight details on cosplays :)
Im not even a cosplayer but I'm just so facinated how Kamui brings things to life. What a brilliant artist. I follow on FB, but didn't know there was a RUclips account :))
i'm glad foam clay is finally getting the attention it deserve, been trying to tell people about it for 10 years, I love that shit!
I was waiting... WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEO!!! Thanks Svetlana😊😊😊
Been considering using foam clay for a while now. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I think it is the best tutorial I've seen!
Oh Mann ich brauche das in meinem Leben! I’m insufferably impatient with materializing ideas. This medium bridges the gap.
Coming from the future 👋 I absolutely love foam clay. I bought it on sale at Michael's for only $5 and the brand is by ArtMinds "Modeling Foam." Great to know it lasts a long time! Awesome, I recently bought some foam clay and this is exactly what I needed, love this channel
This is very cool ! I’ve been working with Crayola Model Magic for a few years now, but I think I’ll try this material too !

This was helpful. I recently purchased foam clay but didn't know how to properly use it thank you!! 💚

Where did you get those super cool foam molds? I've found some cool ones, but nothing with such a wide selection and a large piece. Most of them are one or two different designs.

Wow...I am mesmerised...I want some foam clay!!!!
I can't thank you enough for being an inspirational figure
If conventions return by the end of the year, it great see you this costume.
Inspiring energy and attitude.
Such perfect timing i just received my order of foam clay!!!
You put so much time and effort into your work, it really is inspiring! Thanks for these videos :)
The silicone mold hack tho... is something so simple and yet I never thought about!!! 😮
Okay; that was way cool ! I just subscribed. Please, make more instructional videos on methods for working with foam and foam clay.
Thank you as always for sharing your amazing skills. And for the links. We dont get these things in South Africa so thanks to you I now know where to order it. You inspire me!!
You are the foamclay Master. Cool Video.
That stuff is awesome! I’ve never tried it, but it looks like the possibilities are limitless !!
You really got Blizzcon 2020/2021 in the bag with this one. Thank you for the tutorial!
Can this be used to make a model for a silicone mold, or be used directly with epoxy resin?
your work is truly amazing and so inspirational ....
Great material and great job 👏👏👏👏👌
Just used foam clay for the first time, thought you should know❤❤
I love her energy
Wonder if dry time will be faster if you lay the sculpture on cookie cooking racks?
I stumbled on to your stuff pretty randomly and after a few videos I realized this woman (Svetlana apparently ) is doing a bit for their series , shes actually probably not as fluffy as she pretends to be . Well I hope ( lol ) I forget which video showed a moment of dept and clarity but one did let it slip . Either way very entertaining and fun . I wish you the best .
About a year ago I bought some foam clay now I am super excited to try it out!
I never knew there was such a material! I'm getting some, just for fun.
That mask in the video is awesome incredible work.
Question: Using foam clay with something like the size and detail of the shield in the video. Would you still seal it in flexibond or use some other sealant? If you do use flexibond, how do you prevent the flexibond from filling in all those details?
Maybe go over the build with an air gun/empty airbrush or something to blow in the flexbond over the holes?
I’m 12 years old and I’m going to do a Doomslayer cosplay,I’m gonna praise you like a god fr😭😭😭
