Wow, didn't realize what a huge amount of work it is just removing the harness. Never mind modifying or installing a custom one. Thank you for this video!
An invaluable video. I went step by step with you and it all made sense. If you are going to pull the bulkhead harness, this is the way to do it! Take your laptop in the car and follow along. Thank you so much!
Greetings friends, thanks to you I started and I am finishing my subaru project, thank you I spent hours and days .. watching the videos again and again thanks friends ..
Not sure if this comment section is still monitored but I have a couple of questions. I am going through the process of replacing my automatic bulkhead harness with a matching (00 RS) manual harness. I'm just replacing the bulkhead (doing a transmission swap but nothing with the engine). Do I have to drain the cooling system in order to remove the white AC box, and do I need to discharge the AC system in order to remove cabin filter box?
The ECU can easily be accessed without removing the dash. Just peel back the carpet on the passenger's side footwell and take the metal plate off that covers it.
Great video guys! I need to replace a leaking heater core, is there a way to cheat removing and installing a new one without removing the upper dash? Or I've gotta remove the whole thing to get to it? Thanks!
Is there a way to disconnect it from the wiring going under the passenger and driver side trim and behind each seat belt? Taking apart an 06 Impreza wagon and it looks like I’m going have to get into both seat belts and unplug.
I currently have a 1997 Impreza Coupe with a 1.8L engine… I am picking up a 2005 WRX with an EJ205 turbo engine. Is this a good swap if I have the full car at my disposal? Can I strip the WRX and swap it all into the 97 Impreza relatively simple? What should I look out for?
How do you disconnect the ABS Module that's connect to the whole harness that's in the engine. It's connected with the lights, side marker and horns to as well.
I have a 2013 Subaru Impreza Sport that has a bad bulk head wire according to the dealer. Is it safe to replace it with a used version from a salvaged car or modify it with an upgrade?
This is a great video, thanks for posting. How long did the removal take you guys, and how long would you expect it to take a hobbyist removing a bulkhead harness at a salvage yard?
We don't have one specific for the GD but the process is basically the same. Remove the interior bit, then the dash bar, then the boxes. Finally unplug the harness :)

You will have to drain the coolant and the discharge the AC system because both of the boxes that contain those fluids must come out.

Unfortunately, to get to the heater core, you must remove the entire dash and the dash bar.
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 thank you for the clarification, much appreciated!
Thank you so much for this video
I am doing this set up soon thanks for the videos
My car looks like yours 😁😁
Currently needing to repair the driver side blend door actuator. Almost have the dash off.
It sucks sooooo bad. I am not a mechanic 😔

GD models have to remove the front seats and access the B pillar for the doors to reach the connection between the bulkhead and front harnesses.
Getting nightmares from seeing all those wires. Don't know how you do it.

Let's chat specifics via email - info@iwireusa.com :)

Great question, it took us about an hour but we've done it a few times. I would say about 2 hours for a hobbyist.
Do y'all have a video doing this on a GD? How different are the 1st gen and 2nd gen as far as harness removal?
We don't have one specific for the GD but the process is basically the same. Remove the interior bit, then the dash bar, then the boxes. Finally unplug the harness :)
Hy i did mixed up the wiring socked for camshaft and injector both use 2 pins any help wih a diagram subaru 2.0

The gauge cluster has 4 plugs on the harness side the 2 bigger ones and one goes to the fourway switch i can't find where the other one goes.
Our install video would better answer this question - ruclips.net/video/UnU2nsvWyAg/видео.html&ab_channel=iWireSubaruWiringSolutions
How long did this entire job take you?
Great question, it took us about an hour but we've done it a few times. I would say about 2 hours for a hobbyist.
this was like the only good reference but i still got caught up a few times. Doesn't help previous owner messed with a lot of the wiring
can this apply in subaru legacy as well?
Yes, this would apply to all Subarus
So what causes the harness to go bad
Age, elements, rodents!
Are there any extra bolts holding down the upper dash on an 02 forester? Followed step by step and it seems like the upper dash doesn't want to budge
Should be pretty much identical as far as I know. If it's not coming out easily though, keep looking for more bolts.
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 on the hunt! Lol. Are there any close to the windsheild?
@@DanielGarcia-xb1uw Yes there are 2 under the trim piece.
