A question I had on my mind is are there times where I shouldn't use a protective style? Since for me I commonly take my braids out once every 3-4 weeks. Do an in-depth wash routine and then get it braided again the next day. Should I let my hair breathe outside of a style for a week or two every once and a while or am I fine?

yes you should the constant tension on your scalp/hairline could lead to traction alopecia. Just wanna give your scalp a break from the tension
