Memories of American Steam

1955-2021
There isn't a sight quite like the steam locomotive. From the humble beginnings in the 19th century to the bitter end in the 60s steam ruled across America with many famous designs being built such as the PRR J1s, NYC Hudsons, WM Potomacs, etc. Sadly very few steam locomotives survive today with most being on static display while others being wiped from existence. While we can somewhat relive the steam age from our simulators not may people got to truly experience the glory days of steam themselves but we can definetly appreciate what they did for us back then and what their legacies led up to.

When I was younger I loved trains especially steam engines, all the moving parts made it seem as it was a living giant. Now that I'm 21 years old I still have a soft spot in my heart for these rolling pieces of art. I hope everything is well after the passing of your uncle. You've got the best supporters one could ever ask for, keep your spirits up.
yes...yes he dose
😍😍😍This is the Golden Age of Steam in America. 😍😍😍
We never forget this beautiful machines from the past.
Long Live The Steam Power! 😊😊😊😊
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Very nice. While I enjoy all sorts of trains, there's a special place in my heart for the majesty and grandeur of steam locomotives. Additionally, my condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
I'm the same way, especially about the NKP berkshires
i think theres a place in all of are hearts for these living giants...im sorry for your lost but you have us where your family
Amen to that.
Same here, I don't care about modern trains because steam locomotives was for a certain time in our history was the only thing they had.
@@CrossOfBayonne Quite true. Steam locomotives seem to invoke the romance of times gone by, and I'm reminded of O. Winston Link's statement that diesel/electric locomotives look the same whether they're sitting in the station or traveling down the line. Only with steam locomotives do you get to see the smoke and steam, the numerous parts in motion, and hear all the noise as it moves.
I've never been into trains all that much but my Grandad was. He used to love them and took me across England to see different locomotives and museums. One of my favourite memories is waiting for I believe the Mallard to stop in our station for a booked trip when due to a mistaken schedule it thundered through the station at speed. Good times...
I absolutely love steam engines and locomotives. They were the birth of the railroad and the kings and queens of the rails for over a century. They're more than just machines. They're like living beasts. They hiss, rumble, and roar. Pounding pistons and spinning wheels get my heart racing with excitement. They may be obsolete today, but many, many people still have a heart for these beauties of the past. Long live steam power! 🚂
Especially the Blue Comet seen later in the video, 833 was one of the Pacific's and she was used up into the 1940s and 50s
Very nice Thunder. Your uncle was very nice to you getting your first vehicle.
Awesome animation. Always loved how these trains worked. The way the wheels span and how they worked on the tracks. I’m very sorry for your loss. May your uncle Rest In Peace.
Satisfying to watch my man. Music helps too
Sorry for your loss man
I loved trains from a young age, it’s nice to see some of these trains again. It’s nice to see another vid from you. Steam might be endangered, but we still love it! And I love all of the engines from experimental engines to the strongest and most powerful. Merry Christmas! I can’t wait for what comes next!
Very nice and RIP your uncle
I wish I was around the time steam roamed the plains. But with the restoration of 2926, 1309, 2100 (currently under way), and 5550. We will be able to see how they ran back in the golden age of railroading. Long live American Steam.
Honestly I am a fan of steam engine’s and everything else on earth with steam engine’s and epic video and rest in piece of your uncle
Out of all these locomotives I rode behind the Reading T1, It was an amazing sight.
Love the content man! I always loved to see steam locomotives in action because there not only powerful but they are living beasts, they bring life to the rails, but I wish you the best of hope in these dire times and I hope your uncle rests peacefully!
Excellent. A really nice collection of steam.
THE American steam will always be remembered among the railfans the American Steam begins in the 19 century and ended in the 20th Century specifically in the 1950s
Have you heard, NS haragige unit 8099 derailed recently? And also, your almost to 100k subs. NICE JOB
I have
Already know bout it. Another HU for Juniata to fix
Yeah, Me Too, I Saw 8099 At Horseshoe Curve Back In August Of 2019
RIP to your uncle Pasquale De Tommaso 1955-2021. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good job on the vid like the array of trains
Happy holidays

This bring me nostalgia
Excellent Video!

A personal favorite of mine and my favorite of the bonus tracks on the Undertale soundtrack collector's edition
4:01 this was my favorite train when I was little for some reason.
Great one like the video very much. Hope there more to come.
This is giving me AmtrakGuy365 vibes. Nice job.
Awesome dedication to your uncle and the great steamers that built this country
Very well done
O7 to the American legends.
Cool stuff, man.
Steam engines or my 2th favorite
Your so close to obtaining the Silver Playbutton award
Very nice video. The undertale music was great. Hope you feel better
4449 was seen during the hoilday express,on 11th of December,2021.
Nice. 😎👍🏻
Thanks for sharing. 🚅
This fall break, during a visit to Penn State Altoona, I visited the 1361 for the first time. It was the first time I ever saw a steam locomotive in pieces.
Also went to Horseshoe curve during the trip
I can’t wait to see the next train wreck documentary
Everyone liked that
neat
heart teh music
May your uncle rest in peace, Thomas.
well i am so sorry for your uncle's death and i love the video by the way
For a reason I've always wondered why these big American steam locomotives appear to have seats in their cabs (Big Boys, SP 4449 and 611 for examples)
Cool video and music! You have a talent for putting together a good video, which I've seen in your wreck documentaries. I really enjoy them! And, I miss them a lot! You haven't made any in a long time. Why don't you do some other stories, documentaries of railroad events, other than wrecks? You have real talent. Your sense for drama and the punch line is great. Plus, you have a great voice for it. Keep it up!
Good Old Days of Steam :)
Nice pfp
May your uncle rest in peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Even though I prefer European locomotives, American locomotives are still very nice.
Also I hope you had a merry christmas
Something that we can both agree on
And also theres a P7 still around and that's B&O 5300, I went into her cab and as of now is under cosmetic restoration
May da steam roll on!
The mainline steam has complete giveaway to diesel power.
Thunderbolt, your almost at 100k subs
Cool
NS #8099 Derailed Near Pittsburgh A Few Days Ago, It's A Shame It Happened. Fortunately The Crew Survived, Even Though 2 Out Of The 3 Had To Be Extracted From The Wreckage. Also, I Saw 8099 At Horseshoe Curve Back In August Of 2019. I Think #8099'S Likely To Get Repaired, The Other Unit, NS #8175, Looks Totaled Though.
sorry about your lost
all of these trains are designed like they're really proud to be making steam. Diesel trains look like they hate themselves and would really rather be a steam train.
then with electric trains, we come full circle, completely proud that they don't need anything larger than the electric motors in the bogeys.
nice even though I like Diesel best I also like Steam as well.
Great video, though if you pause at 1:19 the Broadway Limited has a coach from the... Santa Fe?
I have way too many questions about that.
That was a thing the Broadway Limited did. ATSF would sometimes provide a sleeper for connections to Los Angeles. PRR and ATSF had good ties with each other
Rest in peace thunderbolt's uncle
Is this a game cause I really want play it
Yeah it’s trainz simulator
😎
would you di Schubert Serenade for the NYC Hudsons.
Yahoo!
The early years of american steam locomotive ; )
I've been on a train once but that was a long time ago. I belive i was 4 or 6. Maybe 10? Idk i don't have that good of a memory to remember something from a long time ago especially at a very young age.
5:40 DeLoreon on the flatcar. XD
I was hoping someone would notice it :)
I’ve only been on the North Conway train once but Amtrak I have not been on yet at all I’m trying to see if I can get my parents to take me shopping maybe to New York or Chicago or Boston or maybe Los Angeles California
Thank you so much for your videos bro 😎 if we ever bump into one another please surprise me
I’ve never been to Pennsylvanian before is it nice where you live thunderbolt 1000 siren 🚨 production
American railroading at its finest
ASGORE DREAMUUR
I hope your uncle knew that 1309 steamed again
Is their no Rogers Ten-wheeler for Casey Jones
I didn't have one :/
🚂🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞
What the name of the song?
Its in the video description. Bereavement - Toby Fox
Oh ok
Is there a big boy in the vid?
No but there is a 1st gen UP Challenger. The music video focused more on engines that are either extinct or have no operational examples preserved as of now.
It so sad that your uncle died year 2021
0:51 What's this little steam engine?
Reading A-4 camel back. 1187 in particular which ended up at a plant in Birdsboro after retirement, then Strasburg, and now getting restored at the Age of Steam roundhouse in Ohio
Thunder, I want u to sing a music video
