Hey Monkee. I work surgery tables and other med devices. For all the connections. I use 4 inch colored zip ties from McMaster Carr. Industrial supply. On any connector. Take. Say 2. Red zip ties. Put 1 tie on each of the connections. Then use 2 blue. On next 1. They sale about 20 colors. If I go past the 20 pairs. I then. Combo pairs. Say black and purple. Or double reds. Kim sure you get the idea. Like your channel. Peace

I have been pondering on the idea of changing out mine but immediately took note on having a bottle of bourbon within reach, by the end of this I decided just to do the bourbon and be content with looking at the black awhile longer
I did the inner fairing on my 2011 Ultra Limited. Well worth it. I used the Metra inner so I could put a double DIN Car Play/Android Auto head unit in. A few more gauges on the older models, but not too difficult. Also put a radio antenna under the fairing, so pretty nice install.
If you aren't using the CIg Lighter you should do the swap to replace it with a Garage Door opener. I built my own but others are selling them. Very easy to make and gives you some function out of that spot on the fairing.
Good idea. I need the power port powering a GoPro, but also have the app controlled garage door opener. That's pretty awesome.
Changed out my 2019 streetglide inner fairing to mat h my wicked red outer fairing. First time, took 4 hrs to do. It really is not to hard. Looked great. Also put 12 inch apes on the bike. Did not have to remove ignition or change wires in bars. You can do it big guy.
Looks awesome! Yesterday I swapped out both rotors on my Dyna. Pulled both wheels on the jack, garage a mess with parts. My wife walks in and says "I see you have gone Full Monkey". 😀

I have a good friend of mine doing a handlebar swap for me because there are more wiring connections than I can handle with my level of competency.
My only regret is that I should have seen how many bikes he is currently working on because my job is taking a lot longer than I thought it would.
So, I give you credit for being able to do it yourself.
That is a thing for sure. Shops definitely overbook themselves…

You are great , but get yourself a fold up table the heavy plastic one that you can use inside instead of setting on the floor I use one for my bike works great .I bought mine at Canadian Tire yes in Canada

Can confirm Atleast back to 2017 the ignition switch cover is open and easy to remove that way also

OMG! Same here. I don't like electrical. I bought a 2022 SGS. They broke the inner fairing and outer fairing unloading the bike from the truck with the forklift. They have to do all that. I glad I don't.

FYI/Correction on the Dakotas, you might have already heard this at this point, but the Dakotas get the cylinder head temperature from the ECM, so you should also install the oil temperature sensor… I have gauge 2 on mine displays voltage and out side air temperature and gauge 1 displays cylinder head temp and oil temp…
Thanks, those are great setup ideas. I am definitely going to put the oil temp plug in once I get the rest of the body on.
@@ProfessionalMonkey You're welcome my friend, I e-mailed ya some pictures back when I installed them, let me know if you want me to e-mail them again for ya... I also been talking to their management to pressure them with updating their App, since it has not been updated in two years. I reported a bug and some nice suggestions. They promised they were working on them and as of a few days ago they told me there are still working on it but no definite ETA yet...

Looks BAD ASS If you really want to have fun try a inner fairing swap on a 2013 and older Electra Glide and i was smart as well to put Dakota Digitals in mine.
I'm in the middle of mine right now, 09 Ultra Classic. I thought about the Dakota gauges but between Dennis Kirk and the painter they will have to wait.
I'm sure. I have heard that the pre 2014 fairings have 10 times the wiring...
@@ProfessionalMonkey Yes but like you said take your time and you will get through it . Just like when i put my fueling cam chest and Screamin Eagle big bore kit on my 2012 Electra Glide Classic.

Just found your channel love it also just had the Dakota installed “love them”. My question is I just ordered a new locking clip p/n 53000077 for the media storage on my 14 flhxs because my door will not close properly. Can you tell me do I need to remove the entire fairing to replace that clip? Live the videos and I’m sure I’ll see you at some events in Florida. I have a question, I deleted the ecm on my 13 road glide, it's carburated, stand alone ignition, will Dakota digital gages work on my bike?
That's a really good question... I kind of feel like no? Like the ECM sends the signals, right?

Tank isn’t getting painted. Actually tank was never in the way oddly enough.

I have the HD Rockford Stage II and I recently spent time on a bike with an aftermarket Rockford system. I actually think they were damn near the same...

Inner fairing is different for a trike, it has to be cut down, can you believe that? I would check with the fairing exchange.

When doing the gauges, does the odometer read what the actual mileage is supposed to be? Never did it or experienced it so just wondering. TIA.
It pulls from the ECM and you can set it during the first 100 miles of use in case that doesn’t work.
Are you going to the myrtle Beach bike week?

Yep, they are actually little chrome rings that come off the old gauges really easily.

Did I misunderstand? I thought you were going to replace the speaker grills?
I was, in the video I realized I couldn't. The Stage 2 RF speakers have a central "bar" that makes the grills not fit.

I don't think so. I don't think the bike sends the gear location signal unless the clutch is out so it's not the gauge...

On the video you're talking about the guy with the lone Wolf patch no club blah blah blah you guys really seriously need to think what the heck the dude is wearing a lone wolf no club to notify anybody that will walk up to him or figure out where to kick his butt that he's not involved with a club that he's not subject to your rules he just wants a patch on his back because he rides the bike it's part of the bike world it's a part of anybody that owns a motorcycle or likes motorcycles or anything of the sort it goes well on with motorcycles. It don't go with clubs or whatever okay the thing of it is is if your prospect is caught out there with three whole patches on his jacket before he earned them corn to the rules and it is accepting according to the rules by being a prospect that's different but if it's just some guy that's running around on his motorcycle he's not affiliated with anybody he's doing nothing but Ryan is bike around stop for a drink gets back on his bike and cruises around a little bit goes home takes off his biker clothes and puts on his office and his clothes like a suit or something and goes to work in his car doesn't need a bunch of animals wanting to beat him up because they think that they own every patch in the world
