I never knew much about motorcycle mechanics except what I’ve learned from videos like yours, but like most teenagers back in the 70’s, I’ve spent more than a little time under the hood wrenching on a engine. I knew enough that I had a complete exhaust and Hi-flow air filter put on my bike before I ever took delivery of it. And it was tuned and Dyno’d as part of the process. Wasn’t looking for a big jump in power, just wanted the engine to run better, which it does!
Per Harley, a stage 1 is the following. Intake, Exhaust and tuner. When you select your exhaust, Haley Davidson list slip ons and one exhaust "System". It is not until you get to a stage IV do they list exhaust headers. Also when you order a stage IV it says purchase of slips-ons, intake and tuner required. So a stage 1 is intake, exhaust "slip ons", tuner.
lol that’s a stupid comment. The factory pipe is extremely heavily and garbage. I shed a lot of weight scraping it for a beautiful 2into1 stainless pipe. Slip ons are a waste of money to me. I also increased HP and TQ by getting rid of the duel shitty factory pipes and even with slip ons still not the power I got from a 2into1. I have a 23 Roadglide-ST. Why the hell i want to spend that kind of money to put slip ons. And when I do put a cam in my bike I will already have the expensive full pipe out the way. I think you’re an idiot. We all waste money on parts for our bikes.
I recently put my Screamin Eagle heavy breather back on my Twin Cam. I had an S&S Stealth on it for a while and had nothing but oil leaks from around the breather bolts especially the forward cylinder. I did everything I could to make it stop, but S&S expects you to use rubber coated metal washers as gaskets and they don't work as intended. So, from now on, I'll use Screamin Eagle intakes. The quality is much better.
Pro Monkey speaks the truth. Each year we run out to the desert and on brand new bikes, youll cool yourself in the middle of summer. we intentionally add fuel tuners to cool the bike down a touch.
