I am 75 yrs. old and handicap I don't have heart problems. I did some research and found out about cold showers. I started taking cold baths about a week ago. I could not believe how good it made me feel, I have so much energy now. I am also taking things to help with inflammation. I just subscribed to your channel.
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Love Dave ASPREY! He is overwhelmingly sweet and gives generously to help others! I always listen when he speaks, and trust his investigative work! God bless you always Dave!
"1. The world is more complex than you perceive it to be. Like there are things that you just don't notice that are really important. 2. You have way more control than you ever thought you did. 3. It costs you more and causes more harm than you think when you hold hate and anger in your heart. The antidote for that is gratitude and forgiveness."
Actionable takeaways: - take a 1 minute cold shower daily - walk for 20 minutes each day - sprint train once a week - lift heavy weights when training - remove MSG from your diet
This is one of my favorite interviews Lewis! There's no doubt that our brain is very complex and requires a "complex" approach. I was very interested in Daves research and knowing people myself that are passionate about neuroscience, I can say with almost utter certainty that this is not a topic one explores, much less devotes a lifetime to, unless it is close to their heart. Side note: Anyone trying to discredit someone who is spending their life doing research to help improve lives, is honestly just not thinking with kindness and clarity. As Don Miguel Ruiz says, Be Impeccable With Your Word. The most interesting parts of this interview for me were: - the debate between brain for muscles vs muscles for brain - MITOCHONDRIA (mind-blown) - the ways to "manipulate" mitochondria (cold showers, intense workouts, rest, right foods, etc) - Recovery time - Bullet Proof (had never considered it before) Dave Osprey is right when he says that our brain and body functions are one complex being. So complex, that it takes experts, the curious, the sick, and the called, to follow new paths and show others the way.
My mom's still healthy at 98 she doesn't know or do any of this. She says she doesn't eat much though so that is calorie restriction. Plus she walks for exercise.
A.) Routine takeaways:- -> Bed time = Honey, Low light, Cold environment -> Morning = Cold shower, Bulletproof coffee, 20 min walk. -> Once a week = 60 sec Sprint-rest technique (15 min) B.) Habit takeaways:- -> Stop eating bad fat. -> Use halogen instead of LED. -> Avoid living in toxic mold environment. C.) Connect:- -> Insta: Dave.Asprey -> FB: Dave Asprey ~ Great work Dave sir.
There's an old Military saying regarding rest in wartimes that goes something like this. "If you can walk, walk. If you can stand, stand. If you can sit, sit. If you can lay down, lay down." I think this somewhat matches with what Dave is describing about pushing your Body effectively.
Whether you like him or not, a good percentage of what Dave is saying, is true and works. Nootropics...with water, regular exercise, and actual progressive learning, will take you far. No, nootropics don't suddenly give you a 40 point boost in IQ. But, they can grease the gears, so to speak. Like the quote from Limitless says, "Works better if you're already smart", which is pretty accurate. I think...Dave would benefit from hiring younger, smarter people to push his brand.
Well he made me aware of my mythocondria, if anything. I'll do the cold shower thing for sure, good quality sleep check, move your ass check, get enough light check. As for eating the right foods, it's driving me crazy nowadays, I swear. You hear a thousand new theories and studies that tell you "alcohol is bad for you"- "not anymore! a glass of red wine is actually healthy". "You should always eat fish! fish is good for you" - "too much fish is unhealthy".."Garlic is an antioxidant , garlic is good for you" - "but bad for your stomache" ...I mean so much confusing information out there, everyone seems to know better nowadays and the information is often contradictory. How do I know what's right?
Thanks Lewis for interviewing Dave (it's through this podcast that I've discovered you). Small minded people are always knocking Dave, hey he's not perfect, in fact he has some glaring faults, but he's brilliant when it comes to thorough research.
actually all he talked about is rehashed things . Even you follow holostic naturalpaths who believe in science . Also the biggest testimony is yourself , he claims he tested these methods on himself that speaks volumes.
Lewis, this show was really good. I appreciate how you are broad with exploring different people studies on human potential and achieving wholeness. Dave gave some great insights and any entrepreneur should be at least curious to explore bio-hacking.
I was super surprised when I heard this as well, though it's true. Spend a whole day mulling over complex topics and you're surprised at how draining it is.
Marina Marino i'll have to disagree. i spend most of my days thinking and reflecting on life and it makes little to no changes to my life. i always tell myself if i put all the energy on work i'd have accomplished much more
WONDERFUL interview Lewis! Thank you SO much for this and for your channel! I am grateful to have found you and am appreciative for the focus and dedication you have to these topics! :)
Excellent pill salesman. Would like to see a video where he maxes out the treadmill at 45 degrees, which by my reckoning is under a 5 minute mile pace.
I am a coffee lover and purchased the bulletproof brand for the first time. AMAZING!! I don't think I can ever go back. When it says "Smooth," it means it! Yum!
A lot of good points covered. Gonna learn more about how nueroplasticity can help for increased recognition of patterns, which is necessary for improving behavior and maximizing daily activity.
Rogan's podcast proof his coffee is not unique. Starbucks, whole foods, Walmart coffee no mico toxin. but MCT and Organic grass feed butter unsalted does improve all coffee. If you make a problem tell people other coffee is bad= more money up his asprey. way to go.
Dave Asprey has some good information and he also has some sketchy information. That is why you should do your own research because sometimes people may overlook things or become locked into their lie(s) to maintain their business interests. That is normal in this day and age, people need to make money.
I've been a fan and follower of Dave and the Bulletproof brand and can say this is still a very very informative video w lots of great information. Thanks for the solid ending
2:17 "Anything you do with your brain, it all comes down to how well your brain can use, make, and allocate energy." The ketogenic diet is a game changer.
I skateboard and my one concern is that I won't have the power for performance when in keto. I've looked over sources and I can't find any answer to this. Sure keto is great but if I can't skate it doesn't matter. Though I don't want to be eating bad foods.
Thanks for the info, I'd recommend Dave to increase the flow of all that energy he is producing in those mitochondria. Minerals and focused manner to activate his nervous, meridian systems. Enhance the mind and slow down the brain. Good Luck.
I have heard that if you have an overgrowth of candida that it feeds off of ketones easier than glucose. Is that true? I have been exposed to mold and have had neurological problems develop after. A change in diet helped a lot, but I have a candida overgrowth and a chronic inflammatory response to several foods with possible mycotoxins on/in them. I tried a ketogenic diet, but felt almost faint at one point.
Hmm, I'm not very knowledgeable on this stuff but I've hang out with people that are. I would suggest finding a fasting retreat, reading about it's benefits beforehand or slowly getting on keto-diet, remember you don't have to go 100% all in. I know there is a specific progressive method to this that I don't know the name of. And a tip! Do trust all the "official science statements". Trust what works for you and trust what you see works in others. In other words be the scientist without the dogma!

If you see it on the body, it's in the brain... This is mind blowing! LOVE your interviews, thanks for doing what you do! Also, you should interview vegan chef superstar and Forbes 30 under 30, Chloe Coscarelli...that would be dynamite!
Thanks for introducing me to Dave Asprey! I totally resonate with his definition of greatness and his 3 truths are my favorite yet! Hope you do another podcast with Dave in the future!
Very interesting, not sure about eating less carbs though, being an athlete myslelf I eat a lot of carbs to fuel my muscle cells with glycogen and as far as I know mitochondrias prefered fuel source is glucose. I think there is also not a single high level athlete, especially sprinter, on a low carb (high fat) diet. Loved the part when Dave talked about cold showers, reminded me of Wim Hof! :) Thank You, Lewis, for a great interview!
I love your podcast but this one isn't my favourites tbh. Dave was a bit too extreme for me. There were some helpful take always for regular life though so thanks for those - cold shower, sprints, some of the food ideas etc.. Thanks Lewis!
Watch his video with Dr Mark Hyman. He is not vegan. Mentions some nutrients you need from eggs, fish etc. I think he barely eats starches..but lots of fats
But is he really only 47? He does look to be at least in his mid 50's? I was shocked when I discovered his age. Having said that I do appreciate his life work, experimenting on him self to discover new things.
What is the research chemical’s spelling that sounded like assarum Dave said he used to increase his mitochondria by 50% & gained 19 pounds in a month?
Asprey is pretty manic here, almost disturbingly so. Probably heavily caffeinated. Also, he needs to work on modesty. Still, he has some good ideas and is looking at the right stuff, and his new book looks good, unique.
How do you explain a high IQ. In people who can not use their muscles. I for one have known people who can not function physically but can think faster than the most inelegant.
Okay since you're mentioning nicotine how come nobody ever mentions marijuana and I'd like to believe marijuana has a lot of more benefits for you would love to see a show on that
Asprey is very good businessman, he very well talks and invented biohacking word with nice personal story behind. But he is in the first line skilled , smart businessman pitching his brands all over, pretending to do some favor to the public by his podcasts etc .I don't buy his products as competitions' products are either better quality or better priced. And he looks much older than well maintained 43 years old guy, what is sort of shame.
I just found out the sky has diabetes I mean Dave Asprey. And he also does super strong medication that works like speed. Not healthy but Rich. Or wealthy anyway.

Evan Green Thanks, have a good day
I only added things you can do right now
I think there's nothing wrong with those advice. Even though it seems 'common sense', it's not uncommon for people to do it.
What’s msg?
Lol,

Also he's on point about inflammation :)

Those 51 minutes just flew by! So interesting! I could listen to him talk for hours!
Same here!
Enjoying bullet proof coffee while watching this great interview.
This is awesome information that I'm sharing with my TBI peer's group.

Just pre ordered the book. Whoop Whoop. This is my shit. I LOVE IT! Thank you for bringing this to me Lewis. Keep on keepin on.
I'm stoked on this guy great stuff, and btw cutting out sugar is Greatness.

Definitely agree, even if 8 don't agree on everything he says most of what he says it very important to know for bio hacking

Loved what he said about striving to have an inner awareness tied with outer awareness, and removing self deception good !
Asprey changes your life Thanks
Thanks Dave!
Very informative
Dave is awesome, the book was great. This was like a nice summary
Lewis man! Just subscribed. I've seen a couple interviews by you and you are alway so honest and genuine, thank you!
His books totally changes my body, brain and life.

does stevia have the same effect as artificial sweetners?
No. it's healthier.
You're right. He looks good. Smooth and plum complexion.

Is drinking bullet proof coffee 3xs a day UNHEALTHY?
Exactly so unhealthy for your heart !!!
I am still not understanding is he saying that Ketones production is good for you or not?
Did anyone else think the host said welcome to the school of brains
I love your podcast but this one isn't my favourites tbh. Dave was a bit too extreme for me. There were some helpful take always for regular life though so thanks for those - cold shower, sprints, some of the food ideas etc.. Thanks Lewis!
what is the ring Dave Asprey wears?
I'm curious to know what he thinks of the Vegan diet.
Watch his video with Dr Mark Hyman. He is not vegan. Mentions some nutrients you need from eggs, fish etc. I think he barely eats starches..but lots of fats
this stuff is fascinating. Thanks for your input.
He was Vegan for a period of time and talks about it in multiple interviews
But is he really only 47? He does look to be at least in his mid 50's? I was shocked when I discovered his age. Having said that I do appreciate his life work, experimenting on him self to discover new things.
He does look older than his age. I think it's the fasting.
But in one of your vidéo you Told coiffée is a bean and not healthy???can you tell me why you tell Now the opposite
Did y'all catch that?? My brotha said he wants to live until 180?? 😱😱😱
Sorry what is MSG?
What is the research chemical’s spelling that sounded like assarum Dave said he used to increase his mitochondria by 50% & gained 19 pounds in a month?
Asprey is pretty manic here, almost disturbingly so. Probably heavily caffeinated. Also, he needs to work on modesty. Still, he has some good ideas and is looking at the right stuff, and his new book looks good, unique.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. He seems manic and came across very self absorbed
After 1 hour of took 1 tsp of bulletproof brain octane I experienced the most awful headache of my life. I gave a second chance and happened the same.
I have to sleep to survive!
this man should invest the same energy and money on psychedelics some day this should have some interesting results
Mono sodium glutamate?
He looks older than 44 to be honest. Some good tips to take away from the video though. Thanks!
RUclips red users hate this channel.

Totally agree money is key😂😂😂
I just found out the sky has diabetes I mean Dave Asprey. And he also does super strong medication that works like speed. Not healthy but Rich. Or wealthy anyway.
valerie Nightshade the sky?
Do you mean Modafinil? I use that and it's not super strong like speed.
This dude sounds like Jason Segel

For someone that supposedly "bio-hacked" health he seems a little bit pudgy ...
I didn't even know he was taking that. But it is not just in the face I can see it, its his chest as well. I've read his bulletproof book. I'll admit it was very informative and interesting but I have also heard he is a con artist.
book also states if you want to live longer 15-20% bodyfat is ideal
Good point... but have you read his book? In his book he claims to have had a six pack without going to the gym. All I'm saying is something isn't working or he isn't living what he preaches
I read the book and realized I am an idiot for buying his book. Buddy is on steroids , making his diet and training advice irrelevant.
Don't get me wrong, The Bullet Proof Diet book put a lot into perspective and helped me think differently but I wouldn't buy any of his products.
