I'm a HVACR guy have been for 30yrs. I have learned a ton with the short time subscribed and watching since Ben's BMW. Your a great teacher. Thank you for the lessons. Stay safe and be well. God bless
I work for Crash Champions too, I left Classic collision where they were spraying PPG. Glasurit 100 is about twice as fast as PPG in my opinion once I had a good month with it. PPG cycle times are just so slow and there’s more steps with etch, adhesion promoter and flash times for clear/ sealer. Classic collision has just switched to Axalta this because of this issue lol. I was struggling to paint 3 cars a day with PPG🙄
Awesome job Kandy man. I know with Axalta it's the same. Recommend to do manufacturer first, if that don't work broaden the search by taking off the manufacturer and see what the system finds.
The reason why I always put the manufacturer in the scanner is the scanners are not good at measuring the coarseness of the metallics. But in some cases, like this Honda, you need to do what ever you can.
It falls on us to get the color looking right but I guess my biggest gripe is for all the times anyone around the world has typed in an RO, year/model, and successfully found something and mixed it, that information should go in the system. The most popular chosen alternate for the 2010 Acadia we’ll say, should still be in there to help. I feel like the internet isn’t matching up to the hype 30 years ago! Sherwin system 2.0 would give you the most popular choice but it was always standard 😟.
I run it unfiltered on all solid colors and search all the results and take the best adjusted match based on the curve.. you can pretty much panel match most of the solids no blend. That camera is insane and the tech behind it! Also the rep had you selecting the lab sprayed variant on the Left. But I would say I spray 99 percent of the time with the adjusted formula on the right. I would also highly recommend looking at the visual comparison.. you can click on the magnifying glass and it makes it large on the screen.. play around with that bc it’s very accurate on what it will look like.
Very informative video Kandy Man, it's nice to see a pro like yourself make the system work for you rather than having it dictate what you should do, at the end of the day these computers don't always know best👌 I haven't tried my DV1 base gun for sealer, my usual sealer gun is my Sata 100b but the Fuji MP-V8 is also a good gun for sealer🙏👍John UK
Only 1.5 coats of basecoat? I guess the right color sealer below is critical to achieve this feat of 1.5 coats only. Which helps the budget of the shop for paint materials in the long term. Sealer is cheaper than metallic.
No disrespect at all but all those cameras from day one were a joke and I wanted 0 to do with them. I’ve been out of it for 9 years but I never bothered….. maybe they’ve gotten better by now…?🤷🏻♂️ Not to blow my own horn but I always had a knack for tinting and could do it on the fly as soon as I found the best blendable match and hit a panel with it, I rarely did spray outs. Working in super high production environments helped with that, it was like boot camp every day lol. Definitely not great advice for everyone but it always worked for me. Good stuff though and solid advice👍🏻 Glasurit was hands down the best system I ever shot, I absolutely loved their polyester base ( I think it was the 55 line ) back in 2001, even with the “high solids” movement their clears and single stage were great too. I sprayed the one shower in my house Toyota 040 with their single stage and it literally still looks perfect 22 years later lol, way more durable than the gel coat. Really good stuff
Hey Kandy, this is unrelated to the vid but I know you love using the 3m accuspray a lot and if figured I'd let you know the US just got approval for the new "fine finish" nozzles they're basically RP heads
Kandy: help. i had solvent pop on my clear from an area paint job i had to do on my suv. did some dent work and deep scratches. anyway, because my clear had scores of bubbles i had to strip it . i sanded my base coat . my stupid question is do i have to prime or can i just reapply base coat? if need prime should i use epoxy or 2k urethane?
I had problems figuring out glasurit pc20 clear coat. And for example on 376 g of clear and hardener it goes 22 g od reducer and I added 37 g instead and got beautiful results. In your opinion, will I have any problems afterward on that amount of reducer added.
Hey Candyman, getting ready to start using the 100 line in October. I know you were using the Fuji for the sealer that’s what I use for sealer. I think it works pretty good but I was wondering how long does it take the 100 to dry after you’re done painting do you flash it or do you bake it for a while?
BRILLIANT VIDEO THERE WITH THAT NEW PAINT SYSTEM I SEEN YOU HAVE THE SAME GUN 🔫 AS ME WS400 1.3 OBS BLUE CAP 1.3 DIGITAL VERSION WHAT ARE THERE LIKE HAVEN'T USED MINE YET WOULD YOU SAY THERE GOOD AT THE SATAJET X 55OO 1 2 OR 1.3 I OR O PATTEN ANDY 😊😅
Love your vids as usual, glad to hear that the Glasurit transition has been a success. One thing i want to ask you thats unrelated to the vid, im in the market for a new clear gun. I spray DC4000 and i know you had some experience with it before the switch, you have any recommendation for a clear gun?
I hate that gm color. I alway get nervous putting wet bed and alot of clear on edges of my blend door especially on a color like that. Always seems to darken it.
so if lets its a redish maroon and its been faded by the sun whats first thing it comes to your mind leave out some materials or add a tint that makes it look kind of washed or old i need some help

Do you find yourself painting, more cars than with the PPG I would think you would be a lot faster the 100 system???

Man, I could watch you paint all day.
The reason why I always put the manufacturer in the scanner is the scanners are not good at measuring the coarseness of the metallics. But in some cases, like this Honda, you need to do what ever you can.
I always run open search. The more you use it the better it gets. And if it hasn’t yet, it will start picking the oem color.

Hey there Kadyman! I would highly recommend the iwata Loh300 for sealer. It has been my to go to gun for sealer spraying the 100 line.

Just in time having some issues getting hyundai y5 silver nist metallic to match ,gonna try a wet bed and what you recommended

that entirely depends on the camera and mostly the system/software, ive used systems where the camera software was a complete waste of time.
Hey kandyman what's your thoughts on LED lights in the paintbooth, thank you in advance
@@johnpoccia4981 they are ok

Just got em 💪
Performance not accuspray
I do that as well when the camera shot is off. Delete the manufacture and search for any similar color. 👍
👊👊
Do you find the camera reading better than the ppg camera reading?
So far yes

2k primer is the best chance of a solid foundation 🙌

Hi Kandy! I'm a big fan from Argentina. Can you send me a greeating? I am a painter in progress and I love Glasurit. Great jobs and successes!
Hello my friend thanks for the support team glasurit 💯
Are you getting jobs done faster now compared to when you sprayed Ppg?
Yes
