I went back and watched them often I finished the series, there bad and they don’t accurately represent the rest of the series either

The first 12 minutes of steins gate had me so lost I fell asleep lol, I plan to watch the show in the future
Personally I watched like 6 or 7 episodes and just could not get into it. People kept saying it hits a major turning point at like 8 or 9 episodes in and then becomes absolutely amazing but at this point it’s been like 3 years since I stopped watching it and I’m dreading rewatching the first 7 episodes to catch back up and then get to the good stuff haha

I think monster did a great job at delivering a very strong pilot episode and on the other side I think my favourite anime of all time Ashita no Joe kind of doesn’t grip you 100% in first episode but it’s spiritual remake Megalobox does

My unpopular opinion, i really disliked the 1st episode of mob100 which is why till this day i never picked it up even thought people say its good.

Even though HxH is in my top 3, I do believe the first episode didn't l doesn't really convey what the show really is, so it kinda fails in they regard, but it's not a bad episode at all.
Hxh starts out slow but it gets way better later

In my opinion animes that have long term story devolopment need to sacrifice their first episode to let the story devolopment
How so? I don't think that applies to Naruto, which is definitely long-running

While Sword Art Online does have a three act structure to its first episode: it also bogs you down every second of it with exposition and trivia about random garbage.

I think Phantom Blood is kinda shitty overall but it does have a good first 3 episodes
and the last episode tells a nice finale I think.
