Fun fact about this game: hate QTE's? just disable them from options and enjoy awesome cinematics. hate minigames? enable skipping from options and skip them all! you can also disable plenty of other things that might annoy you such as if you are not a fan of Jameson ranting then disable his podcast. What else could you ask? :D

It does seem a bit troublesome that the main single-player bombshells, so far, seem to be first party or first party funded games. The trick is getting more AAA third parties willing to go all out on them. Ubisoft may be the only real standout.

Matthewbraith 0 dlc is not microtransitions unlike microtransitions, DLC actually offers content like maps and require to be downloaded. microtranactions are in-game "premium currency" or "premium skins" and don't require any downloading as they are already part of the game.
Dan Ward -So far it has done twice as well as God of War which is pretty insane. They basically just started a billion dollar franchise with one game and with more to come. Hopefully this shows Marvel that there is a huge consumer base for their IP or to any superhero for that matter. I could see a Moon Knight, Daredevil ( crossover ) game or other narrative driven characters in here. Maybe a Hawkeye and black widow ( splinter cell/sniper elite) linear game with open map spaces. I’d like to see a big budget iron man game in 5-6 years with better tech to help out.

Spiderman, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Yakuza, Uncharted, Last of Us, Bloodborne, Persona 5, Nier Automata, Ghost of Tsushima. My xbox one is a glorified region locked dvd player. The only good thing is that it allows me to play my original xbox and 360 games.

For those annoyed with the quick time events and puzzles put in the game, there are options in the accessibility sub-menu to skip them. I thought that was a really nice touch by the developers to anticipate some common nitpicks players might have.
I don't mind quick time events, but stopping the car during those car chases was taking a toll on your boys index finger. Nearly pushed the square button through the back of my controller trying to complete it each time.

I think a part of the reason the collectibles don't feel arbitrary is that there's some meaning to all of them. You get to learn more of Peter's backstory from the backpacks, dive deeper into Black Cat and Taskmaster's schemes or just feel good about helping an old man bring his family of pigeons that his wife raised back together. They all inherently drive closer to the overall goal of feeling like Spider-Man, doing things that Spider-Man would do.
Fun fact. In the accessibility settings, you can choose to have QTE auto complete, have button mash bits just require you to hold it and more. The settings alone deserve a point, Insomniac have just killed it in every way. Marvel went to Sony and asked them to make a game for one of their characters and Sony went to Insomniac and gave them the choice of what they wanted to make and they chose Spider-man, so of course the game is labor of love. And it shows! I don't personally think that the stealth section were that bad, especially in the end when MJ got the taser. My only complaints are honestly some of the side stuff is repetitive, like the bases, and the combat challenges. (The stealth and drone ones were really fun though) and that the chemistry between Peter and MJ was forced as hell. I much much MUCH preferred Yuri over MJ, and she would have fit much better in the stealth sections. I also spent the first hour just swinging around the city doing stuff. I finished it in only 4 days (when I say finished, I mean I got the plat) so I was a little disappointed it wasn't longer, but it still had a lot of value. To me it's definitely a 10/10.
I think that's the annoying part, if mj and miles had their part why didn't yuri had one? I was expecting one in the raft part where her and spidey split ways. I loved the chemistry between her and spidey more than mj imo
@@fatezero8662 even though MJ is synonymous with Spiderman and Peter, she felt forced in this game. However I really liked Miles' part, it felt organic enough and his story didn't take away from Peter's while also being a sort of origin story of his own. Yuri ended up just being the games way of giving us information for missions and despite just being pushed to the side, Yuri was still a great character and had great chemistry with Spidey. I hope Insomniac uses her a lot more in the sequel if they're doing one because she was fantastic but underutilized.

This is one of the only games I can play front to back, over and over again and not get tired of it. I've 100%d it 6 times, and watching this just made me want to play through it again. The story and how the game unfolds is just unbelievably good. Also one of the only games that has fast travel, that I never felt the need to use.. Web swinging in this game is insanely fun and only got better with MM. Can't wait for the sequel
While I didn't appreciate most of the stealth sections, thought I didn't hate them. there was that part in Grand Central station where you control both MJ and Spiderman that I thought was pretty cool.

Insomniac had to win a lot of trust back from consumers after the studios that came before them ruined the reputation of Spider-Man games. They mostly earned back good faith themselves with their amazing E3 presentation, which got fans hyped again.
Horizon is my favorite game of this gen, I hope they add to the rpg side in the sequel. Spiderman was my second favorite, god of war was my third favorite. That's not even mentioning days gone, uncharted . And yet last of us 2 or ghost could still claim that top spot. Being a ps4 owner was amazing.

This is one of the reason i love PS. I freaking love them. Since PS1 they introduce to me with incredible games. All gaming experience for me was Doom, Prince of Persian 2d on PC n Mario, Zelda on Nintendo n Sega for couple 2d games n those NHK, Capcom fighting games n tons of Arcade games on shopping mall. PS1 was the first console that introduced to me to real 3d games. I never experienced a 3d games like this before win my life. Just think how game changing moment it was for me. A home console that was way better than arcade gaming on shopping mall. I still remember playing Silent Hill, Final Fantsy 7, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Tekken, Tenchu, Tomb Raider, Onimsuha, Dino Crysis, Fatal Frame, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet n Clank etc so many games i played the birth of PS1. I never played any games like this before my life.
Detroit Bedome Human was better than Spiderman, i love Spiderman so fucking much, but it has way too many side repetitive side quets. Detrot Become Human has delivered something new, something i never didn t play. You should definetly try that game, as I said i love Spiderman maybe it will be goty, but Detroit was special.

Agreed Dr. Strangelove! I liked the web-zip mechanics to a degree in Amazing, but it felt a little too automated. Manual control is so key to good web-swinging.
Don't forget that there's gonna be 3 dlc packs, each with new characters, suits, and missions. imo, based on the quality of the of the base game, the dlc's are also gonna be fantastic!
This was a 10/10 Joe just for the fact that shows to companies that single player are no dead and there is no need to push shady microtransactions and scammy practices. A true master piece, got a PS4 Pro just for this game don't want to missed, no a fan boy here.
I've gone back and played spider-man 2 since playing marvel's spider-man. And Marvel's is objectively so much better. Yes 2004 pioneered the web swinging and is great nostalgia, but it's so clunky and difficult to do anything, especially after playing Insomniac's masterpiece.

I love it. You can change the tap a button to hold a button, disable qte and even change the subtitle appearance. Amazing how friendly this game is with hookah LMAO.
And let me add, for those who also dont like those minigames in Docs Lab like haking or that other thing, you can press R1 to skip them, and it will solve the puzzle on his own and you get the 200xp.
This game does everything so well and with great polish and they thought of a lot of things other developers wouldn't even attempt... a few examples are, if you dislike QTE you can turn them off entirely, if you get stuck on the puzzle mini game or if you don't like them in general you can skip them entirely, i'm tired of hearing complaints over the stealth segments though... I mean they're so short an easy, each segment is like 5 minutes long at most, webslinging is the best it's ever been, far better then in the loved spider-man 2, combat is fluid and straight up fun as fuck, one of the best spider-man stories i've ever seen and it punches you in the heart a couple times and that setup for the sequel was so awesome, overall No game is perfect but in terms of entertainment value, the fun factor, finally having a quality Spider-man game, for me this is a 10!!!

unlike microtransitions, DLC actually offers content like maps and require to be downloaded. microtranactions are in-game "premium currency" or "premium skins" and don't require any downloading as they are already part of the game.

For those annoyed with the quick time events and puzzles put in the game, there are options in the accessibility sub-menu to skip them. I thought that was a really nice touch by the developers to anticipate some common nitpicks players might have.
I don't mind quick time events, but stopping the car during those car chases was taking a toll on your boys index finger. Nearly pushed the square button through the back of my controller trying to complete it each time.

I think a part of the reason the collectibles don't feel arbitrary is that there's some meaning to all of them. You get to learn more of Peter's backstory from the backpacks, dive deeper into Black Cat and Taskmaster's schemes or just feel good about helping an old man bring his family of pigeons that his wife raised back together. They all inherently drive closer to the overall goal of feeling like Spider-Man, doing things that Spider-Man would do.
Fun fact. In the accessibility settings, you can choose to have QTE auto complete, have button mash bits just require you to hold it and more. The settings alone deserve a point, Insomniac have just killed it in every way.
Marvel went to Sony and asked them to make a game for one of their characters and Sony went to Insomniac and gave them the choice of what they wanted to make and they chose Spider-man, so of course the game is labor of love. And it shows! I don't personally think that the stealth section were that bad, especially in the end when MJ got the taser. My only complaints are honestly some of the side stuff is repetitive, like the bases, and the combat challenges. (The stealth and drone ones were really fun though) and that the chemistry between Peter and MJ was forced as hell. I much much MUCH preferred Yuri over MJ, and she would have fit much better in the stealth sections. I also spent the first hour just swinging around the city doing stuff. I finished it in only 4 days (when I say finished, I mean I got the plat) so I was a little disappointed it wasn't longer, but it still had a lot of value. To me it's definitely a 10/10.
I think that's the annoying part, if mj and miles had their part why didn't yuri had one? I was expecting one in the raft part where her and spidey split ways. I loved the chemistry between her and spidey more than mj imo
@@fatezero8662 even though MJ is synonymous with Spiderman and Peter, she felt forced in this game. However I really liked Miles' part, it felt organic enough and his story didn't take away from Peter's while also being a sort of origin story of his own. Yuri ended up just being the games way of giving us information for missions and despite just being pushed to the side, Yuri was still a great character and had great chemistry with Spidey. I hope Insomniac uses her a lot more in the sequel if they're doing one because she was fantastic but underutilized.

This is one of the only games I can play front to back, over and over again and not get tired of it. I've 100%d it 6 times, and watching this just made me want to play through it again. The story and how the game unfolds is just unbelievably good. Also one of the only games that has fast travel, that I never felt the need to use.. Web swinging in this game is insanely fun and only got better with MM. Can't wait for the sequel

Horizon is my favorite game of this gen, I hope they add to the rpg side in the sequel. Spiderman was my second favorite, god of war was my third favorite. That's not even mentioning days gone, uncharted . And yet last of us 2 or ghost could still claim that top spot. Being a ps4 owner was amazing.

All gaming experience for me was Doom, Prince of Persian 2d on PC n Mario, Zelda on Nintendo n Sega for couple 2d games n those NHK, Capcom fighting games n tons of Arcade games on shopping mall.
PS1 was the first console that introduced to me to real 3d games. I never experienced a 3d games like this before win my life. Just think how game changing moment it was for me. A home console that was way better than arcade gaming on shopping mall.
I still remember playing Silent Hill, Final Fantsy 7, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Tekken, Tenchu, Tomb Raider, Onimsuha, Dino Crysis, Fatal Frame, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet n Clank etc so many games i played the birth of PS1. I never played any games like this before my life.

Detroit Bedome Human was better than Spiderman, i love Spiderman so fucking much, but it has way too many side repetitive side quets. Detrot Become Human has delivered something new, something i never didn t play. You should definetly try that game, as I said i love Spiderman maybe it will be goty, but Detroit was special.
@@danielsmid3777 It's hard to compare Detroit: Become Human with Spiderman. One has minimal control of characters and a great story. One has the action and exploration aspect with more linear storytelling. Both look good

This is such a fantastic game. One of the best superhero games in years for sure! They haven't nailed the web swinging this well since Spider-Man 2, and arguably Web of Shadows.
Gaming Retrospectives Ultimate wasn’t bad but it relied to much on crawling up the web.
Amazing Spider-Man had decent web swinging and suits, but it was far from this good.
Very true Comic Man. I'm going to be replaying SM2 and Ultimate soon, so it'll be interesting to see how it compares again.

Agreed Dr. Strangelove! I liked the web-zip mechanics to a degree in Amazing, but it felt a little too automated. Manual control is so key to good web-swinging.
Don't forget that there's gonna be 3 dlc packs, each with new characters, suits, and missions. imo, based on the quality of the of the base game, the dlc's are also gonna be fantastic!

This was a 10/10 Joe just for the fact that shows to companies that single player are no dead and there is no need to push shady microtransactions and scammy practices. A true master piece, got a PS4 Pro just for this game don't want to missed, no a fan boy here.

I've gone back and played spider-man 2 since playing marvel's spider-man. And Marvel's is objectively so much better. Yes 2004 pioneered the web swinging and is great nostalgia, but it's so clunky and difficult to do anything, especially after playing Insomniac's masterpiece.

I love it. You can change the tap a button to hold a button, disable qte and even change the subtitle appearance. Amazing how friendly this game is with hookah LMAO.
And let me add, for those who also dont like those minigames in Docs Lab like haking or that other thing, you can press R1 to skip them, and it will solve the puzzle on his own and you get the 200xp.

This game does everything so well and with great polish and they thought of a lot of things other developers wouldn't even attempt... a few examples are, if you dislike QTE you can turn them off entirely, if you get stuck on the puzzle mini game or if you don't like them in general you can skip them entirely, i'm tired of hearing complaints over the stealth segments though... I mean they're so short an easy, each segment is like 5 minutes long at most, webslinging is the best it's ever been, far better then in the loved spider-man 2, combat is fluid and straight up fun as fuck, one of the best spider-man stories i've ever seen and it punches you in the heart a couple times and that setup for the sequel was so awesome, overall No game is perfect but in terms of entertainment value, the fun factor, finally having a quality Spider-man game, for me this is a 10!!!
themarine0316 I always think that while exclusives are bad for community (cause it's still a ruse to make you buy a console), but they are good for gaming (cause in order to sell a console these exclusives have to be one of the best)

loafhero I liked them cause it breaks up the gameplay moments and just gives u another perspective for a few minutes but I can understand people that would want to skip them and get back to spidey, I just wish people would stop crying over such a short segment in the game
