@@Ryder_OMEGA Amen to that However given EA's track record, I have no faith in them. Even if the loading screens are gone, Anthem 2.0 will just another MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCT, like EA's every other product. BioWare ran out of money long ago (Jason Scheier's article confirmed that) and EA didn't want to spend any further on it that's why it wasn't delayed any further and was released in such a state. I'm sure EA is spending as little as they can (if they are spending anything at all in the first place), it would be will fixed in a bare minimum amount. If anyone is thinking that Anthem is going to witness some Renaissance, with new story, new missions, new stronghold, new raid, meaningful progression and a worthy product, I'm sorry but that is not going to happen, ever, not at least Anthem sequel arrives.

@@keithpierce5686 yep bungie has learned to do live service with trail and error but when bioware or 343 tried to do it they failed horribly because that's not the type of games they have been doing you can't have for example devs that are good in making single players games into live service always release more content devs
Joe, we as a community don’t say this enough but thanks to you, all of us broke ass people like me can purchase games with confidence and get out moneys worth, thank you so so much
You guys never learn. Next E3 EA will release another good looking demo and you guys will jump all over it and preorder and the same thing will happen. I've pretty much written EA off my gaming list. Did it all the way back in 2012
Yeah,I fucking hate how boring their games are now...where the fuck are the times of Dead Space,Mirror’s Edge,Mass Effect...oh wait, they killed those series
I'm done with anything relating to EA myself. I figured Anthem would be their redemption, but it served as a true representation and detriment of EA, and to anyone under their banner.
I've been done too. Done with activision first and then ubisoft. These 3 were good during PS2 days....but they have grown too much and great gaming experiences aren't their motives anymore
I like to do that also. Then they release game like Apex LEGENDS. that shows EA Devs still got it. They can make incredible games. They give us a game that will definitely kill Fortnite. APEX is that damn good.
I liked The Division's loot drops when I returned to it in Q1 2018. Good loot should be healthy with God Rolls being rare, not good loot being rare and God Rolls being impossible.
I always go to this review as the best proof that Joe is fair with his reviews. He didn't hesitate to take a chunk of his review to discuss the good points of the game, and acknowledging they exist, rather than putting them on a footnote. Once he starts yelling, it feels justified. Great stuff. See Anthem ? THAT is good pacing.
The EA cycle: 1. EA sees that a small developer made a good and popular game. 2. EA than buys said developer for a lot of money. 3. EA forces them to cram in terrible business practices into their games. 4. The game rightfully gets panned and criticized for it's rush of development and bad business practices. 5. The developer does this for the few next years. 6. The developer fails because of what EA did, EA no longer sees them as useful and destroys them. Dice and Bioware are next on the chopping block. Both of the developers past two games have been very unsuccessful, and now EA will soon think they are no longer useful, and destroy them.
Anthem was Bioware's project and EA gave them seven fucking years. Yeah EA is greedy and all that shit but Bioware is incompetent af. They couldn't make a good game with 7 years on hand. Blame the actual devs.
pancake frenzy and then what? Those two are literally the only big developers that gave EA any kind of bank. They’d be a publishing company WITHOUT A GAME TO PUBLISH! And then...they will finally BURRRRRNN

@@caloconnor21 Yup! I thought Anthem is finally going to beat witcher 3 as an open world game, but apparently this is just another horde fighting and grinding game...
Always found it amazing how many "gamers" defended this game on social media. They mostly all quickly shut up and slunk away as the game devolved and got forgotten.
It's true. I think it's funny. Companies saw how much mmo's (the first gaas) were making so then EVERYONE tried to make an mmo. When that failed they just tried to mmo-ify every other game. I'm almost surprised Anthem isn't subscription based. Destiny practically is with its parade of dlcs. Even single player games have "daily" missions, pay to win microtransactions, and other mmo tropes these days.
I think Other Joe's story was more interesting then the review of this game. That guy is an amazing storyteller. Had me hooked till that twist ending. Unlike the rest of this predictable review :'c
Wula Lion well it’s a review, it’s supposed to be predictable if you know that it’s going to be a bad game review. What would you expect then, Joe kept talking about how bad the game is then gave it 10/10 out of nowhere?
@@ganny8149 No. you can start them from there . there is an exit door that starts missions and you can also access the Forge from within the start mission menu.. there are still loading screens though ...
How they made Anthem: Dev 1: "ohhh, Warframe, let's copy that" Dev 1: "ohhh, Destiny, let's copy that, too" Dev 2: "Warframe is free to play, no one likes this shit, let's delete everything again" Dev 3: "Is this Destiny?" Dev 1: "no"
I was one of the ones who said when the first Anthem trailers was released that it looked like a blatant Destiny clone, I was wrong, it ended up being actually worse than Destiny.
Right, companies have this idea that tons of useless detail is good story... good story in a good game should unfold over time naturally with subtle hints... not "OH HI!! I DID THIS ONCE!!! LOOK AT ME!! HELP ME WITH THIS"
Remember Borderlands 2? Cosmetics were free, RNG was great, weapons varied drastically, legendary loot looked amazing, skill treat was in depth with class mods, story was great and hilarious. Those were the good ol’ days... looter shooters before this fuckery!
Borderlands 2 was the only game that did the looter shooter right on day one. All the DLC they added were bonuses that added to the already complete experience, not added to *finish* the game. With the state of the genre, that particular part of the industry, and how Gearbox/2K have done things since Borderlands 2, I have a feeling Borderlands 3 will be filled with lootboxes and microtransactions, lacking content and be a massive disappointment.
Stories are told of a great game that has zero marketing and hype. This game was deemed the fortnite destroyer. It was deemed impossible by the dark Lord's. However when it came it swooped in and blew away every bioware ea dark lord. They we're all destroyed by the legends. The Apex legends.
But it was dev teams fault in the first place, they couldn't figure what they had to make while they had all resources and 6 years of time They just wasted it in restarting the development 3 times
@@damn6039 It was initially EAs fault because they forced every company under them to use the frost engine, which was designed specifically for battlefield and then gave them little to no help. Biowar was a strong second on the list tho.
It sounds like people who know nothing about gameplay did this. I mean really? On the LAST shot? Sure it lasts 20 seconds but you have to literally empty your magazine before getting any use out of that and that's on a legendary. Recoil also barely matters.
For twenty seconds. And stacks 2 times. It's a buff you get. I guess it would be great on weapons with awful recoil and small magazine sizes. If it takes less than 10 seconds to empty a whole magazine and to reload the weapon you would have zero recoil for all magazines after the first 2 (in case you never stop firing). It does make sense and could be useful. But if it's actually useful in that case I can't say (no idea how any of the weapons work in the game).
If that stacks times two, you can have zero recoil by your third magazine. If there's another passive that can reduce reload speed, maybe for each crit and stack tenfold, it could be interesting during long fights.
"They actually try to put a story in here..." Is this what Bioware has come to? We're obligated somehow to grant them props for merely adding a story at all? RIP Bioware, the storytelling company.
More like 2 Death Star lasers or planet busting asteroids. Thank god I spent 50$ on devil may cry 5 instead of fallout or ghost recon breakpoint or even this feast.
Anyone come back after avengers dropped? Honestly somehow this game was fun longer than playing as superheroes. Crystal dynamics dropped the ball hard, difference is they knew the game they were making.
Once again, I can't help thinking that they must have completely restarted the development couple of years ago. Something went terribly wrong and they had to start from the beginning with it. This game is what they could do in some 24 months or so, and the rest is coming within the next 24 months. Like some huge technical problem underlying the entire game that forced them to build it from scratch again. There is no way this game has seen 6 years of caring and loving from it's developers. No way! And we're talking about Bioware here, not some random rookie indie developer team. Something isn't right here. I can smell it in the air, and feel it in the ground, yet it's hidden from our eyes. The disaster of Anthem, which brought Bioware down.
Just because the developer bears the name "Bioware" means nothing. It is the people making the game that make up the development studio, not some arbitrary moniker. It's clear that this "Bioware" has little resemblance to what it was in the past.

Let's just ignore the fact that forcing an open world, an yet implementing a linear mission structure, was just a bad idea in general. What is the point of an open world, if you're going to force players out of the map as soon as they end the mission? Or force them to stay within a certain area? You might as well had a mission system similar to Rogue Squadron 64 at that point!

The EA cycle:

Not really
For this part alone this vid earned a like.
Yeah, a like just for that joke alone.
Nah that part was funny as hell.
I lost it at "Last shot reduces recoil -50%"
lol WHY?????
If it carries to the next magazine it might... might not be that bad, but it is still dumb as hell.
It sounds like people who know nothing about gameplay did this.
I mean really? On the LAST shot?
Sure it lasts 20 seconds but you have to literally empty your magazine before getting any use out of that and that's on a legendary. Recoil also barely matters.
The 0% flamethrower for 0 seconds is what lost me
For twenty seconds.

Amen.
The most reliable reviewer
Meike Nazeki The only one I really listen to.
ACG does a very well good job too I like Joe as well but he dosent review many games
I would have added TB and Jim Sterling. In modern times, you can't truly tell who is unbiased.
*"When a player picks up Anthem, I want them to feel... like they're a hero."*
In addition to that being the most generic goal I've ever heard, it also rings too true in the sense it takes a tremendous amount of bravery and fortitude to even bother with the game.
OJ's story about his goldfish is more interesting than the game's story.
Ludger Kresnik real and true LULW
Stfu hate Train kiddo
If you want to see the end of the Saga of Jimmy the Exploding Goldfish, then be sure to buy the DLC expansion pack!
Only $60!
@@naalir6120 You are sad your favorite game got shit on?
i tried to watch the story on YT..15 mins in i just dropped it...it has nice graphics, good voiceovers, and nothing else
sad to see a giant corporation being bested by a simple goldfish
Can EA stop parading around Bioware's corpse? Please? It's starting to smell, and the worms falling out of it's decaying body is scaring the children.
This is so true its not even funny
@@Stormreagge yep
Mass effect was sacrificed for this? Arguably the best sci fi franchise was cannibalized for this
they aint dead, genius.
@@bluemoon1716 its on hold, they never said there would b no more ME games.
Review is 20 minutes long, the rest of the video is a loading screen.
Holy fuck the video is 50 minutes 😂😂😂 dis gun b good
It immediately felt somehow familiar to me
Imagine a free to play game *cough cough* warframe did it better
If you spoke to Warframe vets ..... Well you would be speaking to then as they play FF14 and Geshin Impact....... Cause those games treat their time better than Warframe did
@@Sonichero151 well the overpriced microtransactions in genshin impact puts it below warframe
One is subscription based and the other is a mobile game that I ran out of things to do within less than 2 weeks. Would rather play eso than FF14, it just feels overwhelming at times
I came here for loading screens and I see some gameplay...wtf Joe?
What Happened in 6 year development of anthem?
EA: I don't have time to explain while I don't have to time to explain.
Execs bought a couple lambos from pre sales then ran out of cash
I think the phrase is why not while
I could tell you
I could tell you
Muhahahahaaaaaaaa
Hey Joe, wanna play another loading game?
and I thought fo4 with an HDD was bad
Sonic 06
godzilla is aproaching the loading screen, godzilla is aproaching the loading screen
@@mcbadrobotvoice8155 Sonic 06 is at least hilarious with how much you can break the game.
StaticShock42 that’s fair
Lmao. May 2021, I see that Anthem is on-sale in the Microsoft Store for $5.99..... Never heard of it before tonight, but the graphics looked too gorgeous to be at a 90% discount without some catch.
*Watches Angry Joe*
Yep, there it is....
“Theeeere it is.” 🤣👍🏼
Is it still that bad?
@@G4meplayVids Yes.
@@G4meplayVids not just bad, but also dead
I'm from 2022
I got this game cuz it's FREE
I don't know about you guys, but i would listen to Other Joe tell stories all damn day.
Me too man me too
Haha
Lol. Guy is hilarious. Does he have his own channel?
Preach
Damn right! I bet those sketches are better, or at least more fun, than entire Anthem!
Can we just appreciate how well made and entertaining this review was? Keep up the good work Joe! 👍
Repetative statments for first 10min but once he got going it got very good
Fuck you. Clearly shows you're just some slimy little reddit-turd knowing AngryJoe just since 2 years or so. This is run-of-othe-mill quality, and by the way, what not getting 2-weekly or at least monthly is what everyone has been complaining about. Even so, this is what the channel is all about, nothing else. You turd.
I enjoyed it! Joe and ACG are my go tos for game reviews. Clearly they rushed the game, hopefully it’ll get better.
@Jackalofdeath Psychopath? Something tells me you have not been paying attention to what he says, and... wait a sec, why are you even here??
More thought was put into this review than the entire game.
SWTOR: We got rid of a lot of our loading screens. What should we do with them?
Anthem: We'll take those off your hands.
what ever loading screens SWTOR lost anthem found.
Annnnnd Anthem is now officially dead! What a shame and I enjoy the gameplay flying around the map but that's about it. Bye bye Anthem
Good riddance.
running with the colossus was oddly satisfying; I felt like a huge tank and the flying was fun like you said but the missions were so repetitive and guns felt reskinned for the most part. What a shame indeed the game had so much potential.
EA: thanks for your money, bye bye!
New mental illness test:
If you keep buying EA games after EA has proven themselves to make bugged trash games with shady features in them. Just keep buying them and we'll know how troubled your mind is. Especially when you act surprised and angry after buying an expected trash game.
This doesn't go for reviewers. They need to inform their audiences. Regular consumers have no excuse when they still buy EA games.
@Ron Swanson 2K isn't EA, their owned by Take-Two.
@Ron Swanson Dumbass lol
Well imo Titanfall 2 was actually a really amazing game
Hey old school BF games are still good :/
@@Jackyyeah_ That was before ea bought respawn.

I think you're right.
"You sold us out!"
@Bruce Wade IDK about anyone else, but I stopped getting Bioware games after ME3.
I still feel a little upset when I think about that game.
AsaelTheBeast ME3 was the last good BioWare game. Everything else was either mediocre or god-awful.
@@TheAxeLordOfFire I didn't like ME3.
And it wasn't just the last five minutes. Or the magic maggupin out of nowhere to solve every problem, Or the stripped down RPG elements. Or the Occasional bout of bad writing. Or the Day one DLC. Or the stupid, micro transaction filled multiplayer you were punished for not playing.
In fact, I could go on for hours about every little thing I hated about ME3. But I doubt you'd be interested. It wasnt the last 'good' bioware game, Because it wasn't actually good.
I remember a friend of mine was tight lip determined to defend this game when it came out and I pointed out it's flaws. A couple of months later he was like "yeah....." 😅
I gotta say, I get on RUclips to burn 10-15 minutes here and there by watching 5 minute videos, but your reviews get me to sit down for nearly an hour and I barely notice. I love how you break down each part of the game and go into detail, keep it up boss. These are the lifeblood of modern game reviews 👍🏻💪🏻🙌🏻
Burnouts And Bourbon How are these lifeblood of modern game reviews? There are +3 hour reviews of games that go into deeper detail than Angry Joe ever will
@@Lunartic_ Maybe he means compared to the shills that take money and just put out a 10/10 without even playing it like some review sites, just a guess tho
Lunartic This is just me personally, but I wouldn’t watch a 3 hour review. I think this strikes a good balance of being in depth enough to give salient examples of each positive or negative aspect of the game, while still maintaining a broader overview of the product as a whole from a consumer-centered mindset.
Burnouts And Bourbon
Yeah i also just go on RUclips 10-15 minutes... i mean I wouldn’t waste a whole afternoon ... right?
... oh who am i kidding
its a shame gaming is dying
