Yamaha consistently does things right. They don't build junk. I have owned very high-end and even "beginner" models and loved them all. A shop owner was recently telling me that Yamaha is the only line he carries that consistently has flawless finishwork. He said that even their Chinese-made guitars are build in factories owned and controlled by Yamaha corporate and not sub-contracted like others. I love Yamaha guitars and this guitar is insanely cool. Very nice looking too!
Actually, Yamaha created the Trans Acoustic concept for their pianos years ago and then adapted it to their guitars around 2015. Not sure when the ToneWood Amp came to the market, but I am sure Yamaha’s Trans Acoustic concept was developed before ToneWoodsAmps. Demoes I have seen on the ToneWoods are amazing and they have a lot more options and effects than Trans Acoustics. The ToneWood can be moved from guitar to guitar pretty easily, but it looks like it could be a little obtrusive. I like the sound of the Trans Acoustic two effects better. I am picking up an LS-TA tonight. But I may end up getting a ToneWoodsAmp for my Fender CD140 SCE. If I do, I’ll probably pay more for it than I did for the used Fender CD!
The LL is a little more mellow, more bass but smoother and more balanced. The LS is great too, but seems brighter (definitely more treble), but a great lead voice that can cut, even without the effects. Both guitars feel great in your hands and a joy to play...
I've played $5000 Gibson and other high end brands. Currently the "best" acoustic guitar i've ever played in my life is a Yamaha LL ARE or something, and it cost about $1000 Canadian. I am tempted to get this guitar. Does it need batteries?
Brainer Gamer They now make FG, and FS lam back and sides versions, for $400.00 less. I have a “regular” FS 800, 200 bucks brand new and it really sings. Not sure the 2 effects are quite worth tripling the price.
Englemann Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides? The LS-TA shouldn’t be seen as just a gimmick. Clearly an overall superb guitar for this price range.
I've played them myself and you don't need an amp at all, it sounds like it is plugged in as soon as you press that button and turn those dials, it is excellent for busking out in the street with no amp to have to carry about, this video doesn't do the sound of these guitars any justice at all.
The TransAcoustic guitars have a pick up in them. If you plug the guitar an amp DI or PA the Trans acoustic effects also go out to whatever you are plugged into.
Put it this way, you don't need an amp with this guitar, you can just grab it and take it busking and sound plugged in to an amp without actually having an amp handy.
Unplugged, it has zero to do with piezo or garbage. I've played one, it sounds fantastic, like having a Tonewood amp built into your guitar. But with most fx, less is more.
RAHAN G - What are you talking about? The guitar is not plugged in, it is not sounding through the piezo, it was recorded acoustically with a microphone.
I just bought one today, because yesterday I went to the shop to see some guitars and I just fell in love with it... it is an excellent guitar... I bought it for 850 euros... Martin or Taylor for the same price gives you really low profile guitar, with laminated and richlite ... this Yamaha is all solid wood with ebony fingerboard... it’s way better than many Martin or Taylor

I know it's quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
That is flat out amazing! just might have to pick one these up myself!
I think ToneWoodAmp came up with this first, but having it built in is super cool.

Jesus Christ this is amazing
Jesus Christ is amazing. 🙌🙌🙌
I changed the bridge guitar ,nut and bridge pins to tusq Graptech and it sounds much better and stronger. Now that's a real cannon.
Good afternoon. In doubt between this model and the Yamaha ac3m all solid. Which friend considers to be of the best quality.
The guitar u r playing is LS-TA or LL-TA? The title says LS-TA but in the specification description you stated jumbo size which is LL-TA
What is The title of The last song played?
Nice, had no idea this kind of technology could be built-in like that. Cool, actually. What was that random kid in the video?
That kid was me
Did anyone have a chance to compare Yamaha L-series (LS, LJ, LL) with Ibanez Thermo Aged?
In terms of built quality.
The LL is a little more mellow, more bass but smoother and more balanced. The LS is great too, but seems brighter (definitely more treble), but a great lead voice that can cut, even without the effects. Both guitars feel great in your hands and a joy to play...
Thanks! Maybe Musicvilla will say which one has better quality - Ibanez Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged or Yamaha L-series?
They are both from China. They have solid aged woods
What powers it?
2 AA batteries... the Actuator vibrates the top of the guitar to produce the effects. I want one of these!!!

Yeah 2 AA batteries
What mic did you use, please. How does it influence the guitar sound?
We use a Neumann KM-184 on all of our videos
Nice kid
Neat novelty
Anyone ever tell you ...that you look like John Cusack...
But if John Cusack had an onboard actuator, of course
Yeah lemme go ahead and pull 1000 dollars out of my behind xD

Cool gimmick...but it sounded better when it was turned off. I could see a use for this when plugged in, to add SUBTLE reverb through a P.A.
Roy Meyer Well he did say that he cranked the effects in the vid. I'm curious to hear what it sounds like with the effects backed off a little bit.

Its between this Yamaha and a t as Taylor 114ce
This Yamaha. No contest.
is that plug in or unpluged?

Sup bros
sounds better with the garbage turned off.
But even without the" garbage", it just sounds piezo, that is to say not acoustic at all !
Well to be fair, they did have the chorus cranked just to show the head room... The sound can be balanced out to what ever your tastes might be.
