This blows all the big names out of the water.. walked into the store to drop $2k on a Martin or Taylor, walked out with this and plenty of spare change.. It's amazingly good. Actually all the Yamahas are punching over their weight.
They pack a great bang for the buck!
Bought an FS-TA this morning. Can’t stop. Beautiful guitar; outstanding electronics. This is over the charts
Glad you enjoy it!
I think they need to point out that it takes AA batteries as opposed to 9volt. AA's are less expensive and easier to get. You run out of battery power at a gig and don't have a spare, chances are you will get your hands on AAs before a 9 volt. Just saying. Also a great review. I just pulled the trigger on one after seeing a review by Paul Davids. I'm so stoked.
U can always buy batteries with more mah..
I have watched several of your reviews and really respect the choices made. I am an amateur that picked up playing guitar when i was young but dropped it after so many years. I had a Takamine EF-325 -SRC i bought in the 90's without trying first and always found it cumbersome to play for my body size. After watching a couple of your reviews on guitars I could not afford a Gibson.Martin Or Taylor but have always loved Yamaha Products overall . I Have owned 2 Yamaha Side by sides and are Top shelf quality.I recently got the Urge back being 60 now and Gave my son the Takamine and Bought An APX 1000 after watching your video on the APX 600 and trying an APX 700 11 which i had ordered first but changed to the 1000 when i got a bit of extra cash come my way for my 61st birthday in Feb/2019. When i went to pick up the 1000 i tried the FTSA in Vintage and had to have one then and there so i put one on layaway . Don't have it yet but soon will have it paid for. Had the APX 1000 for a month now and i just love it. Now i am getting the CSF3M parlor for Christmas this year. I don't even have to try that one as i know it will fit my body size. Just want to thank you for helping me make my choice. I went Yamaha for all 3 as it is affordable for me and always great quality and sound.on their instruments IMO. I live in A small town in Newfoundland Canada with not much action so your review vids are great for people like myself.
Heard one up close for the first time yesterday. I was floored by the sound. This is an awesome instrument.
I'm glad you emphasized that the plastic cover was removable! Other videos showed it...and that detracted from the look. TY
I have an FG-TA and I’m in love with it
I realize this was 4 years ago, but thanks. You helped me make up my mind to get the FG
I walked into White House Music fully intending to buy my first Martin. I tell the guy about my FG800 and how I felt it was too big for my small frame, and he hands me the FSTA. Beautiful, beautiful guitar. Perfect for smaller players and beginners. Also compared to the Martin I was handed, it was so much better. Highly recommend, it’s a great Christmas Present.
just got mine...my main is a D-18....I am stunned at how rich the overtones are from the yamaha. what an amazing guitar. The scalloped bracing is awesome.
Fantastic guitar
I loved the LS but the effects and laminates make this the ultimate camping guitar
I'm so happy I came across this line of guitars. This is going to be my next purchase!
Good choice!
Bought this recently and it sounds great
hey Bobby, how long do the batteries last. I haven't seen any video with that info. Thanks...bill
@@blueshowlar ...I only use the guitar 2-3 times a week and after a month the battery is still good. I bought rechargeable batteries for backup
Hi, so... essentially it is a yamaha fs820 with the TA system? or there are other differences (acoustically speaking) ? Also, the sunburst in the dreadnaught model seems more brownish, is that correct or is some weird visual effect?
By far the best demo on this.little gem…..everything explained in detail, including PRICE!! Thanks once again Alamo.wish you were in Wales, UK.
I've owned both of these and think the FG-TA is better,it's actually one of the best guitars I've played.
Why do you feel that way
I have the FS-TA and I love it. I bounce back and forth between this and my Taylor. The sound and feel of these guitars are fantastic. Yamaha is great value and I personally think over looked compared to the other big names.
Trends I tell you. People are sheep.
Fantastic sounds! I really hope they sell the case separately. I'd definitely want a hard case with mine...
Do they really come with a case? I got one and they toll me that they don't come with the case.
I dont imagine they do man, but you can always buy a case for the right body style you get.
No you can get a nice hard case for $110
How’s the action the the FG? Thanks for the reviews!
Amazing review video, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
I really wish the FGTA wasnt as red as it is, i like the black/brown burst on the FS. Going for the Vintage tint FG
please do a comparison of these vs a tonewood amp or how would you say they compare?
Hi, what make and gage of string do they come with? I have the FG-TA.
Even their inexpensive guitars are great .
hi, sure wish how long the batteries are expected to last, is there a difference in battery life meaning max or minimum effect. i want to buy the guitar, but I'm curious about the battery life. Thanks. please...
Not that I have seen in use. The only thing is that you have to remember to turn it off. It does not turn off automatically. - Chris McKee
This best guitar company in the world
If you see the Tony Polocastro commercial before the vid, Avoid it like the PLAGUE. He will promise to show you this and that, "any minute now", and "before we get started" and "be sure to have a notebook handy to take notes" it's all bullshit. It is an hour long tease for his "program" he is hawking. There is ZERO useful information, and a bunch of verbal drool that is a waste of your time. You have been warned.
These Yamahas are great guitars and a tremendous value, by the way.
thanks so much.
I always start listening to him, then can’t stand it and turn it off.
I'm getting two of thoses FG/TA one in the burst and the black version.
We don’t give a crap dawg
*My MAIN guitar along with my GUILDS* ❤
This Yamaha is great for street musicians and songwriters!
Very clever design and wonderful sounding and build guitar.
I do covers on my channel with the Yamaha LS TA
Cheers friends and PLAY ON 💥
Are the nut width on both guitars the same. Is the fsta a little easier to play?
Do you prefer this over a mid range acoustic with a tone wood?
They set the action way too high on these out of the factory and there’s a buzz. I tried one of these out at the guitar center this evening. I’ve been listening to these on RUclips and I see there’s a buzz in every one of them.
Great guitar please add a delay actuator, if possible Yamaha.
just buy tonewoodamp yamaha copy this tech from it
@@steevencoogan8754 I like all in one. clean design, I am not sure who did it first?
No left handed models. Why not?
... why do a comparison that is a totally different song and style :( Fingerpicked vs strumming with a plectrum? It's not really a comparison of them is it.
Forgot to mention, the tuners are kind of cheap. And the saddle is made of some cheap kind of plastic. They could’ve done much more for this at this price point.
Do you teach guitar lessons in RUclips?
Hi, can u make comparison between yamaha a3m vs yamaha f transacoustic?
Will pass this on!
Pretty playing. Great demo. Thanks!
Glad you like it!
If I didn’t already have a super sweet FS-800, I might consider one of these, but I can get a Tonewood Amp for way less $$.
Have you got tonewood?
I don't know if its just me but went to a local music store played the real expensive guitars on the wall Martins , Taylors and even a Gibson well over $1500 . I was not impressed at all with the way most or all sounded or played just not comfortable for me. I pick up TA Yamaha and other model Yamahas FG-830 it was like a pair of old sweat pants. They played great, felt really good , action/neck and intonation spot on for less then $700 ! just because something cost way more does not mean its better.
FG-TA sounded more fuller and crisp.
I didn’t find any of these guitars on your site.
Which was your favorite of the two?
I wish you would of played them the same....When you're trying to decide which one, You want to see comparisons done exactly the same...
I agree. Still difficult too choose which one to buy.
^^^ Exactly this. As comparisons go it's pretty useless, a fingerpicked song is always going to sound hugely different (and probably quieter) than a plectrum plucked song. Even on same guitar they'd sound very different.
Sounds awesome. Good video!
Sir have u heard of kepma f1. Thats also a transacoustic guitar with great build, better materials but cost same as this yamaha. Please make a comparison video of kepma f1ed & f1ga vs yamaha fg ta & fs ta
Noted!
@@AlamoMusic ❤
Laminates?
3:36 which song???😍😍😍
The dreadnought sounds much better.
Are you related to Andy?
I asked the same question too
Have you done a review on the redone AC3R.
David Huey not yet we will be soon
Fs ta have body small.
And i very like it
I love my FS-TA. I've barely touched my Taylor since I bought it! Granted, it doesn't play as well as the Taylor. lol
I'll bet the taylor never cost what the FSTA Cost lol
im thinking about the tonewwod amp so i can keep my taylors and get the same thing
@@stevefranz5157 does not the amp cost almost the same?
@@stevefranz5157 i think the tonewood cost like half yamaha FS Ta so is better buying the guitar.. or not????
@@matteo31149 I can’t really say I don’t own either one
The only thing I can say is... shame on you yamaha for not making a left handed version of these guitars so I bought a Fender paramount instead.
Wish I could afford a LL
❤️🎵🎶👍🎵🎶🙏😎
Yamaha must have paid tonewoodamp for this tech LOL
Was wondering as well
less talk more play
Learn something new that song bugs me haha
Bla bla bla. Tocala....
Hate that song
too much yap
If only they weren't made in China.
